Two aerobic bacteria RNBS1 and RNBS3 capable to degrade and utilize sucrose–glutamic acid Maillard products (SGMPs) as carbon, nitrogen and energy source were isolated and characterized as Alcaligenes faecalis (DQ659619) and Bacillus cereus (DQ659620) respectively by 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis. In present study, mixed bacterial culture was found more effective compared to axenic culture RNBS1 and RNBS3 decolourizing 73.79%, 66.80% and 62.56% SGMPs, respectively. The SGMPs catabolizing enzyme was characterized as manganese dependent peroxidase (MnP) by SDS–PAGE yielding a single band of 43 KDa. Further, the LC-MS–MS and other spectrophotometric analysis have revealed that most of the SGMPs detected in control were diminished from bacteria treated samples. The disappearance of SGMPs from bacteria treated samples could be related with the degradation of SGMPs.  相似文献

Several secondary metabolites are present in Lantana camara L. as its leaves serve as reservoirs for various bioactive compounds. Callus cultures of L. camara were induced from leaf discs incubated on Murashige and Skoog medium supplemented with 5 μM 6-benzyladenine, 1 μM 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid, and 1 μM α-naphthalene acetic acid (NAA). An aqueous extract (0.23%), obtained from these calli (50 g dry mass), had an apparent cytotoxic effect on HeLa cells with an IC50 value of 1,500 μg/ml in 36 h. A dose-time dependent activity of the extract was established wherein higher dosage exhibited increased activity; however, over time cell necrosis was observed.  相似文献

Rhizosphere microorganisms possessing phytase activity are considered important for rendering phytate-P available to plants. In the present study, Citrobacter braakii phytase gene (appA) was over-expressed in rhizobacteria possessing plant growth promoting (PGP) traits for increasing their potential as bioinoculants. AppA was cloned under the lac promoter in the broad host-range expression vector pBBR1MCS2. Transformation of the recombinant construct pCBappA resulted in high constitutive phytase activity in all of the eight rhizobacterial strains belonging to genera Pantoea, Citrobacter, Enterobacter, Pseudomonas (two strains), Rhizobium (two strains) and Ensifer that were studied. Transgenic rhizobacterial strains were found to display varying level of phytase activity, ranging from 10 folds to 538 folds higher than the corresponding control strains. Transgenic derivative of Pseudomonas fluorescens CHA0, a well-characterized plant growth promoting rhizobacterium, showed highest expression of phytase (~8 U/ mg) activity in crude extracts. Although all transformants showed high phytase activity, rhizobacteria having ability to secrete organic acid, showed significantly higher release of P from Ca-phytate in buffered minimal media. AppA over-expressing rhizobacteria showed increased P content, dry weight (shoot) or shoot/ root ratio of mung bean (Vigna radiata) plants, to different extents, when grown in semi solid agar (SSA) medium containing Na-phytate or Ca-phytate as the P sources. This is the first report of over-expression of phytase in rhizobacterial strains and its exploitation for plant growth enhancement.  相似文献

Nodular lymphocyte-predominant Hodgkin lymphoma (NLPHL), accounts for ~5% of all cases of Hodgkin lymphoma and is characterized by involvement of the peripheral lymph nodes. NLPHL occurs in young adults and is associated with frequent relapses. In 3% to 7% of cases, NLPHL progresses to a diffuse large B cell lymphoma. Furthermore, a proportion of NLPHL also have areas with features of T cell/histiocyte-rich large B cell lymphoma (THRLBCL), either at presentation or on follow-up. Here, we describe a 32-year-old man who presented to the emergency department with small bowel perforation. The resected small bowel showed full-thickness mural ulceration and involvement by a lymphoma with features of NLPHL that also had areas resembling THRLBCL. The patient had axillary lymphadenopathy, biopsy of which showed NLPHL with focal THRLBCL-like areas. Such a lymphoma presenting as small intestinal lesion/perforation has not been reported in the literature before. We take this opportunity to review the literature on extranodal presentations of NLPHL and discuss the natural history of this disease.  相似文献

BackgroundIn 2005, Bangladesh, India and Nepal agreed to eliminate visceral leishmaniasis (VL) as a public health problem. The approach to this was through improved case detection and treatment, and controlling transmission by the sand fly vector Phlebotomus argentipes, with indoor residual spraying (IRS) of insecticide. Initially, India applied DDT with stirrup pumps for IRS, however, this did not reduce transmission. After 2015 onwards, the pyrethroid alpha-cypermethrin was applied with compression pumps, and entomological surveillance was initiated in 2016.MethodsEight sentinel sites were established in the Indian states of Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal. IRS coverage was monitored by household survey, quality of insecticide application was measured by HPLC, presence and abundance of the VL vector was monitored by CDC light traps, insecticide resistance was measured with WHO diagnostic assays and case incidence was determined from the VL case register KAMIS.ResultsComplete treatment of houses with IRS increased across all sites from 57% in 2016 to 70% of houses in 2019, rising to >80% if partial house IRS coverage is included (except West Bengal). The quality of insecticide application has improved compared to previous studies, average doses of insecticide on filters papers ranged from 1.52 times the target dose of 25mg/m2 alpha-cypermethrin in 2019 to 1.67 times in 2018. Resistance to DDT has continued to increase, but the vector was not resistant to carbamates, organophosphates or pyrethroids. The annual and seasonal abundance of P. argentipes declined between 2016 to 2019 with an overall infection rate of 0.03%. This was associated with a decline in VL incidence for the blocks represented by the sentinel sites from 1.16 per 10,000 population in 2016 to 0.51 per 10,000 in 2019.ConclusionThrough effective case detection and management reducing the infection reservoirs for P. argentipes in the human population combined with IRS keeping P. argentipes abundance and infectivity low has reduced VL transmission. This combination of effective case management and vector control has now brought India within reach of the VL elimination targets.  相似文献
