Color-Doppler ultrasonography was used to compare the vascularity of the preovulatory follicle between heifers that became pregnant compared with nonpregnant. Heifers (n=34) received a luteolytic dose of PGF2alpha when the diameter of the largest follicle of the second follicular wave reached > or =11 mm (actual diameter 11.63+/-0.06 mm). An ovulation-inducing injection of GnRH analogue was given 36 h after the PGF2alpha treatment. Artificial insemination (AI) was performed 26 h after GnRH treatment, and ovulation occurred in all heifers within 3h after AI. Follicle blood flow was assessed at Hour 0 (GnRH treatment) and at Hour 26 (AI). Follicle diameter at Hours 0 and 26 was greater (main effect of group; P<0.03) in the group that became pregnant (n=25) compared with nonpregnant (n=9). Percentage of follicle wall with power Doppler signals of blood flow showed an interaction of group-by-hour (P<0.03), reflecting greater blood flow in the pregnant group than in the nonpregnant group at Hour 26 but not at Hour 0. Spectral-Doppler evaluation of the resistance index for a vessel in the follicle wall resulted in a group-by-hour interaction (P<0.03) from a lower index in the pregnant group at Hour 26. The lower index indicated greater downstream vascular perfusion in the follicle wall. Results supported the hypothesis of a positive relationship between the extent of blood flow of the preovulatory follicle and successful establishment of pregnancy in cattle.  相似文献

The skeletal muscle of Ophicephalus punctatus contains nine essential free amino acids, arginine, histidine, isoleucine, leucine, methionine, phenylalanine, threonine, valine and lysine, and eight non-essential amino acids, alanine, aspartic acid, cystine, glutamic acid, glycine, tyrosine, proline and serine. Histidine and lysine dominated the free amino acids pool. Seasonal variation was detected in the levels of histidine, arginine, leucine, phenylalanine, glycine, cystine and serine with highest values occurring in April and again in November. Changes were also detected in the concentrations of certain amino acids as the fish grew in size. Levels of free amino acids did not significantly differ between sexes. In this study, the phytochemical, phenolic, flavonoid and bioactive compounds were successfully screened from crude extract of Sargassum wightii by LC-MS analysis after NIST interpretation. Bacterial growth inhibition study result was shown with 24 mm zone inhibition at 200 µg/mL concentration against P. aeruginosa. The increased phenolic content was much closed to gallic acid and the range was observed at 250 μg/mL concentration. In addition, flavonoid contents of the algae extract was indicated more significant with rutin at 200 μg/mL. In result, both the phenolic and flavonoid contents of the extract were more correlated with gallic acid and rutin. Further, the total anti-oxidant and DPPH radical scavenging activities were shown increased activity at 200 μg/mL concentrations. Furthermore, the excellent anti-bacterial alteration result was observed at 200 μg/mL concentration by minimum inhibition concentration. Therefore, the result was revealed that the marine algae Sargassum wightii has excellent phytochemical and anti-oxidant activities, and it has improved anti-bacterial activity against P. aeruginosa.  相似文献

Two concentrations (10-5M and 10-3M) of both GA3 and 2,4-D were used as foliar spray to evaluate the response of date palm (Phoenix dactylifera L.) cv. Khedri seedlings. They affected some of the anatomical characteristics of the first leaf emerging after the beginning of the spray. The high concentration of GA3 increased the size of the midrib and its vascular bundle numbers. Both low and high concentrations of 2,4-D inhibited the formation of the midrib. 2,4-D in both low and high concentrations decreased the number of vessels in both protoxylem and metaxylem and also decreased their diameters, where as GA3 in low and high concentrations have less effect on the number of vessels and its diameters. GA3 in high concentration increased the number of vascular bundles in 1mm long of the leaf blade, while 2,4-D in low and high concentrations decreased their numbers. 10-3M of 2,4-D increased the size and layers of special hypodermal cells.  相似文献

A solid-phase immunoadsorbent specific for terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase has been prepared. The enzyme from calf thymus and acute lymphoblastic leukemia cells binds to columns of this material. Bound enzyme can be eluted in an active form. Selective and rapid purification of terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase from crude extracts of cells containing this enzyme can be achieved by this method since the immunoadsorbent has no affinity for other cellular DNA polymerases.  相似文献

Glasshouse experiment was conducted to assess the impact of green chopped leaves of four test plants (Lantana camara, Ficus virens, Kigelia pinnata and Ficus bengalensis) and two nematicides (Phorate and Carbofuran) on the plant growth parameters of tomato cv. K25 and on the root-knot development. Results revealed that all the tested treatments significantly (p = 0.05) improved plant growth parameters and reduced root-knot development compared to control. Among the tested organic additives, chopped green leaves of Lantana camara added to soil gave the highest enhancement in plant growth parameters, including plant height, fresh and dry weight, number of fruits and fruit weight with the values of 94.2 cm, 106.8 g, 31.6 g, 7.2 and 153.3 g respectively, as well as a greater reduction of Meloidogyne javanica reproduction and development but exhibiting a lower response compared to nematicides. There was also significant reduction in root-knot development in tomato plants growing in other organic additive amended soil.  相似文献
