Three novel hexa-transition-metal complexes substituted tungstoarsenates, [Ni6(imi)6(B-α-H3AsW9O33)2]·2H2O (1), [Zn6(imi)6(B-α-H3AsW9O33)2]·2H2O (2) and [Mn6(imi)6(B-α-H3AsW9O33)2]·4H2O (3) (imi = imidazole), have been synthesized hydrothermally without using any polyoxoanion as precursor and characterized by elemental analyses, IR, TG and X-ray single-crystal diffraction. Compounds 1-3 are isostructural, composed of [B-α-H3AsW9O33]12− anions and [M6(imi)6]12+ complex cations (M = Ni, Zn and Mn), all M atoms are square pyramidal geometry, and held together to form hexagonal metallocycles by edge-sharing oxygen atoms. In compounds 2 and 3, [M6(imi)6(B-α-AsW9O33)2] (M = Zn, Mn) segments act as 12-connected nodes to form complicated 3D network via hydrogen-bonding interactions, respectively. Magnetic measurements for 1 show the presence of ferromagnetic interactions within the hexanuclear Ni2+ cations. 相似文献

Mechanical stretch, an important growth stimulus, results not only from pulsatile blood flow and diastolic stretch of the ventricles [cyclic stretch (CS)] but also from tissue expansion during growth [constant static stretch (SS)]. We compared growth factor receptor expression and vasculogenic/angiogenic responses of rat coronary microvascular endothelial cells (ECs) by exposing cells to CS (10% elongation at 30 cycles/min) and SS (constant 10% elongation). Both CS and SS increased VEGF receptor (VEGF-R)2 protein levels and the extent of tube formation and branching. Moreover, both CS and SS enhanced VEGF-induced cell proliferation and tube formation, indicating that both types of stretch increase the sensitivity of ECs to VEGF. Blockade of VEGF-R2 prevented the increases in EC proliferation and aggregate tube length. However, CS but not SS enhanced EC Tie-2 protein and migration. CS affected a greater increase in tube length and branch formation than did SS. A unique finding was that SS but not CS increased VEGFR-1 in ECs. Our study is the first to distinguish between the effects of CS and SS on growth factor receptor expression and rat coronary microvascular EC proliferation, migration, and tube formation. In conclusion, EC angiogenic responses to these two types of stretch display both differences and similarities, but both CS and SS are dependent on VEGF-R2 signaling for their vasculogenic/angiogenic effects. 相似文献

The non-enzymatic repair of DNA oxidative damage can occur in a purely chemical system, but data show that it might also occur in cells. Human hepatoma cells (SMMC-7721) and human hepatocyte cells (LO2) were treated with 200 μM H2O2 for 30 min to induce oxidative DNA damage quantified by amount of 8-OHdG and degree of DNA strand breaks, without inducing enzymatic repair. The dynamics of enzymatic repair activity quantified by unscheduled DNA synthesis, within 30 min after removal of H2O2 enzymatic repair mechanism has not been initiated. However, pre-incubation with low micromolar level polyphenols, quercetin or rutin can significantly attenuate DNA damage in both cell lines, indicating that the polyphenols did not work through an enzymatic mechanism. Unscheduled DNA synthesis after removal of H2O2 was also markedly decreased by quercetin and rutin. Combined with our previous studies of fast reaction chemistry, the inhibitory effect of polyphenols have to be assigned to non-enzymatic repair mechanism rather than to enzymatic repair mechanism or antioxidant mechanism. 相似文献

Salicylic acid (SA) is an important signal molecule in plants. Two pathways of SA biosynthesis have been proposed in plants. Biochemical studies using isotope feeding have suggested that plants synthesize SA from cinnamate produced by the activity of phenylalanine ammonia lyase (PAL). Silencing of PAL genes in tobacco or chemical inhibition of PAL activity in Arabidopsis, cucumber and potato reduces pathogen-induced SA accumulation. Genetic studies, on the other hand, indicate that the bulk of SA is produced from isochorismate. In bacteria, SA is synthesized from chorismate through two reactions catalyzed by isochorismate synthase (ICS) and isochorismate pyruvate lyase (IPL). Arabidopsis contains two ICS genes but has no gene encoding proteins similar to the bacterial IPL. Thus, how SA is synthesized in plants is not fully elucidated. Two recently identified Arabidopsis genes, PBS3 and EPS1, are important for pathogen-induced SA accumulation. PBS3 encodes a member of the acyl-adenylate/thioester-forming enzyme family and EPS1 encodes a member of the BAHD acyltransferase superfamily. PBS3 and EPS1 may be directly involved in the synthesis of an important precursor or regulatory molecule for SA biosynthesis. The cell surface antigen CD90 has recently been established as a promising marker for liver cancer stem cells. This study aimed to investigate potential implications of SHH/Gli signalling in CD90+ liver cancer stem cells. Correlation of the expression of SHH signalling components and CD90 in liver cancer cells and clinical tissues, as well as in enriched CD90+ liver cancer stem cells and the TCGA database, were analysed by quantitative RT‐PCR, Western blotting and flow cytometry. Functional analysis was conducted by siRNA‐mediated CD90, Gli1 and Gli3 gene knockdown, SHH treatment and application of the JAK2 inhibitor AZD1480 and IL6 neutralizing antibody in CD90+ liver cancer stem cells, followed by cell proliferation, migration, sphere formation and tumorigenicity assays. CD90 expression exhibited a high positive correlation with Gli1 and Gli3 in multiple liver cancer cell lines and human cancerous liver tissues, both of which showed a significant increase in liver cancer. Analysis of TCGA data revealed an association of CD90, Gli1 and Gli3 with a short overall survival and positive correlation between CD90 expression and Gli3 expression level. The stem cell potentials of CD90+ 97L liver cancer cells were greatly impaired by Gli1/3 knockdown with siRNA but enhanced by SHH treatment. Application of the JAK2 inhibitor AZD1480 and IL6 neutralizing antibody showed the CD90 and SHH/Gli‐regulated liver cancer stem cell functions were mediated by the IL6/JAK2/STAT3 pathway. The stem cell properties of CD90+ liver cancer cells are regulated by the downstream SHH/Gli and IL6/JAK2/STAT3 signalling pathways. 相似文献

The first population ecology study of the endangered Magnolia sargentiana Rehder & Wilson (Magnoliaceae) is reported in the paper. It is a protected species in China but little is known about its present status in the field. In 2007 and 2008 we surveyed the population and conservation status of M. sargentiana in the Provincial Mamize Nature Reserve and the National Meigu Dafengding Nature Reserve, Sichuan Province, southwestern China. Natural regeneration is poor because of unfavorable environmental conditions and anthropogenic disturbances. Flower buds and bark of M. sargentiana are used in traditional Chinese medicine and their collection by local people from 1983 to 1994 has led to dramatic population declines. The collection of flower buds and bark is now banned, but hewing branches for firewood and grazing continues to have a negative impact on the recovery of M. sargentiana populations. To protect the species we require a ban on hewing branches, closure of primary forest to reduce humans and ungulates, better education of local people, and increased awareness of wildlife conservation. 相似文献
