Eu(2+), Dy(3+) and Tb(3+) co-doped strontium aluminate phosphor with high brightness and long afterglow was synthesized by a combustion method, using urea as a reducer. The properties of SrAl(2)O(4):Eu(2+),Dy(3+),Tb(3+) phosphor with a series of initiating combustion temperatures, urea concentrations and boric acid molar fractions were investigated. The sample at initiating combustion temperature of 600 degrees C exhibited an intense emission peak at 513 nm, in which the phosphor existed as a single-phase monoclinic structure. The experimental results showed that the optimum ratio of urea is 2.0 times higher than theoretical quantities and that the suitable molar fraction of H(3)BO(3) is 0.08. The average particle size of the phosphor was 50-80 nm and its luminescence properties were studied systematically. Compared with SrAl(2)O(4):Eu(2+),Dy(3+) phosphor, the initial luminescence brightness improved from 2.50 candela (cd)/m(2) to 3.55 cd/m(2) and the long afterglow time was prolonged from 1290 s to 2743 s. 相似文献

The afterglow properties of long afterglow luminescent materials are greatly affected by their defects, which are distributed on the grain surface. Increasing the exposed surface area is an important method to improve the afterglow performance. In this research, long rod-shaped long afterglow materials Sr2MgSi2O7:Eu2+,Dy3+ were prepared using the hydrothermal-coprecipitation method. When the reaction time reached 96 h, the length of the afterglow materials could grow to 2 mm, and the sintering temperature was just 1150°C. The emission spectra of all obtained samples upon excitation at 397 nm had a maximum of 465 nm, which belonged to the representative transition of Eu2+. The initial brightness was 1.35 cd/m2. The afterglow time could reach 19 h, giving a good afterglow performance. The research on this kind of material has essential significance in the exploration of luminescence mechanisms and their applications. 相似文献

The temperature dependence of the electric field-induced chlorophyll luminescence in photosystem II was studied in Tris-washed, osmotically swollen spinach chloroplasts (blebs). The system II reaction centers were brought in the state Z+P+-QA

- by preillumination and the charge recombination to the state Z+PQAQB
- was measured at various temperatures and electrical field strengths. It was found that the activation enthalpy of this back reaction was 0.16 eV in the absence of an electrical field and diminished with increasing field strength. It is argued that this energy is the enthalpy difference between the states IQA
- and I-QA and accounts for about half of the free energy difference between these states. The redox state of QB does not influence this free energy difference within 150 s after the photoreduction of QA. At concentrations greater than 0.1 mM, CuSO(4) provoked a rapid and sustained increase in the cytosolic free Ca(2+) concentration ([Ca(2+)](cyt)), in tobacco suspension culture cells expressing apoaequorin, a Ca(2+)-sensitive photoprotein. The increase was suppressed by treatment with LaCl(3), indicating that the increase is due to an influx of Ca(2+) from the apoplast through plasma membrane Ca(2+) channels. Although stimulation of H(2)O(2) production upon the CuSO(4) treatment (0.1 mM) was observed, treatment with catalase did not inhibit the increase in [Ca(2+)](cyt), and treatment with H(2)O(2) dose-dependently suppressed or delayed the increase. These results suggested that active oxygen species generated through copper-mediated reactions, or copper-mediated oxidative damages to plasma membrane, are not responsible for the increase. Treatment with sulfhydryl reagents, which alkylate or oxidize thiol groups, or acidification of the culture medium suppressed the increase in [Ca(2+)](cyt). These results demonstrated that copper causes an influx of Ca(2+) through plasma membrane Ca(2+) channels, and that plasma membrane thiol groups play an important role in activating the Ca(2+) channels. 相似文献

Squid giant axons were injected with aequorin or arsenazo III and impaled with a Ca-sensing electrode. The light output of aequorin or the spectrophotometer output when measuring arsenazo was compared with the voltage output of the electrode when the squid axon was depolarized with high-K solutions, when the seawater was made Na-free, or when the axon was tetanized for several minutes. The results from these treatments were that the optical response rose (as much as 50-fold) with all treatments known to increase Ca entry, while the electrode remained unaffected by these treatments. If axons previously subjected to Ca load are treated with electron-transport poisons such as CN, it is known that [Ca]i rises after a time necessary to deplete ATP stores. In such axons one expects a rise of [Ca]i in axoplasm which does not necessarily have to be uniform although the source of such Ca is the mitochondria and these are uniformly distributed in axoplasm. Under conditions of CN application, the optical signals from aequorin or arsenazo and Ca electrode output do rise together when [Ca]i is high, but there is a region of [Ca]i concentration where aequorin light output or arsenazo absorbance rises while electrode output does not. Axons not loaded with Ca but injected with apyrase and vanadate have mitochondria that still retain some Ca and this can be released by CN in a truly uniform manner. The results show that such a release (which is small) can be readily measured with aequorin, but again the Ca electrode is insensitive to such [Ca]i change. 相似文献

