Summary We report a newborn with incontinentia pigmenti Bloch-Sulzberger and male phenotype. Chromosome analysis revealed a Klinefelter's syndrome 47,XXY. These findings are compatible with the hypothesis of dominant sexlinked genes carried on the X-chromosome in this disease.
Zusammenfassung Wir berichten über ein neugeborenes Kind mit männlichem Phänotyp bei Incontinentia pigmenti Bloch-Sulzberger. Bei der klinischen Abklärung fand sich die Gonosomenaberration eines Klinefelter-Syndroms 47,XXY. Dieser Befund geht konform mit der Vermutung eines dominant X-gekoppelten Erbganges dieser seltenen Hauterkrankung.

In the male mouse, regression of the mammary gland anlagen is induced by testosterone during embryonic life. In the androgen-insensitive Tfm mouse, the gland anlagen are resistant to the testosterone action. To analyze cellular interactions in this process, we isolated the mammary gland anlagen from Tfm- and wild-type embryos. The epithelial buds were separated from the mesenchyme by trypsin-pancreatin treatment. From the epithelial and mesenchymal components, reciprocal recombinations were prepared and cultivated on millipore filter in the presence of testosterone. In combination with androgen-insensitive Tfm- mesenchyme, the wild-type buds survived the action of testosterone. On the other hand, in combination with wild-type mesenchyme, the androgen-insensitive Tfm epithelial buds were destroyed. The results show that testosterone induces detachment and degeneration of the buds via the mesenchyme.  相似文献

Syngeneic, semiallogeneic, or allogeneic spleen lymphocytes were transferred intonu/nu BALB/c mice, which were infected with vaccinia virus. Specific Sensitization of transferred thymus-derived cells was determined in vivo by mean survival time and virus titer in the spleen six days after infection, and in vitro by cell-mediated cytolysis of vaccinia virus-infected syngeneic target cells. Virus-specific Sensitization took place only after transfer of syngeneic or semiallogeneic spleen lymphocytes; allogeneic lymphocytes had no influence on mean survival time or virus titer and showed no virus-specific cytolytic activity in vitro. Infection of mice with vaccinia virus-strain WR, Elstree, DIs, or DIs-infected syngeneic fibroblasts resulted in the generation of virus-specific effector cells, while injection of a high amount of inactivated virus particles caused no Sensitization. These results suggest H-2 homology for production of virus-specific effector cells. Summary In the CAM plant Kalanchoë daigremontiana, kept in an environmental rhythm of 12 h L: 12 h D in a growth chamber at 60% relative humidity and well watered in the root medium, decreasing water potentials and osmotic potentials of the leaves are correlated with malate accumulation in the dark. In the light increasing water and osmotic potentials ( W and S ) are associated with decreasing malate levels. Transpiratory H2O loss is high in dark and low in light.In continuous light, the CAM rhythm rapidly disappears in the form of a highly damped endogenous oscillation. Malate levels, and water and osmotic potentials of the leaves remain correlated as described above. However, transpiration is very high as malate levels decrease and water and osmotic potentials increase.It can concluded, that water relation parameters like total water potential ( W ) and osmotic potential ( S ) change in close correlation with changes of malic acid levels. As an important osmotically active solute in CAM plants, malic acid appears to affect water relations independently of and in addition to transpiration. The question remains open, whether turgor ( P ) is involved in CAM regulation in intact plants in a similar way as it determines malate fluxes in leaf slices.Abbreviations CAM Crassulacean Acid Metabolism - L Light - D Dark  相似文献

The nuclei of active, sieve cell-associated Strasburger cells in the secondary phloem of Pinus nigra var. austriaca (Hoess) Badoux have been studied for their structure and DNA and RNA content. No difference in size compared to those of ordinary ray cells was found. The nuclear surface is often increased by an ameboid or lobed shape. The amount of highly decondensed chromatin is greatly increased. Cytophotometric measurements of DNA content of both Feulgen and gallocyanine chromalum-stained nuclei showed normal DNA levels and proved absence of endomitotic polyploidization. Summary The ultrastructure of monociliary receptors in 10 species of the Proseriata and Neorhabdocoela is described, with particular reference to the epidermal dendritic part.Sensory cells with a single kinocilium situated at the level of the distal epidermis membrane are considered as mechano- or chemoreceptors.There exist sensory cells with a dendrite penetrating one epidermis cell and bearing an embedded kinocilium and a collar of 8 stereocilia or ridges with a fribrillose substructure. These collared receptors probably function as mechanoreceptors.In comparison with collared sensory cells in species of other turbellarian orders, the embedded receptors in the Proseriata and Neorhabdocoela are more advanced and possess synapomorphous characteristics. Summary The existece of plasmid like DNA was demonstrated in senescent mycelia of Podospora anserina (strain s) by biophysical and electronmicroscopic methods. According to their contour length of about 1.4 and 2.7 m respectively the molecular weight for the monomer is in the range of 3·106.This work was supported by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft.
