In an attempt to develop stable and safe antifungal agents from natural products (daily foodstuffs in particular), the activities of essential oils from Allium sativum for. pekinense, A. cepa, and A. fistulosum against three Trichophyton species responsible for severe mycoses in humans were investigated and compared with activity of allicin in this study. The fungistatic activities of Allium oils were evaluated by the broth dilution method and disk diffusion assay. The combined effects of Allium oils with ketoconazole were tested by the checkerboard titer test. Among the tested oils, A. sativum for. pekinense oil exhibited the strongest inhibition of growth of T. rubrum, T. erinacei, and T. soudanense with MICs (minimum inhibiting concentrations) of 64microg/ml, while the activities of A. cepa and A. fistulosum were relatively mild. The inhibiting activities of the oils on Sabouraud agar plates were dose dependent against Trichophyton species. Additionally, these oils showed significant synergistic antifungal activity when combined with ketoconazole in the checkerboard titer test and disk diffusion test.  相似文献

In the current study, 18 Trichoderma spp. isolates were obtained from different provinces in central and northern regions of Turkey. The ability of nine selected isolates to suppress the colonisation of roots by P. betae and the multiplication of BNYVV in sugar beet roots under controlled conditions were tested. Roots of seedlings growing in the P. betae-BNYVV-infested soil were analysed by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay to test for the presence of BNYVV and checked microscopically for the density of cystosori of P. betae. The numbers of P. betae resting spores in cystosori for each treatment were counted using a light microscope. Except for isolates Tr-1 and Tr-5, the effect of selected Trichoderma isolates on suppressing multiplication of BNYVV varied between 4 and 53%. The total number of resting spores in the roots varied between 14.4 and 25.1 for the different Trichoderma spp. treatments. The lowest number of resting spores in clusters was recorded in T. harzianum Tr-8. In addition, the shapes of resting spores were not normal in the Tr-8 treatments. The cystosori from this treatment were also abnormally dark in colour and had deformed walls.  相似文献

Microorganisms are increasingly exploited as a source of new biological control agents. Genus Penicillium is a source of novel bioactive molecules which can be used as antifungal agents. The objective of this study was to evaluate the antifungal potential of Penicillium strains. Culture filtrates of two Penicillium species were tested for their antifungal potential by well diffusion assays. Filtrate of Penicillium isolates showed high antifungal effects on mycelial growth of Fusarium oxysporum, Fusarium solani, Macrophomina phaseolina, Aspergillus japonicus var aculeatus and Cladosporium cladosporioides. But Penicillium italicum inhibit the fungal growth from 45 to 68% as compared to Penicillium simplissimum (25–68%). However in case of A. japonicus var aculeatus, Penicillium spp. extracts were equally effective and reduce the colony growth up to 68%. However, P. simplissimum extract was least effective in case of M. phaseolina, where it decreased the colony growth only 25%.  相似文献

A process was developed to produce a characteristic milk gel. Raw and market milk samples were freeze-concentrated using bacterial ice nuclei. The concentrates were kept at 5°C and compressed at 300–600 MPa for 5 min. The combination of the freeze concentration and the pressurization gave a milk gel without adding any gelling agents. The addition of sugar at 10% to the concentrated milk improved its gel strength and viscoelasticity. The gel was characterized by a phase transition at about 62–75°C.  相似文献

The synthesis of a new series of 1-[(benzazole-2-yl)thioacetyl]-3,5-diaryl-2-pyrazoline derivatives was obtained by reacting 1-(chloroacetyl)-3,5-diaryl-pyrazolines with 2-mercaptobenzimidazole/benzoxazole/benzothiazole. The chemical structures of the compounds were elucidated by 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, and FAB+-MS spectral data. Their antifungal activities against Candida albicans, Candida glabrata, Candida utilis, Candida tropicalis, Candida krusei, and Candida parapsilosis were investigated. Ligularia virgaurea, L. sagitta and L. przewalskii are noxious weeds that are widely distributed in psychro-grasslands in the east of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau of China. However, little is known about reproductive modes and genetic diversity in the populations of L. virgaurea and L. sagitta under different environmental conditions, although such information is available for L. przewalskii. In this study, two experiments were conducted to examine the ex situ clonal growth of these weeds, and to determine the effects of reproductive modes on the diversity of their populations, using random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) analysis. Transplanted seedlings of L. sagitta and L. virgaurea showed considerable clonal growth by forming rhizomes and ramets. The RAPD analysis showed that all individuals collected from natural populations were genetically different, indicating that no individuals originated from clonal growth. It is concluded that L. virgaurea and L. sagitta have the capacity for clonal growth, but the expression of their clonality is constrained by their growing conditions in natural grasslands. Sexual reproduction plays the major role in their population diversity in natural habitats, which requires that the control measures for these weeds should be targeted at the sexually reproducing populations.  相似文献

Detection of Nitrosomonas spp. by polymerase chain reaction   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2  
Abstract A unique genomic DNA fragment was isolated from Nitrosomonas europaea ATCC 19718. Based on the sequence of this fragment, oligonucleotide primers for polymerase chain reaction amplification were prepared which amplify sequences of 775 and 658 bp. The predicted DNA fragments were both amplified from the genome of N. europaea and a Nitrosomonas spp. isolated from a local oxidation pond. The primers failed to amplify DNA from the genomes of the ammonia oxidiser Nitrosolobous multiformis , the nitrite oxidiser Nitrococcus mobilis as well as from the genomes of other unrelated heterotrophic bacteria. These DNA sequences could be amplified from 0.01 ng of N. europaea genomic DNA or from 100 intact cells, and it was possible to detect Nitrosomonas DNA in a DNA mixture extracted from water samples drawn from a local oxidation pond.  相似文献