Homogeneous luminescence-based microplate assays are desirable in high-throughput screening of new nuclear receptor regulators. Time-resolved fluorescence resonance energy transfer (TR–FRET) assays provide high sensitivity due to low background signal. The TR–FRET concept requires labeling of both ligand and receptor, making the assay format and its development relatively expensive and complex compared with single-label methods. To overcome the limitations of the multilabel methods, we have developed a single-label method for estrogen receptor (ER)–ligand binding based on quenching resonance energy transfer (QRET), where estradiol labeled with luminescent europium(III) chelate (Eu–E2) is quenched using soluble quencher molecules. The luminescence signal of Eu–E2 on binding to full-length ER is protected from quenching while increasing competitor concentrations displace Eu–E2 from the receptor, reducing the signal. The QRET method was paralleled with a commercial fluorescence polarization (FP) assay. The measured signal-to-background (S/B) values for estradiol, estrone, fulvestrant, and tamoxifen obtained for the QRET assay (5.8–9.2) were clearly higher than the S/B values for the FP assay (1.3–1.5). A Kd value of 30 nM was calculated for binding of Eu–E2 to ER from a saturation binding isotherm. The QRET method provides an attractive new single-label assay format for nuclear receptor ligand screening. 相似文献

Theoretical techniques have been developed and/or improved to predict the molecular structure of lanthanide complexes which
were used to calculate their electronic properties, in particular, their electronic spectra and energy levels necessary to
calculate the rates of energy transfer from the ligands to the metal ion. The molecular structure has been obtained by the
SMLC/AM1 (Sparkle Model for the Calculation of Lanthanide Complexes – Austin Model 1) model where the lanthanide ion is simulated
by a sparkle implemented into the AM1 Hamiltonian used to perform a HF-SCF (Hartree-Fock Self-Consistent Field) calculation.
The previous implementation of the SMLC/AM1 model (sparkle/1) involving only two parameters has been generalized to be consistent
with the AM1 Hamiltonian and the new model (sparkle/2) significantly improved the prediction of molecular structures of Eu(III)
complexes. For the electronic spectra and energy level calculations of the lanthanide complexes the model replaces the metal
ion by a point charge with the ligands held in their positions as determined by the SMLC/AM1 model, and uses a INDO/S-CI (intermediate
neglect of differential overlap/spectroscopic-configuration interaction) model. A preliminary study of the solvent effects
on the absorption spectra of the free ligand is also presented. For the ligand-lanthanide ion energy transfer Fermi's golden
rule is used with the multipolar and exchange mechanisms being implemented and tested for several complexes. These theoretical
techniques have been applied to several complexes yielding very good results when compared to experimental data as well as
predictions for the molecular and electronic structures and the relative contributions of the mechanisms for the energy transfer
rates.

The perturbation of the racemic equilibrium of luminescent D3 terbium(III) complexes with chelidamic acid (CDA), a hydroxylated derivative of 2,6-pyridine-dicarboxylic acid (DPA), by added chiral biomolecules such as L-amino acids has been studied using circularly polarized luminescence and 13C NMR spectroscopy. It is shown in this work that the chiral-induced equilibrium shift of [Tb(CDA)3](6-) by L-amino acids (i.e. L-proline or L-arginine) was largely influenced by the hydrogen-bonding networks formed between the ligand interface of racemic [Tb(CDA)3](6-) and these added chiral agents. The capping of potential hydrogen-bonding sites by acetylation in L-proline led to a approximately 100-fold drop in the induced optical activity of the [Tb(CDA)3](6-):N-acetyl-L-proline system. This result suggested that the hydrogen-bonding networks serve as the basis for further noncovalent discriminatory interactions between racemic [Tb(CDA)3](6-) and added L-amino acids. 相似文献

In this study, ethanol inhibited the growth and glucose-induced proton release of yeast cells in a dose-dependent manner. On the other hand, ethanol tolerance of menadione-catalyzed luminol luminescence by yeast cells increased with increasing ethanol concentrations in the growth medium. The intracellular reduced-form nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NADH) concentration also increased with increasing ethanol concentrations in the medium and was enough to maintain constant menadione-catalyzed luminol luminescence. These facts suggest that the menadione-catalyzed luminol luminescent assay depending on a NADH:quinone reductase and NADH generation system is useful as a new evaluation assay for assessing the vitality of ethanol-stressed yeast cells, whereas the glucose-induced proton release assay is expected to be useful for the evaluation of cell growth under ethanol stress. 相似文献

Generally, metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) are made up from kinds of repeating microporous structure. Here, a series of Eu3+ ions activated terephthalate‐based lanthanum–organic frameworks (La–MOFs) was synthesized by a hydrothermal reaction. By controlling the reaction time, we obtained some unique brick‐shaped La–MOFs in a micron scale size range, and these La–MOFs showed tunable mesoporous and macroporous architectures. It is speculated that the change in the composition and structure of building units results in the formation of this mesoporous and macroporous heterogeneous architectures. Powder X‐ray diffraction patterns and Eu3+ luminescence behavior support the speculation. 相似文献
