ABSTRACT. The nomenclature of protists is more complicated than that of plants or animals because more than one code of nomenclature applies (i.e. the taxa may be ambiregnal), because of the frequent absence of type material, and because of changing perspectives of the phylogenetic relationships of various groups of protists. These factors often lead to uncertainty over the meaning of names of taxa. If nomenclatural instability is to be avoided, some changes in current practices are required. The microstructure of two species of Cladochonusfrom Algerian Carboniferous, C. crassus (McCoy) and C. cf. tenuicollisMcCoy, has been studied by ultra-thin sections. Their walls consist of: 1. an external fibrous layer, 2. a median layer of undulating lamellae, 3. an internal zone of slender, elongated elements to which the name of «grundulae is given here. New data bring complements to the generic diagnosis of Cladochonus s. str. Some Permian cladochonid forms show different microstructures and should, therefore, be shifted to new generic units. 相似文献

Lolium perenne is typified by material in LINN, as proposed by Terrell, but it has been necessary to select a lectotype for L. temulentum , and material in the Burser herbarium (UPS) has been chosen for this purpose. The study shows that although Linnaeus used awns as a diagnostic character to distinguish the two species, he was aware of the intraspecific variability in this character. 相似文献

Recently, it has been indicated that systematics is of no value to the traditional Chinese medicinal studies and industry of macrofungi. As a fungal taxonomist, I use three genera of the most famous medicinal macrofungi, viz. Sanghuangporus, Ganoderma and Ophiocordyceps, as examples to rebut this opinion. Generally, the well-established systematics are helpful in using correct Latin names for fungal species in medicinal studies; furthermore, the resulting medicinal functions can be exactly matched to a particular species; finally, the particular species can be applied for permissions of utilization in traditional Chinese medicinal industry. Therefore, systematics is crucial for unlocking the potential of macrofungi as valuable resources to be developed in the traditional Chinese medicinal studies and industry, and should continue to be of interest to not just fungal taxonomists but also biochemists, pharmacists and businessmen. 相似文献

Vertically curved, unbranched, strongly lined burrows are prominent features of muddy outer‐shelf/offshore deposits of Cretaceous to Pleistocene age. Such burrows are usually called Terebellina, but use of this ichnogenus should be avoided for two reasons: 1) the type species of Terebellina is a large agglutinated foraminiferid referable to Bathysiphon, not a trace fossil; and 2) most trace fossils identified with Terebellina are either examples of Palaeophycus (in cases where burrows are essentially horizontal and occur individually) or Schaubcylindrichnus (where burrows are oblique to stratification and occur in aggregations or loose clusters). The replacement name S. freyi is proposed for this latter category of burrow. These light‐colored, grain‐lined burrows are conspicuous structures in the dark‐colored, outer‐shelf mudrocks of the lower Pleistocene Rio Dell Formation. The burrows are part of a typical “distal Cruziana ichnofacies”; association of structures, including Teichichnus, Planolites, Palaeophycus, and Chondrites, occurring in thoroughly bioturbated background sediments. Schaubcylindrichnus freyi in the Rio Dell is interpreted as the dwelling structure of a gregarious, endobenthic organism, comparable to the lined burrows produced by the deposit‐feeding polychaete Clymenella. 相似文献

In the framework of the revision of the genus Orobanche (including Phelipaea) in the Mediterranean area, the original material for 31 names of new taxa described from North Africa by Ball, Battandier, Forsskål, Maire (partly with Emberger and Jahandiez), Persoon, Poiret and Pomel has been analysed. Typification is discussed, and where necessary types are designated. Accepted names and synonyms of the recognized taxa are given. Partial duplication of 11q is related to several malformations like growth retardation, intellectual disability, hypoplasia of corpus callosum, short nose, palate defects, cardiac, urinary tract abnormalities and neural tube defects. We have studied the clinical and molecular characteristics of a patient with severe intellectual disabilities, dysmorphic features, congenital inguinal hernia and congenital cerebral malformation which is referred to as cytogenetic exploration. We have used FISH and array CGH analysis for a better understanding of the double chromosomic aberration involving a 7p microdeletion along with a partial duplication of 11q due to adjacent segregation of a paternal reciprocal translocation t(7;11)(p22;q21) revealed after banding analysis. The patient's karyotype formula was: 46,XY,der(7)t(7;11)(p22;q21)pat. FISH study confirmed these rearrangement and array CGH technique showed precisely the loss of at least 140 Kb on chromosome7p22.3pter and 33.4 Mb on chromosome11q22.1q25. Dysmorphic features, severe intellectual disability and brain malformations could result from the 11q22.1q25 trisomy. Our study provides an additional case for better understanding and delineating the partial duplication 11q. 相似文献
