P.S.P. excretion in 15 minutes was increased by PGA2 given intravenously in as small a dose as 0.4 μg/min., and the effect was more prominent in case of lower P.S.P. excretion. The prothoracic glands (Pgs) taken from the last instar of the common armyworm, Pseudaletia separata, were cultured in various media for the purpose of finding a suitable medium for relatively long-term culture of Pgs. Among the tested culture media, MGM-450 medium without serum was the best to maintain PG cells viable for relatively long periods, and to continue to secrete ecdysteroids. Secretion of ecdysteroid by the PG in vitro became marked when the PG was taken from last instar larvae older than 2 days after the last molt. PGs cultured in any of the media secreted ecdysteroid only within the first 2 h after placing them in culture, however, in the MGM-450 medium, the PGs secreted ecdysteroid even after 5 days of culture. Cleavage patterns of mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) by restriction endonuclease analysis were examined in four Japanese Black cows, three Japanese Shorthorn cows, and six Holstein cows. Seventeen restriction enzymes which recognize six base pairs and two restriction enzymes which recognize four base pairs were used in this study. Polymorphism was observed with three restriction enzymes, HindIII, TaqI, and MspI, and was detected within the breeds. Nucleotide substitution was determined in the HindIII polymorphic site by DNA cloning and sequencing; this is C----T at position 10126 of the URF-3 region. Furthermore, the MspI and TaqI polymorphic sites were located on the physical map.  相似文献

Endopeptidase (azocaseolytic enzyme) and carboxypeptidase activitiesin cotyledons of germinating Vigna mungo seeds increased until3 days after the onset of imbibition and decreased thereafter.In detached and incubated cotyledons, the endopeptidase activityincreased only a little while the carboxypeptidase activitycontinued increasing even after 3 days of incubation. The activitiesof leucine-aminopeptidase and alanine-aminopeptidase, exceptfor that of one leucine-aminopeptidase isoenzyme relativelyabundantly present in unimbibed dry cotyledons, increased slightlyon the first day and declined during germination. In detachedcotyledons, the activities maintained their initial levels throughoutthe incubation period. When cotyledons were detached from germinatingseedlings on days 2 and 4 then incubated, the endopeptidaseactivity started to decrease just after removal of the axisbut the carboxypeptidase activity increased more markedly thanwhen the axis remained attached. Exogenously supplied GA3, kinetin,IAA, or their combinations, showed no significant effect onthe developmental patterns of the endopeptidase and carboxypeptidaseactivities in cotyledons. These results are discussed in relationto the role of the axis in controlling peptidase formation incotyledons of germinating V. mungo seeds. Recently, neuroligins (NLs)3 and 4X have received much attention as autism-related genes. Here, we identified syntrophin-gamma2 (SNTG2) as a de novo binding partner of NL3. SNTG2 also bound to NL4X and NL4Y. Interestingly, the binding was influenced by autism-related mutations, implying that the impaired interaction between NLs and SNTG2 contributes to the etiology of autism.  相似文献
