天然盐生植被是海岛盐生植被的主体,类型丰富,分布广泛,在海岛植被的研究及开发利用中占据重要地位。目前,天然盐生植被的分类尚无统一标准与系统。本文根据作者1990~1993年在浙江海岛用样方法(H.VonPost,1851;陈彦卓,1965)测定的样地数据,参照《中国植被》的分类方法,根据群落的外貌与结构、生态地理、动态和种类组成等特征进行分类,其中对群系级单位侧重于种类组成,并采用建群植物的重要值(J.T.CurtisandR.P.McIntosh,1951)作为分类的定量指标。据此,浙江海岛天然盐生植被可划分为3个植被型、8个群系组、18…  相似文献

Abstract. A vegetation map at scale 1:5 million is presented. * * Attached on the inside of this issue's back cover.
It covers Bangladesh, Burma (Myanmar), India, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, Vietnam and Sri Lanka and fills a conspicuous gap in the cartography of tropical vegetation, following the publication of vegetation maps of South America, Africa and Malaysia. For conformity, it is presented as one sheet at a scale of 1:5 million. It uses the basic map of the American Geographical Society (1942; bipolar oblique conformal projection) which forms the base for FAO's Soil map of the world. Basic information was obtained from many published maps, unpublished observations and satellite data. The limits of the main vegetation types have been updated with a complete set of Landsat MSS images (369 scenes) with a mosaic of Landsat TM data for 1991 and with recent forest maps from Asia. Nine main vegetation units, which are groups of forest formations, have been identified and mapped, including woodlands, thickets and wooded savannas. Agricultural land has been shown in a uniform pale green colour in order to clearly express the extent of human impacts on woody vegetation. In spite of the necessary oversimplification of the ground data, this map is probably the most explicit expression of the remaining forest stands and of the regression of natural vegetation in the region. It can be considered as a benchmark for future monitoring of tropical vegetation.  相似文献

Determination of anteroposterior and dorsoventral axes is an important early event in the development of vertebrates involving extensive cellular interactions including inductive events. Recently we showed that insulin plays an essential role in prepancreatic development of the frogMicrohyla ornata. In the present study we have investigated the effects of immunoneutralization of endogenous insulin on the process of pattern formation. Treatment of neurulating embryos with antiserum to insulin caused abnormal pattern formation. The defects included loss of normal architecture of the neural tube, reduction in the size of the neural tube and, most conspicuously, rotation of the dorsoventral axis of the neural tube, notochord and adjoining mesodermal elements. The effects could be alleviated partially by pretreatment of embryos with exogenous insulin. This supports our belief that insulin plays an important role in induction and pattern formation of the amphibian nervous system. In addition, using 2-deoxy-α-D-glucose, an inhibitor of glucose metabolism, it is shown that the stimulatory effects of exogenous insulin on developing frog embryos are, at least partially, through the glucose metabolism pathway. Preliminary results of this study were presented at the National Symposium on Genes and Human Environment, held at Hyderabad, February 1994 and DAE Symposium on Stress and Adaptive Responses in Biological Systems, held at Vadodara, March 1994.  相似文献

Summary To study the influence of phosphorylation and oxidation on the repeat domains of human Tau protein, we faced the challenge to selectively dimerize two cysteine-containing peptides in the presence of a nearby phosphate group. To this end, we were able to demonstrate the utility of a selective dimerization approach by forming disulfide bonds in unprotected phosphopeptides and extended the methodology to unprotected glycopeptides. Activation of one cysteine of a peptide chain with 2,2-dithiodipyridine and coupling this thiopyridyl-peptide to another peptide chain, containing an unprotected cysteine residue, yielded the mixed dimers in high purities and reasonable yields. Phosphate or sugar side chains on either peptide component remained unaffected during the activation and dimerization processes. While for mixed dimers the activated peptides were isolated by chromatography, homodimers were obtained by a simple one-pot reaction after 1 h. The effects of experimental factors on protoplast formation of Prototheca zopfii Kru¨ger in 0.85 m NaCl using Macerozyme R-200 were studied based on a fractional factorial experimental design. The rate of protoplast formation was mainly affected by the incubation temperature and the age of algal cells. The optimal condition for the maximum protoplast yield was determined based on a response surface model. These were: mid-logarithmic phase cells and Macerozyme concentration of 4% at a temperature of 35°C.  相似文献

