本文对几个与胃癌的发生具有相关性的掌褶纹特征量进行了提取, 并与对照组进行了对比, 用统计学t检验的方法分析后发现,胃癌患者双手手掌掌褶纹的ATD角、左右手三线与掌宽夹角及左右手a-b嵴线数(a-bRc)与正常对照组之间均存在统计学意义上的差异, 这些结论为后期构建与胃癌的发生具有相关性的皮纹特征量化指标体系提供了依据,也为临床对早期胃癌患者的筛查提供了皮纹学方面的支持。  相似文献

The genomic as well as structural relationship of phycobiliproteins (PBPs) in different cyanobacterial species are determined by nucleotides as well as amino acid composition. The genomic GC constituents influence the amino acid variability and codon usage of particular subunit of PBPs. We have analyzed 11 cyanobacterial species to explore the variation of amino acids and causal relationship between GC constituents and codon usage. The study at the first, second and third levels of GC content showed relatively more amino acid variability on the levels of G3 + C3 position in comparison to the first and second positions. The amino acid encoded GC rich level including G rich and C rich or both correlate the codon variability and amino acid availability. The fluctuation in amino acids such as Arg, Ala, His, Asp, Gly, Leu and Glu in α and β subunits was observed at G1C1 position; however, fluctuation in other amino acids such as Ser, Thr, Cys and Trp was observed at G2C2 position. The coding selection pressure of amino acids such as Ala, Thr, Tyr, Asp, Gly, Ile, Leu, Asn, and Ser in α and β subunits of PBPs was more elaborated at G3C3 position. In this study, we observed that each subunit of PBPs is codon specific for particular amino acid. These results suggest that genomic constraint linked with GC constituents selects the codon for particular amino acids and furthermore, the codon level study may be a novel approach to explore many problems associated with genomics and proteomics of cyanobacteria.  相似文献

Summary .   We consider the problem of testing for a difference in the probability of success from matched binary pairs. Starting with three standard inexact tests, the nuisance parameter is first estimated and then the residual dependence is eliminated by maximization, producing what I call an E+M P-value. The E+M P-value based on McNemar's statistic is shown numerically to dominate previous suggestions, including partially maximized P-values as described in Berger and Sidik (2003, Statistical Methods in Medical Research 12, 91–108). The latter method, however, may have computational advantages for large samples.  相似文献

Human mesenchymal stem cells (hMSCs) have attracted much attention for tissue repair and wound healing because of their self-renewal capacity and multipotentiality. In order to mediate an effective therapy, substantial numbers of cells are required, which necessitates extensive sub-culturing and expansion of hMSCs. Throughout ex vivo expansion, the cells undergo telomere shortening, and critically short telomeres can trigger loss of cell viability. Telomeres are nucleoprotein structures that cap the ends of chromosomes, and serve to protect the DNA from the degradation which occurs due to the end-replication problem in all eukaryotes. As hMSCs have only a finite ability for self-renewal like most somatic cells, assaying for telomere length in hMSCs provides critical information on the replicative capacity of the cells, an important criterion in the selection of hMSCs for therapy. Telomere length is generally quantified by Southern blotting and fluorescence in situ hybridization, and more recently by PCR-based methods. Here we describe the quantification of hMSC telomere length by real-time PCR; our results demonstrate the effect of telomere shortening on the proliferation and clonogenicity of hMSCs. Thus, this assay constitutes a useful tool for the determination of relative telomere length in hMSCs.  相似文献

Testicular function and structure harmed by ageing. Goal of this research was to assess preventive actions of soy isoflavone oral administration for 8 weeks on testes of old male albino rats, and potential mechanisms of action. Adult control (N = 10) and elderly control (N = 10) rats were fed usual diet, while aged treatment group (N = 10) gave oral 100 mg/kg soy isoflavone daily for 8 weeks. ELISA kits were used to measure testosterone levels and oxidative stress indicators [malonaldehyde (MDA), glutathione (GSH), and superoxide dismutase (SOD)] in serum. Aging produced functional and structural testicular changes and decreased ki67 proliferative marker immunoexpression versus adult control rats due to enhancement of oxidative stress. Soy isoflavone exerted protective effect on testicular function and structure as assessed by increase serum levels of testosterone and preserved histological structure and immune-expression features. These protected effects due to isoflavone antioxidant properties proved by decrease in serum values of MDA, while GSH and SOD were elevated after treatment. These data demonstrated protective effects of isoflavone against age changes in rat testes, by reducing oxidative stress and increasing antioxidants and testicular ki67 proliferative marker immunoexpression.  相似文献

Many randomized clinical trials utilize a group sequential monitoring procedure for assessing treatment efficacy during the course of the trial. For a group sequential trial in which the null hypothesis is ultimately rejected, the nominal p-value generally overstates the statistical significance of the result and some adjustment is required. Several orderings of the sample space have been proposed for performing this adjustment, each with unique operating characteristics. In this article, we compare four proposed methods with respect to the degree to which each captures the strength of evidence against the null hypothesis implied by the data. We conclude that the ordering of the sample space induced by the observed z-score has the most desirable operating characteristics.  相似文献
