Fourteen penned and 17 free-ranging white-tailed deer (Odocoileus virginianus Rafinesque) were singularly or repeatedly immobilized with 100 mg xylazine hydrochloride (HCl) and 300 mg ketamine HCl. The mean times from intravenous injection to ambulation for 1.0, 2.0, and 4.0 mg/kg body weight doses of tolazoline HCl were 13.5, 10.5, and 9.2 min. Deer not receiving tolazoline HCl recovered in an average of 168 min. Heart rates significantly (P less than 0.001) increased from 47 to 83 beats/min after tolazoline HCl administration, representing a return to normal rate. Tolazoline HCl had no effect on respiratory rate. A total of 85 reversals with tolazoline HCl resulted in no apparent adverse reactions.  相似文献

Three bovine serum albumin-specific Lyt-2+ T suppressor (Ts) cell clones from CBA/J mice have been analyzed with regard to expression of L3T4 molecules. All three Ts-cell clones can be stained with monoclonal antibodies (mAb) to L3T4. Tested for the two clones restricted to recognition of Ek determinants, antigen-specific proliferation on antigen-presenting cells, but not the proliferation induced by conditioned medium can be inhibited by L314-specific mAb. In a similar way, Ts-cell cytolytic effector functions can be blocked by L3T4-specific mAb. Thus L3T4 structures seem to play a role in Ts-cell functions. Furthermore, the data support the view that L3T4 expression can be a property of class II-restricted T cells irrespective of their Lyt phenotype.  相似文献

O-Specific polysaccharide composed of L-rhamnose and 2-acetamido-2-deoxy-D-mannose was obtained on mild acid degradation of P. aeruginosa X (Meitert classification) lipopolysaccharide. Plasma concentrations of renin, angiotensinogen, kininogen, total protein, and renal renin concentration were measured in rats before spontaneous birth, immediately after vaginal delivery, during the subsequent 48 h, as well as at the ages of 10, 20 and 80 days. Preterm rats had a plasma renin concentration about 15 times higher than adults, which increased further in 1 h-old vaginally-delivered rats. Thereafter renin fell to very low levels within 2 h, rose again during the first day and remained at 4 times the adults level until day 10. Renal renin content and concentration increased over the whole observation period, except for a slight fall of renin concentration in the first 3 h after birth. In pre- and full-terms rats, angiotensinogen concentration was only 20% that of adults, reaching even lower values immediately after delivery, due to excessive consumption by renin. Thereafter, angiotensinogen increased more than 10 fold within 48 h. Kininogen concentration in plasma was higher than in adults and stable up to the 10th postnatal day. We conclude that vaginal delivery is a strong stimulus for renin release, the resulting high concentration of renin being responsible both for the increased turnover of angiotensinogen and the subsequent inhibition of renin release. The cause and biological significance of the dramatic increase of angiotensinogen during the first 48 h of life remains obscure.  相似文献

The Q cycle and theb cycle are the main current models of action of the cytochromebc-type complexes of mitochondria, bacteria, and chloroplasts. Both are based on the concept, proposed in 1972, of two sequential one-electron oxidations of (ubi)quinol along two discrete pathways which operate at different redox potentials, and with bound semiubiquinone as an intermediate. The models differ in two respects, viz. in the pathway of electron transfer and the principle of linkage of electron transfer to proton translocation. In this article we outline a new model, called the semiquinone or, simply, SQ cycle, which is based on the electron transfer principles of theb cycle but which incorporates the Q cycle concept of direct coupling between electron transfer and proton translocation through action of ubiquinone.This paper is dedicated to the memory of Bob Casey, who died in Helsinki on the 2nd of August 1985.  相似文献
