Although Kolmogorov-Smirnov (KS) statistic is a widely used method, some weaknesses exist in investigating abrupt Change Point (CP) problems, e.g. it is time-consuming and invalid sometimes. To detect abrupt change from time series fast, a novel method is proposed based on Haar Wavelet (HW) and KS statistic (HWKS). First, the two Binary Search Trees (BSTs), termed TcA and TcD, are constructed by multi-level HW from a diagnosed time series; the framework of HWKS method is implemented by introducing a modified KS statistic and two search rules based on the two BSTs; and then fast CP detection is implemented by two HWKS-based algorithms. Second, the performance of HWKS is evaluated by simulated time series dataset. The simulations show that HWKS is faster, more sensitive and efficient than KS, HW, and T methods. Last, HWKS is applied to analyze the electrocardiogram (ECG) time series, the experiment results show that the proposed method can find abrupt change from ECG segment with maximal data fluctuation more quickly and efficiently, and it is very helpful to inspect and diagnose the different state of health from a patient''s ECG signal. 相似文献

We address how spatial frequency selectivity arises in Macaque primary visual cortex (V1) by simulating V1 with a large-scale
network model consisting of O(104) excitatory and inhibitory integrate-and-fire neurons with realistic synaptic conductances. The new model introduces variability
of the widths of subregions in V1 neuron receptive fields. As a consequence different model V1 neurons prefer different spatial
frequencies. The model cortex has distributions of spatial frequency selectivity and of preference that resemble experimental
findings from the real V1. Two main sources of spatial frequency selectivity in the model are the spatial arrangement of feedforward
excitation, and cortical nonlinear suppression, a result of cortical inhibition.

Two novel lanthanum(III) complexes containing 2-methylene-1,10-phenanthroline units bridged by aliphatic diamines were synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR, NMR, thermal analysis and conductance measurements. They have been assayed for anticancer activity in vitro against HL-60 (human leukocytoma) cells, PC-3MIE8 (human prostate carcinoma) cells, BGC-823 (human stomach carcinoma) cells, MDA-MB-435 (human galactophore carcinoma) cells, Bel-7402 (human liver carcinoma) cells, and Hela (human cervix carcinoma) cells. The results show that the two complexes exhibit good cytotoxic activities against different cell lines in general, especially more effective than cisplatin against Bel-7402, BGC-823 and MDA-MB-435 cell lines. DNA-binding studies indicate that, besides the intercalation, the complexes bind to DNA by the other interaction(s), which might be responsible for the production of more compact DNA, coinciding with more A-like feature of DNA as suggested by CD spectra. 相似文献

The weevil Pagiophloeus tsushimanus Morimoto (Coleoptera: Curculionidae), native to Eastern Asia, is a wood-boring pest that causes severe damage to camphor trees (Cinnamomum sp.) in Shanghai, China. Other Lauraceae tree species that grew sympatrically with this pest in close proximity could face a potential threat. To assess the potential risks of host shift, we explored the phenotypic associations between preference and performance in P. tsushimanus reared on three Lauraceae tree species. In a no-choice experiment offering branches of each plant as diet material and oviposition sites, we found that individuals reared on Cinnamomum camphora (L.) Presl (Laurales: Lauraceae) exhibited the strongest performance with shorter development time, higher survival and growth rate in the immature stage, longer longevity and greater fecundity in adults. In contrast, those on novel Lauraceae tree species (Cinnamomum chekiangensis Nakai and Phoebe chekiangensis Shang) had difficulty completing their whole life cycle due to significantly lower survival and reproduction. In a multiple-choice experiment, C. camphora was established as the preferred host. However, we found that the larval experiences on the non-preferred host plants contributed to an increased preference for that plant species. These results indicated that both the preference-performance hypothesis and the Hopkins’ host selection principle are applicable in this weevil under experimental conditions. It is possible that although the weevil performed poorly on two novel Lauraceae tree species, under favourable conditions their surviving offspring could evolve into a new host-specific population. Recent studies have identified common variants in or near GC, CYP2R1 and NADSYN1/DHCR7 to be associated with 25-hydroxyvitamin D [25(OH)D] levels in European populations. We aimed to examine whether these variants
also influence 25(OH)D levels in Chinese. Seven common variants were successfully genotyped and tested for associations with
plasma 25(OH)D levels in a population-based cohort of 3,210 Chinese Hans from Beijing and Shanghai. Six common variants at
GC (rs4588, rs7041, rs2282679 and rs1155563) and NADSYN1/DHCR7 (rs3829251 and rs1790349) loci were all significantly associated with lower plasma 25(OH)D levels (−0.036 ≤ β ≤ −0.076 per risk-allele, P ≤ 5.7 × 10−5), while CYP2R1-rs2060793 showed a trend toward association with 25(OH)D levels in the Shanghai subpopulation (P = 0.08), but not in the Beijing subpopulation (P = 0.82). Haplotype-based association analyses of the four GC variants showed that only the haplotype that contained all risk-alleles (TACC) was significantly associated with lower plasma
25(OH)D levels (β = −0.085, P = 2.3 × 10−9), while the haplotype containing the risk-alleles of rs4588 and rs2282679 (TATC) was marginally associated with lower 25(OH)D
levels (β = −0.054, P = 0.0562) when compared with GCTA haplotype carrying the four protective alleles. Most notably, conditional analyses showed
that only GC-rs4588 and GC-rs2282679 (r

Although developmental stuttering has been extensively studied with structural and task-based functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), few studies have focused on resting-state brain activity in this disorder. We investigated resting-state brain activity of stuttering subjects by analyzing the amplitude of low-frequency fluctuation (ALFF), region of interest (ROI)-based functional connectivity (FC) and independent component analysis (ICA)-based FC. Forty-four adult males with developmental stuttering and 46 age-matched fluent male controls were scanned using resting-state fMRI. ALFF, ROI-based FCs and ICA-based FCs were compared between male stuttering subjects and fluent controls in a voxel-wise manner. Compared with fluent controls, stuttering subjects showed increased ALFF in left brain areas related to speech motor and auditory functions and bilateral prefrontal cortices related to cognitive control. However, stuttering subjects showed decreased ALFF in the left posterior language reception area and bilateral non-speech motor areas. ROI-based FC analysis revealed decreased FC between the posterior language area involved in the perception and decoding of sensory information and anterior brain area involved in the initiation of speech motor function, as well as increased FC within anterior or posterior speech- and language-associated areas and between the prefrontal areas and default-mode network (DMN) in stuttering subjects. ICA showed that stuttering subjects had decreased FC in the DMN and increased FC in the sensorimotor network.
