Theiler's murine encephalomyelitis viruses (TMEVs) belong to the Picornaviridae family and are divided into two groups, typified by strain GDVII virus and members of the TO (Theiler's original) group. The highly virulent GDVII group causes acute encephalitis in mice, while the TO group is less virulent and causes a chronic demyelinating disease which is associated with viral persistence in mice. This persistent central nervous system infection with demyelination resembles multiple sclerosis (MS) in humans and has thus become an important model for studying MS. It has been shown that some of the determinants associated with viral persistence are located on the capsid proteins of the TO group. Structural comparisons of two persistent strains (BeAn and DA) and a highly virulent strain (GDVII) showed that the most significant structural variations between these two groups of viruses are located on the sites that may influence virus binding to cellular receptors. Most animal viruses attach to specific cellular receptors that, in part, determine host range and tissue tropism. In this study, atomic models of TMEV chimeras were built with the known structures of GDVII, BeAn, and DA viruses. Comparisons among the known GDVII, BeAn, and DA structures as well as the predicted models for the TMEV chimeras suggested that a gap on the capsid surface next to the putative receptor binding site, composed of residues from VP1 and VP2, may be important in determining viral persistence by influencing virus attachment to cellular receptors, such as sialyloligosaccharides. Our results showed that sialyllactose, the first three sugar molecules of common oligosaccharides on the surface of mammalian cells, inhibits virus binding to the host cell and infection with the persistent BeAn virus but not the nonpersistent GDVII and chimera 39 viruses. 相似文献

About 336–444 bp mitochondrial D-loop region and tRNA gene were sequenced for 40 individuals of the giant panda which were
collected from Mabian, Meigu, Yuexi, Baoxing, Pingwu, Qingchuan, Nanping and Baishuijiang, respectively. 9 haplotypes were
found in 21 founders. The results showed that the giant panda has low genetic variations, and that there is no notable genetic
isolation among geographical populations. The ancestor of the living giant panda population perhaps appeared in the late Pleistocene,
and unfortunately, might have suffered bottleneck attacks. Afterwards, its genetic diversity seemed to recover to some extent.

广西九万山藓类植物区系分析及其对划分热带,亚热带分界线的意义 总被引:13,自引:0,他引:13
九万山位于广西北部的中央(25°10’~25°25’N,108°27’E),界于泛北极植物区和古热带植物区的交汇处。其主要植被为亚热带常绿阔叶林。最高海拔为1693m,最低处仅170m。经对1850号标本的鉴定,共计有藓类植物35科、101属和189种。本文分析了九万山的藓类植物区系成分,将其划分为 10种类型。其中东亚成分最为丰富(39.33%),热带、亚热带成分次之(38.20%),而温带成分居第三位(18.54%)。本文选择了九万山临近的五个地区加以比较。其中,金佛山与九万山藓类植物的属和种的相似性系数分别为60.68%和36.87%,神农架为57.29%和33.13%。尖峰岭为48.83%和22.29%,西双版纳为57.29%和29.63%。而我国东部的武夷山则为69.86%和39.57%,其相似性系数在相比较的五个山区中为最高。九万山区有4个特有属并明显受喜马拉雅的影响。特别值得注意的是,在九万山区藓类区系中约有7%的种类是典型的热带成分。根据定量和定性的分析,笔者认为九万山的藓类区系表现出由热带向亚热带过渡的特性,其分界线可能位于九万山的南侧。 相似文献

棕色固氮菌(Azotobacter vinelandii)固氮酶钼铁蛋白经邻菲口罗啉和O2 处理后,变为部分缺失FeMoco 和P-cluster的失活蛋白。与由K2CrO4、高柠檬酸铁、Na2S和二硫苏糖醇组成的重组液保温后,处理蛋白对乙炔和质子还原的活性都得以显著恢复;然而,它的吸收光谱和圆二色谱虽有明显恢复,但仍与还原钼铁蛋白有所不同。这表明,激活蛋白中也许存在功能与钼铁蛋白相似,而结构则有所差异的含铬(CrFe)蛋白 相似文献

干燥番茄(Lycopersicon esculentum Mill. cv. Moneym aker)种子浸种吸水有明显的3 个阶段,尽管种子不同部分吸水的速度不一样,但整粒种子需10~12 h 才能基本完成第一阶段的吸水。胚乳对种胚伸长和生长的机械压力明显阻碍种胚的吸水,即使在第二阶段整个种子水势与浸种溶液基本达到水分平衡时,种胚的水势仍然低于整个种子水势0.6~0.9 MPa。发芽过程中GA 和ABA不直接影响番茄种子吸水。番茄种胚水势与含水量的关系呈幂指数的正相关。无论在浸种还是渗控处理过程中,番茄种胚压力势的总变化趋势是下降的 相似文献

Zhong 5 is a partial amphiploid (2n = 56) between Triticum aestivum (2n = 42) and Thinopyrum intermedium (2n = 42) carrying all the chromosomes of wheat and seven pairs of chromosomes from Th. intermedium. Following further backcrossing to wheat, six independent stable 2n = 44 lines were obtained representing 4 disomic chromosome addition lines. One chromosome confers barley yellow dwarf virus (BYDV) resistance, whereas two other chromosomes carry leaf and stem rust resistance; one of the latter also confers stripe rust resistance. Using RFLP and isozyme markers we have shown that the extra chromosome in the Zhong 5-derived BYDV resistant disomic addition lines (Z1, Z2, or Z6) belongs to the homoeologous group 2. It therefore carries a different locus to the BYDV resistant group 7 addition, L1, described previously. The leaf, stem, and stripe rust resistant line (Z4) carries an added group 7 chromosome. The line Z3 has neither BYDV nor rust resistance, is not a group 2 or group 7 addition, and is probably a group 1 addition. The line Z5 is leaf and stem rust resistant, is not stripe rust resistant, and its homoeology remains unknown. 相似文献

玻璃体积血是眼外伤及某些眼病的常见并发症,且常严重损害视功能,为了寻找一种在早期能促进玻璃体积血吸收而又使用方便的药物,我们用~(51)铬标记红细胞之全血制成玻璃体积血模型,对蝮蛇抗栓酶(清栓酶)的疗效进行观察,结果证明蝮蛇抗栓酶对实验性玻璃体积血的清除有显著效果(P<0.001). 相似文献
