人工饲养长江江豚的同性性行为和自慰行为   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
雌雄性之间的性行为对鲸类的生存和繁衍有着极其重要的意义。然而不具有繁殖功能的同性性行为和自慰行为在多种鲸类中存在。因此对鲸类非繁殖性性行为研究,将有助于深入认识该物种性行为特点和规律,并解决室内饲养可能存在的问题以及促进可控性人工繁殖的成功。本研究以人工饲养的7头长江江豚为研究对象,定义并描述了14种性行为。其中,同性之间的性行为定义为同性性行为,雌雄个体单独的性行为定义为自慰行为。雄性同性性行为发现于所有定义的性行为中,但雌性同性性行为仅在7种性行为中观察到。同性性行为(3633次)占总性行为(5563次)的65.31%,自慰行为(254次)占4.57%。同性性行为中,雄性之间的同性性行为(3438次,94.63%)远多于雌性同性性行为(195次,5.37%)。两头有父子关系的江豚(阿福和淘淘)之间的雄性同性性行为最多(1921次,55.88%),雄性江豚之间的同性性行为可能存在结盟竞争关系或教育练习作用。两头青少年雌豚(F7和F9)之间的同性性行为最活跃(117次,60.00%),雌性江豚之间的同性性行为很可能具有结伴交流的功能。  相似文献

Background

DFR (different region) analysis has been developed for typing Yesinia pestis in our previous study, and in this study, we extended this method by using 23 DFRs to investigate 909 Chinese Y. pestis strains for validating DFR-based genotyping method and better understanding adaptive microevolution of Y. pestis.

Methodology/Principal Findings

On the basis of PCR and Bionumerics data analysis, 909 Y. pestis strains were genotyped into 32 genomovars according to their DFR profiles. New terms, Major genomovar and Minor genomovar, were coined for illustrating evolutionary relationship between Y. pestis strains from different plague foci and different hosts. In silico DFR profiling of the completed or draft genomes shed lights on the evolutionary scenario of Y. pestis from Y. pseudotuberculosis. Notably, several sequenced Y. pestis strains share the same DFR profiles with Chinese strains, providing data for revealing the global plague foci expansion.

Conclusions/significance

Distribution of Y. pestis genomovars is plague focus-specific. Microevolution of biovar Orientalis was deduced according to DFR profiles. DFR analysis turns to be an efficient and inexpensive method to portrait the genome plasticity of Y. pestis based on horizontal gene transfer (HGT). DFR analysis can also be used as a tool in comparative and evolutionary genomic research for other bacteria with similar genome plasticity.  相似文献

Seven different tree-ring parameters were obtained from Chinese pine (Pinus tabulaeformis) in the Changling Mountains, China. The chronologies were analyzed individually and then compared with each other. The climate response analysis shows that total precipitation (September–July) is the main factor limiting the radial growth of Chinese pine in the Changling Mountains. Thus, the residual earlywood width chronology was used to estimate precipitation (September–July) for the period AD 1691–2006, and explained 46.9% of the precipitation variance. Drought events in our reconstruction are compared to historical archives for Gansu and north-central China. The results reveal the climatic extremes over much of Gansu. Some events have had profound impacts on the Gansu people over the past several centuries. Spatial analysis shows that the precipitation reconstruction has strong common signals for North-central China. The reconstructed series is correlated significantly with Helan Mountains Palmer drought severity index (PDSI), as well as with previous results from Jiuquan, Shandan, Huashan, Luya Mountains, and even the state of Mongolia. Our results suggest that some dry periods are coincident with solar minima over the past several hundred years. Multitaper spectral analysis reveals the existence of significant 24.4-year, 12.2-year, and 2.4- to 3.4-year periods of variability.  相似文献

An enzymeless glucose biosensor based on polypyrrole nanofibers-supporting Au nanoparticles (Au/PPyNFs) was investigated in this study. The Au/PPyNFs heterogeneous composite materials were synthesized in-situ via hydrogen bonding interactions for the assembly of polyethyleneimine (PEI) on the surface of polypyrrole nanofibers (PPyNFs). By changing the molar ratio of PPy to HAuCl(4), Au/PPyNFs with different Au loadings were obtained. The morphology and composition of Au/PPyNFs were characterized using SEM, TEM, FTIR, XRD and XPS, respectively. The hybrids exhibited a high electrocatalytic activity toward glucose oxidation, which is prerequisite for the catalysts to be applied in amperometric glucose sensors. By using the nonenzymatic glucose sensor based on Au/PPyNFs, 0.2-13mM glucose can be detected with a sensitivity of 1.003μAcm(-2)mM(-1) and a good linearity (R(2)=0.9993) between current density and glucose concentration. The proposed glucose sensor provides a promising strategy to construct fast, sensitive, and anti-interfering amperometric sensors for early diagnosis and prevention of diabetes.  相似文献

Breathing rates are often collected both in the wild and in captivity to inform on cetaceans' internal state. However, few studies have investigated the effect of various factors on this breathing rate. We investigated the variations of individual and synchronous breathing rates depending on individual features (species, sex, age), displayed behavior, social parameters (social grouping), and environmental parameters (diurnal variation, presence of enrichment, unusual events, and presence of visitors in three groups of captive odontocetes (Yangtze finless porpoises, Neophocaena asiaeorentalis asiaeorientalis, East‐Asian finless porpoises, Neophocaena asiaeorentalis sunameri, bottlenose dolphins, Tursiops truncatus). Both individual and synchronous breathing rates were the highest when animals engaged in energetic or social behaviors. Individual breathing rate decreased but synchronous breathing rate increased with the presence of enrichment. Both rates increased during unusual events (e.g., pool cleaning, presence of a diver in the pool, noise, transport) and when public was present for Yangtze finless porpoises. Finally, synchronous breathing rate increased for Yangtze finless porpoises when experiencing social separation. We suggest that individual and synchronous breathing rates are useful parameters to measure, both in wild and captive animals, to obtain information on their arousal/stress state. However, these rates should be interpreted with caution and should be used together with other parameters to allow more accurate inferences.  相似文献
