The photochemical reaction between aromatic carbonyl compounds and 3-furylmethanol derivatives occurs with high regioselectivity. In most of the experiments formation of oxetanes occurs at the hydroxyalkylated double bond. With chiral 1-(3-furyl)alkanols the reaction occurs with good-high stereoselectivity. In the case of 1-(3-furyl)-benzyl alcohol the stereoselectivity can be explained on the basis of the conformers of the reagent, assuming the formation of a complex between the carbonyl compound and the hydroxyl group. 相似文献

The aim of this study is to investigate the blood perfusion and the inflammatory response of the myocardial infarct area after transplanting a hyaluronan‐based scaffold (HYAFF®11) with bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs). Nine‐week‐old female pigs were subjected to a permanent left anterior descending coronary artery ligation for 4 weeks. According to the kind of the graft, the swine subjected to myocardial infarction were divided into the HYAFF®11, MSCs, HYAFF®11/MSCs and untreated groups. The animals were killed 8 weeks after coronary ligation. Scar perfusion, evaluated by Contrast Enhanced Ultrasound echography, was doubled in the HYAFF®11/MSCs group and was comparable with the perfusion of the healthy, non‐infarcted hearts. The inflammation score of the MSCs and HYAFF®11/MSCs groups was near null, revealing the role of the grafted MSCs in attenuating the cell infiltration, but not the foreign reaction strictly localized around the fibres of the scaffold. Apart from the inflammatory response, the native tissue positively interacted with the HYAFF®11/MSCs construct modifying the extracellular matrix with a reduced presence of collagene and increased amount of proteoglycans. The border‐zone cardiomyocytes also reacted favourably to the graft as a lower degree of cellular damage was found. This study demonstrates that the transplantation in the myocardial infarct area of autologous MSCs supported by a hyaluronan‐based scaffold restores blood perfusion and almost completely abolishes the inflammatory process following an infarction. These beneficial effects are superior to those obtained after grafting only the scaffold or MSCs, suggesting that a synergic action was achieved using the cell‐integrated polymer construct. 相似文献

Wistar rats were fed a normal protein (25% casein) or an isoenergetic low protein (8% casein) diet from the day of birth to weaning on day 21. Litters were killed at weaning and cerebral cortex was removed. Tubulin was prepared by centrifugation at 100,000 g, 4°C, as described by Shelansky et al. [Proc. Natn. Acad. Sci. U.S.A. 70, 765–768 (1973)]. Cold-insoluble tubulin was recovered in the pellet (Pl) fraction and cold-soluble tubulin in the supernatant (Sl) fraction. Alpha and beta tubulin were quantified by electrophoretic and immunological methods in both fractions. Our results indicated that malnutrition enhanced the ratio of cold-insoluble-tubulin-to-cold-soluble-tubulin. Furthermore malnutrition induced an increased in vitro incorporation of 32P into both soluble and insoluble tubulins. Although tubulin phosphorylation has been related to tubulin stability properties, we cannot unequivocally ascribe the increased insoluble/soluble tubulin ratio with malnutrition to increased in vitro incorporation of 32P. 相似文献

ABSTRACT For decades, researchers have successfully used ground‐based surveys to understand localized spatial and temporal patterns in stopover habitat use by migratory birds. Recent technological advances with WSR‐88D radar now allow such investigations on much broader spatial scales. Both methods are assumed to accurately quantify patterns in migrant bird communities, yet information is lacking regarding relationships between radar estimates of migration and different ground‐based monitoring methods. From 2005 to 2007, we monitored migrant communities on or near two Department of Defense installations in the spring (Ft. Polk Military Complex, LA; U.S. Army Test and Evaluation Command, Yuma Proving Ground, AZ) and on two installations in the fall (Ft. Polk Military Complex, LA; Eglin Air Force Base, FL) using both ground‐based transect surveys and radar imagery of birds aloft. We modeled daily changes in migrant abundance and positive and negative species turnover measured on the ground as a function of radar estimates of migrant exodus and input densities. Radar data were not significant predictors of any response variable in any season either in the southeastern or southwestern United States, indicating a disparity between the results obtained using different methods. Multiple unique sources of error associated with each technique likely contributed to the conflicting outcomes, and researchers should take great care when selecting monitoring methods appropriate to address research questions, effects of management practices, or when comparing the results of migration studies using different survey techniques. 相似文献

Twenty-one cases of non-scleronodular Hodgkin's disease with variable lymphocyte contents were studied immunophenotypically and quantitatively to analyse the distribution of different lymphocyte populations and to determine whether selective loss of lymphocyte subpopulations accompanies overall lymphocyte depletion. In Hodgkin's tissue B-cells were scanty and unevenly distributed in samples with both many and few lymphocytes. Several large B, LN1-positive (possibly activated) cells were observed in a few cases. CD3-positive T-lymphocytes predominated in all cases; the same cells were also UCHL1-positive, thus expressing characteristics of mature T-memory cells. CD4-positive lymphocytes were usually more numerous than CD8-positive lymphocytes, but quantitative evaluation of the latter showed that they did not decrease in proportion to any diminution of the whole lymphocyte population. This finding suggests that in the process of lymphocyte depletion more CD4-positive lymphocytes than CD8-positive lymphocytes are lost, and this might account for the impairment of cell-mediated immunity in Hodgkin's disease. 相似文献
