Motorcyclists who work in some offices sometimes complained of coldness, pain and numbness of upper limbs. We studied how to discriminate between vibration syndrome and local fatigue of the motorcyclists. Subjects are 42 motorcyclists of an office in Aichi prefecture. 25 of them held several letters in their left hand when they delivered the letters. They complained of coldness, pain and numbness in the left upper limbs more than in the right limbs (p less than 0.01). We think that it is the local fatigue rather than the disorder of vibration syndrome that causes such symptoms. So it is very important to recognize the existence of local fatigue in order to know how to discriminate between vibration syndrome and local fatigue of the motorcyclists. 相似文献

The number of mast cells in connective tissue from dorsal skin varied markedly among mouse strains. Inbred strains of mice were typed into three groups, high (NC and NZB mice), low (B6, B10, and BALB/c mice), and intermediate (C3H/He and DBA/2 mice), by their mast cell content in the skin. However, the strain differences in the number of mast cells was marginal at the age of weaning but became distinct with age. This could be explained mainly by the frequently observed clustering of mast cells in adult NC and NZB mice and the rarely observed clustering in younger mice as well as in adult B10 and BALB/c mice. The breeding experiment revealed that the difference in the number of mast cells between NC and B10 mice was controlled by a single autosomal dominant locus, for which we propose the designation Mcr (mast cell regulator). The role of the Mcr locus with regard to the frequency of the mast cell population in connective tissue is discussed. 相似文献

Summary Two-dimensional gel electrophoresis, at high and low temperatures, and gel mobilities of circularly permuted DNA segments showed a large bending locus about 50 bp downstream from the right border of the 245 by oriC box, a minimal essential region of autonomous replication on the Escherichia coli chromosome. Bending was strongly enhanced by Dam methylation. In DNA from a Dam– strain, the mobility anomaly arising from altered conformation was much reduced, but was raised to the original level by methylation in vivo or in vitro. Enhancement of the mobility anomaly was also observed by hybrid formation of the Dam– strand with the Dam+ strand. Near the bending center, GATC, the target of Dam methylase, occurs seven times arranged essentially on the same face of the helix with 10.5 by per turn. The limited proteolysis of human recombinant TNF- by trypsin yields two stable products resulting from cleavage after Arg6 and Arg44. In solution these two products remain associated together in a trimer with a Stokes' radius slightly greater than the radius of intact TNF- and, therefore, could not be separated from each other under nondenaturing conditions. This limited digest retains at least 20% of the activity of the original TNF- sample, and has a tertiary structure that is similar to that of the native protein by circular dichroism. On the other hand, incorrectly folded, inactive TNF- undergoes extensive digestion following similar treatment with trypsin. These results indicate that the active form of TNF- has a tight core structure which is maintained afterN-terminal cleavage and removal. 相似文献

The 3H-labeled prostaglandin D2 [( 3H]PGD2) binding protein in the membrane fraction of mastocytoma P-815 cells was characterized. The specific binding of [3H]PGD2 to the cells or the membranes reached a maximum at pH 5.6, and was saturable, displaceable and of high affinity when incubated at 0 or 37 degrees C. The Bmax values for [3H]PGD2 binding in the two preparations at pH 5.6 were much higher at 0 degrees C than at 37 degrees C, whereas the Kd values were almost equal (85.3 nM for the cells and 80.5 nM for the membranes, respectively). High specific [3H]PGD2 binding activity in the mildly acid-treated cells was still observed when the external pH was raised from 5.6 to 7.2. Furthermore, specific [3H]PGD2 binding to the membranes (at 0 degrees C, pH 5.6) increased on addition of phosphatase inhibitors (NaF and molybdate) in the presence of 10 microM ATP, but practically disappeared on pretreatment of the membranes with phosphatase. On incubation of the membrane with [gamma-32P]ATP and molybdate, the stimulated incorporation of the [32P]phosphate into several peptides, including ones having an Mr of around 100,000-120,000, was observed. These results suggest that [3H]PGD2 binding in the mastocytoma P-815 cell membrane is controlled through phosphorylation-dephosphorylation of the receptor itself. 相似文献

Effects of the nature and orientation of a side chain in cyclic octapeptides on Ca2+ transport were examined by using cyclo[L-Lys(Z)-Sar-L-Leu-Sar]2 (C8-L), cyclo[L-Lys(Z)-Sar]4 (C8KS), and their diastereomer cyclic octapeptides, cyclo[L-Lys(Z)-Sar-D-Leu-Sar]2 (C8-D) and cyclo[L-Lys(Z)-Sar-D-Lys(Z)-Sar]2 (C8Kk). All these cyclic octapeptides were found to take a single conformation in CDCl3, and the conformation was C2-symmetric for C8-L and C8-D, and C4-symmetric for C8KS and C8Kk. They formed a complex with Ca2+. Upon complexation, C8KS accompanied isomerization of peptide bonds, but C8-D retained the arrangement of peptide bonds. The amount of Ca2+ extracted from an aqueous solution to a chloroform solution by all L cyclic octapeptide C8-L or C8KS was about twice that of Na+, but 6-8-fold smaller than that by C8-D or C8Kk including D units. These cyclic octapeptides were capable of transporting Ca2+ through a lipid membrane above the phase transition temperature, and the transport rate decreased in the order of C8Kk-C8KS greater than C8-D greater than C8-L. 相似文献
