The insoluble collagen from methylcholanthrene induced sarcoma was isolated and characterized. It contains more glycine, hydroxyproline and acidic amino acids than normal connective tissue collagen. An anionic character of tumour collagen was stated (pI 6.1). No typical collagen subunits in this protein were found. The tumour collagen is strongly bound to acidic glycoprotein containing a significant amount of hydroxylysine. Such an insoluble complex is resistant to the dispersing action of EDTA. Ionizing radiation, beta-propiolactone, and acetylethyleneimine were compared for their ability as virus-inactivating agents for the preparation of rabies vaccine. Each agent reduced viral infectivity exponentially; ionizing radiation also destroyed viral hemagglutinin. The vaccine prepared by ionizing radiation was equal or superior to that prepared by beta-propiolactone in its ability to protect mice from rabies infection. The acetylethyleneimine-treated vaccine was a less potent immunogen.  相似文献

A new pulse sequence exploiting double- and zero-quantum evolution of two-spin 15N–13C coherence is proposed for the accurate measurements of 2J N( i ),C( i - 1) coupling constants. Application of the new experiment is presented for 13C,15N-labeled ubiquitin sample. Vasoactive Intestinal Peptide (VIP) and Pituitary Adenylyl Cyclase Activating Peptide (PACAP) are two closely related neuropeptides in the secretin family. They are widely expressed in the central and peripheral nervous systems, where they are classically thought to act as neurotransmitters or neuromodulators. They interact with high affinity receptors to regulate numerous behaviors as well as gastrointestinal, endocrine, cardiopulmonary, reproductive and immune functions. The recent generation of mice that specifically lack or overexpress VIP, PACAP or their receptors has yielded much new knowledge and enabled investigators to better understand the biological roles of these peptides and their impact on health.
