The primary goal was to address several questions with regard to how soil seed banks change in a successional series. How does the composition of the viable seed bank change, and how does the relationship of the soil seed bank and vegetation change with succession? Can the seed bank be regarded as a potential as a source of seeds for wetland restoration? We collected soil seed bank samples and sampled the vegetation in four different successional stages and used the NMDS (nonmetric multidimensional scaling) to evaluate the relationship of species composition between the seed banks and vegetation. The difference of seed density and species richness in different habitats and soil depths also was compared. Viable seeds of half (37) the species in the early-successional stage were found in all the successional stages. Similarity between seed bank and vegetation increased with succession. Both seed density and species richness in the seed bank increased with successional age and decreased with soil depth. The majority of species from the early-successional stage produced long-lived seeds. Seed density and species richness increased with succession, mainly as a result of increasing seed production, and hypotheses predicting decreasing density of buried seeds and species richness were not confirmed. Seed banks play a minor role in contributing to the regeneration of vegetation, and managers cannot rely on soil-stored seed banks for restoration of wetlands. 相似文献

LiNixMnyCo1?x?yO2 (NMC) cathode materials with Ni ≥ 0.8 have attracted great interest for high energy‐density lithium‐ion batteries (LIBs) but their practical applications under high charge voltages (e.g., 4.4 V and above) still face significant challenges due to severe capacity fading by the unstable cathode/electrolyte interface. Here, an advanced electrolyte is developed that has a high oxidation potential over 4.9 V and enables NMC811‐based LIBs to achieve excellent cycling stability in 2.5–4.4 V at room temperature and 60 °C, good rate capabilities under fast charging and discharging up to 3C rate (1C = 2.8 mA cm?2), and superior low‐temperature discharge performance down to ?30 °C with a capacity retention of 85.6% at C/5 rate. It is also demonstrated that the electrode/electrolyte interfaces, not the electrolyte conductivity and viscosity, govern the LIB performance. This work sheds light on a very promising strategy to develop new electrolytes for fast‐charging high‐energy LIBs in a wide‐temperature range. 相似文献

Cucurbitacin B (CuB), a triterpenoid compound isolated from Cucurbitaceae plants, has been reported as a promising anti-cancer agent, yet its action mechanism is still controversial. In this study, we explored the potential mechanism of CuB in murine B16F10 melanoma cells. Anti-proliferation and anti-invasion effects were assessed in cultured cells, and in vivo anti-tumor activity was evaluated in a murine subcutaneous melanoma model. Flow cytometry was adopted to analyze cell cycle distribution and reactive oxygen species (ROS) levels. Actin levels were determined by western blot analysis, and the profiles of differential expressed proteins were identified by a quantitative proteomic approach. The results showed that CuB exerted inhibitory effects on cell proliferation, colony formation, as well as migration and invasion potential of the melanoma cells. The growth of subcutaneous melanoma was significantly inhibited in mice treated with CuB when compared with control group. Furthermore, CuB treatment caused rapid cell membrane blebbing and deformation, and induced G(2)/M-phase arrest and formation of multiploid cells. Notably, the G-actin pool was rapidly depleted and actin aggregates were formed quickly after CuB treatment. A number of cytoskeleton-regulatory proteins were differentially regulated. Blockage of ROS production significantly reduced the G-actin depletion ability and the anti-tumor activity of CuB. These findings indicate that CuB induces rapid depletion of the G-actin pool through ROS-dependent actin aggregation in melanoma cells, which may at least partly account for its anti-tumor activity. 相似文献

杂草给水稻(Oryza sativa)生产带来严重损失,利用水稻自身化感作用被认为是对环境友好的杂草控制方法。稻壳酮A和B是水稻抑制杂草的主要化感物质,其中稻壳酮B是至今发现最高效的天然除草剂之一,具有很好的应用潜力。稻壳酮B可以从水稻根系释放到土壤中抑制周围稗草等植物的种子萌芽和生长。稻壳酮B的浓度大于3 nmol·mL-1时就能抑制水芹和莴苣的根和胚轴生长,同时稻壳酮A和B是水稻重要的植保素,可有效抑制水稻病原菌比如稻瘟病菌(Magnaporthe grisea)等。此外,稻瘟病菌感染可诱导水稻合成更多的稻壳酮。该文主要对国内外有关水稻化感物质稻壳酮的性质、分布状况、化感作用、生物合成途径、检测方法、人工合成方法和影响因素等方面的研究进行了综述。在此基础上进一步探讨稻壳酮研究过程中简捷检测方法、诱导因子和人工合成等问题。 相似文献

Rab3 GTPases are known to play key a role in vesicular trafficking, and express highest in brain and endocrine tissues. In mammals, Rab3 GTPases are paralogs unlike in insect. In this study, we cloned Rab3 from the silk gland tissue of silkworm Bombyx mori, and identified it as BmRab3. Our in silico analysis indicated that BmRab3 is an isoform with a theoretical isoelectric point and molecular weight of 5.52 and 24.3 kDa, respectively. Further, BmRab3 showed the C‐terminal hypervariability for GGT2 site but having two other putative guanine nucleotide exchange factor/GDP dissociation inhibitor interaction sites. Multiple alignment sequence indicated high similarities of BmRab3 with Rab3 isoforms of other species. The phylogeny tree showed BmRab3 clustered between the species of Tribolium castaneum and Aedes aegypti. Meanwhile, the expression analysis of BmRab3 showed the highest expression in middle silk glands (MSGs) than all other tissues in the third day of fifth‐instar larva. Simultaneously, we showed the differential expression of BmRab3 in the early instar larva development, followed by higher expression in male than female pupae. In vivo dsRNA interference of BmRab3 reduced the expression of BmRab3 by 75% compared to the control in the MSGs in the first day. But as the worm grew to the third day, the difference of BmRab3 between knockdown and control was only about 10%. The use of the BRAF inhibitor vemurafenib exhibits drug resistance in the treatment of thyroid cancer (TC), and finding more effective multitarget combination therapies may be an important solution. In the present study, we found strong correlations between Ref-1 high expression and BRAF mutation, lymph node metastasis, and TNM stage. The oxidative stress environment induced by structural activation of BRAF upregulates the expression of Ref-1, which caused intrinsic resistance of PTC to vemurafenib. Combination inhibition of the Ref-1 redox function and BRAF could enhance the antitumor effects of vemurafenib, which was achieved by blocking the action of Ref-1 on BRAF proteins. Furthermore, combination treatment could cause an overload of autophagic flux via excessive AMPK protein activation, causing cell senescence and cell death in vitro. And combined administration of Ref-1 and vemurafenib in vivo suppressed PTC cell growth and metastasis in a cell-based lung metastatic tumor model and xenogeneic subcutaneous tumor model. Collectively, our study provides evidence that Ref-1 upregulation via constitutive activation of BRAF in PTC contributes to intrinsic resistance to vemurafenib. Combined treatment with a Ref-1 redox inhibitor and a BRAF inhibitor could make PTC more sensitive to vemurafenib and enhance the antitumor effects of vemurafenib by further inhibiting the MAPK pathway and activating the excessive autophagy and related senescence process.Subject terms: Cancer therapeutic resistance, Head and neck cancer 相似文献
