This paper presents a plant phenological model based on genotypextemperaturexphotoperiodinteraction (GPTmodel). In the model, rate of development towardsa specified stage (e.g. flowering) for a given genotype is composedof three components: the genotype's maximum rate of development;any delay due to a non-optimal temperature; and any delay dueto a photoperiod response. It is assumed that development tothe specified stage is an autonomous process established bymost, if not all, genes other than the vernalization genes andthe photoperiod genes; and that this autonomous process is delayedby any activity of the photoperiod genes. Since all physiologicalprocesses are modulated by temperature, any photoperiod responseis inevitably a photoperiodxtemperature interaction. This interactionis simulated by assuming that the photoperiod gene activityoccurs only beyond a critical photoperiod (Pc) and is enlargedby temperature above a base temperature (Tbp) that allows thephotoperiod gene activity. The model is written asR=1/Db-St(T-Topt)2-Sp(T-Tbp)|P-Pc|, whereRis the expected rate of development to the specifiedstage under any combination of temperature (T) and photoperiod(P). Coastal heath is becoming increasingly fragmented, resulting in reduced pollinator abundance affecting species viability. The reproductive ecology and inbreeding of a common coastal heath species, Boronia falcifolia (Rutaceae), was investigated. Pollination observations and experiments were carried out at one site, and inbreeding was assessed using genetic markers at eight populations. Four pollination treatments were assessed: cross-pollination, self-pollination, autogamous pollination and open (insect) pollination. Boronia falcifolia was found to be highly self-compatible, frequently setting seeds from autogamous pollination. There were no significant differences between the autogamous, self and cross pollen treatments for any measures of reproductive success (pollen tube growth, fruit set, swollen locules and seed production). Insect activity resulted in fewer seeds per fruit than hand cross pollination, although pollinator visits were few. All populations studied were highly inbred. Autogamous self-pollination is widespread in B. falcifolia and this combined with its ability to vegetatively regenerate enhances its potential for survival when pollinators are few. 相似文献

Morphological, cultural, and biochemical criteria that have been used in describing lower trypanosomatids, genera Blastocrithidia, Crithidia, Leptomonas, Herpetomonas, Rhynchoidomonas, and Phytomonas are reviewed. 5-Aminolevulinic acid (ALA), a precursor of porphyrin synthesis, increased the production of various porphyrin compounds in Candida guilliermondii cells. Metalloporphyrins and protoporphyrin IX (PPIX) were predominantly accumulated, respectively, at ALA concentrations of 0.2-0.4 mM and at those higher than 1.5 mM. 2,2;-Dipyridyl which complexed with bivalent metals significantly increased the content of endogenous PPIX even at ALA concentrations lower than 0.5 mM.