The peptide bond formation of alanine (ala), ala + glycine (gly), ala + diglycine (gly2), and ala + gly cyclic anhydride (cyc-gly2) in drying/wetting cycles at 80°C was studied. Silica, alumina, and representative smectites—montmorillonite and hectorite—were used as catalysts, and the dependence of reaction yields on the available amount of water in the reaction systems was evaluated. Silica and alumina catalyze the formation of oligopeptide mainly in temperature fluctuation experiments, whereas higher amounts of water in the reaction system support clay-catalyzed reactions. Silica and alumina are much more efficient for amino acid dimerization than clays. Whereas only 0.1% of ala oligomerized on hectorite and no reaction proceeded on montmorillonite, about 0.9 and 3.8% alanine converted into its dimer and cyclic anhydride on silica and alumina, respectively. Clay minerals, on the other hand, seem to more efficiently catalyze peptide chain elongation than amino acid dimerization. The reaction yields of ala-gly-gly and gly-gly-ala from ala + gly2 and ala + cyc-gly2 reached about 0.3% on montmorillonite and 1.0% on hectorite. The possible mechanisms of these reactions and the relevance of the results for prebiotic chemistry are discussed. Received: 15 December 1996 / Accepted: 1 May 1997  相似文献

The lung is a highly branched fluid-filled structure, that develops by repeated dichotomous branching of a single bud off the foregut, of epithelium invaginating into mesenchyme. Incorporating the known stress response of developing lung tissues, we model the developing embryonic lung in fluid mechanical terms. We suggest that the repeated branching of the early embryonic lung can be understood as the natural physical consequence of the interactions of two or more plastic substances with surface tension between them. The model makes qualitative and quantitative predictions, as well as suggesting an explanation for such observed phenomena as the asymmetric second branching of the embryonic bronchi.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with the possibility of Turing bifurcations in a reaction-diffusion system in which the diffusion coefficient of one species varies periodically in time. This problem was introduced and investigated numerically by Timm and Okubo (J. Math. Biol. 30, 307, 1992) in the context of predator-prey interactions in plankton populations. Here, I consider the simple case in which the temporal variation in diffusivity has a square-tooth form, alternating between two constant values, with a period that is long compared with the time scale of the kinetics. The analysis is valid for any set of reaction kinetics. I derive explicit expressions for the Floquet multipliers that determine the stability of the steady state, and thereby obtain the conditions for diffusion driven instability to occur. These conditions imply that, depending on the kinetics, the homogeneous equilibrium may be either more or less stable than when the diffusion coefficient is a constant equal to the mean of the variable diffusivity. I go on to consider the form of the solution when diffusion driven instability does occur, and I use perturbation theory to determine the effect of a small temporal variation in the diffusion coefficient on the spatial wavelength of the pattern that results from diffusion driven instability.  相似文献

Generating developmental gradients by temperature gradients established within a developing organism is an easy, non-invasive technique to study physiological interdependencies between locally separated subsystems. A linear temperature gradient of about 10° C/mm was maintained up to 5 h in either direction along the long axis of a long-germ-type hymenopteran egg, which was simultaneously filmed by the 16 mm timelapse technique. The result was a dramatic desynchronization of development, which between the egg poles could reach up to 9.3 h relative to normal development. Within the same egg, up to seven mitotic waves (i.e. eight different nuclear generations) were observed at the same time, and the subsequent cellularization process was extremely asynchronous. The initial regions of the mitotic waves, the fountain flow of the ooplasm, and the gastrulation process were shifted towards the egg pole kept at higher temperatures. Developmental processes occurring successively in normal development now took place simultaneously, with either direction of the temperature gradient. For instance, while gastrulation had started in the warm region, midblastula transition and cellularization were in progress in the middle of the egg, and intravitelline nuclear multiplication occurred at the cold pole, by rapid and still biphasic cell cycles. In some respects, development resembled that of a short-germ-type insect egg. Nevertheless, the developmental processes were resynchronized after the temperature gradient was switched off. Surprisingly, the extreme desynchronization during early development did not affect the segment pattern of the resulting embryos. The technique of inducing well-defined developmental asynchronies might be applied in Drosophila to analyse the subtle interplay between maternal and zygotic gene activities described in this species.  相似文献

Abstract This review deals with recent advances in the structural characterization of pectins and the gels which they form, in relation to auxin-induced extension growth, the ripening of fruit, and cellular recognition. Pectins are block polysaccharides. Heavily branched, largely methyl-esterified blocks alternate with unbranched blocks of varying degrees of esterification. The unbranched, non-esterified blocks can aggregate through calcium binding to form the junction zones that hold a gel together. The aggregates are of two, or possibly four, chains at low calcium levels, and larger with excess calcium. The fall in wall pH during auxin-induced growth activates glycanase enzymes. These may attack some components of the pectic fraction, as well as xyloglucans. Pectin-bound calcium ions may be displaced but this probably has little effect on gel strength. Pectins may be cross-linked by diferulate esters when growth stops. The softening of ripe fruit is due to loss of cohesion in the pectin gel. In apples this results from replacement of the pectins by more esterified forms. In many other fruits it results from depolymerization by polygalacturonases, assisted by pectinesterases, so that the remaining segments are too short for effective calcium binding. Pectins have a further role in the recognition reactions between plant cells and some of their bacterial and fungal pathogens.  相似文献
