A new tricyclic sesquiterpene, jinkohol, has been isolated from an agarwood (Aquillaria sp.) which is different from that obtained from Aquillaria agallocha. Its structure was shown to be 2β-hydroxy-(+)-prezizane by spectroscopic methods and by chemical transformation. The two kinds of agarwood are readily identified from their sesquiterpene components.  相似文献

The DS-Nh (DS Non-hair) mouse is a spontaneous hairless mutant of the DS mouse. The inheritance mode of the Nh mutation is autosomal dominant, and the Nh locus is mapped to Chromosome 11. The roles of the Nh mutation in spontaneous dermatitis and IgE hyperproduction were studied using an Nh congenic strain with a genetic background from the BALB/c mouse. In contrast to DS-Nh (Nh/+) mice, BALB/c-Nh (Nh/+) mice under conventional conditions showed a marked increase in serum IgE, without the development of dermatitis. These results suggest that IgE hyperproduction is regulated by the Nh mutation, while other genetic factor(s) are also involved in the development of dermatitis.  相似文献

Oxygen consumption, ammonia excretion and phosphate excretionrates were measured on the aggregate form (aggregated sexualblastozooid generation) and solitary form (solitary asexualoozooid generation) of Salpa thompsoni sampled from waters offthe Antarctic Peninsula from December 1999 to February 2000,in conjunction with body composition analysis (water, ash, carbon,nitrogen and phosphorus). The specific metabolic rates of S.thompsoni were weight-independent. No significant differencesbetween the aggregate and solitary forms were observed for theweight-specific rates with the exception of the oxygen consumptionrate on phosphorus weight. Metabolic loss estimated for theaggregate and solitary forms was 3.0 and 3.5% day–1 forbody carbon, 1.6 and 1.8% for body nitrogen, 3.9 and 10.6% forbody phosphorus, respectively. Contents of carbon (6.0% of dryweight for the aggregate form and 5.1% for the solitary form),nitrogen (1.5 and 1.3%) and phosphorus (0.15 and 0.11%) tendedto decrease with the increase of dry weight. All mean valuesof each body constituent (water, ash, C, N and P) for the aggregateand solitary forms were not significantly different in the samedry weight ranges.  相似文献

We amplified and sequenced the dihydrofolate reductase (DHFR) gene of the basidiomycete Coprinus cinereus. Downstream of the DHFR coding region, a mitochondrial (mt) ribosomal protein L36 (RPL36) gene was discovered in the opposite orientation to DHFR gene. Putative polyadenylation signals of the two genes overlapped, both containing the 8-bp palindrome 5'-aatatatt-3'. The finding that C. cinereus DHFR gene is closely clustered with a mt protein gene strongly suggests that C. cinereus DHFR is closely related to mt function and evolution. The amino acid sequence of C. cinereus DHFR is most homologous to eukaryotic proteins such as Cryptococcus neoformans and Pneumocystis carinii DHFRs. However, the sequence of C. cinereus mt RPL36 closely resembles RPL36 of bacteria and cyanobacteria such as Synechocystis sp. and Escherichia coli. This result strongly supports the serial endosymbiotic theory of the development of ancestral eukaryotes, and suggests that C. cinereus mt RPL36 gene originated from the ancestral eubacterial genome.  相似文献

This paper describes a Multilayered Integrated Numerical Model of Surface Physics – Growing Plants Interaction (MINoSGI), which represents interactions between the dynamics of forest ecosystems and microclimate. Aiming at a large‐scale study in the future, we describe forest dynamics by using area‐averaged prognostic equations for thedistributions of plant density and plant weight with respect to plant height classes, instead of individual‐based treatments for small‐scale forest patches. Growth and mortality of plants are modelled based on the carbon balance of each plant height class. The area‐averaged microclimate (e.g., light, wind speed, temperature, humidity, CO2 concentration) within the forest canopy is simulated by a one‐dimensional multilayer canopy model, which includes most of the physical and physiological processes that control the forest microclimate. Owing to its multilayered framework, a direct specification is possible for the difference in the growing environment among plants of different size and species. Given hourly meteorological conditions, the model outputs energy, water, CO2 and momentum fluxes to and from a forest, of which the structure changes through competition among plants. The model's performance was tested by comparing its outputs with observed data on the development of plant size distribution taken over a 5‐year period in an evergreen coniferous (Cryptomeria japonica) forest. The model produced realistic estimates of the total biomass increments during the period. The ratio of net primary production to gross primary production (=0.45) was consistent with previous estimates for temperate forests. The bimodal seasonal pattern in net ecosystem production was similar to the seasonal trend in the CO2 flux measured over a forest of the same species. Although some limitations due to the one‐dimensional representation of microclimate were noticeable, the model adequately simulated distributions of annual growth rate, plant weight and diameter across plant height classes. Since the basic equations can be extended to include the effect of spatial variability with marginal increase of computational costs, the present model framework is feasible for large‐scale studies.  相似文献

Citr+Lactococcus lactis subsp. lactis 3022 produced more biomass and converted most of the glucose substrate to diacetyl and acetoin when grown aerobically with hemin and Cu2+. The activity of diacetyl synthase was greatly stimulated by the addition of hemin or Cu2+, and the activity of NAD-dependent diacetyl reductase was very high. Hemin did not affect the activities of NADH oxidase and lactate dehydrogenase. These results indicated that the pyruvate formed via glycolysis would be rapidly converted to diacetyl and that the diacetyl would then be converted to acetoin by the NAD-dependent diacetyl reductase to reoxidize NADH when the cells were grown aerobically with hemin or Cu2+. On the other hand, the YGlu value for the hemincontaining culture was lower than for the culture without hemin, because acetate production was repressed when an excess of glucose was present. However, in the presence of lipoic acid, an essential cofactor of the dihydrolipoamide acetyltransferase part of the pyruvate dehydrogenase complex, hemin or Cu2+ enhanced acetate production and then repressed diacetyl and acetoin production. The activity of diacetyl synthase was lowered by the addition of lipoic acid. These results indicate that hemin or Cu2+ stimulates acetyl coenzyme A (acetyl-CoA) formation from pyruvate and that lipoic acid inhibits the condensation of acetyl-CoA with hydroxyethylthiamine PPi. In addition, it appears that acetyl-CoA not used for diacetyl synthesis is converted to acetate.  相似文献

N-Methylation of (R)-1-methyl-6,7-dihydroxy-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinoline [(R)-salsolinol] derived from dopamine was proved by in vivo microdialysis study in the rat brain. The striatum was perfused with (R)-salsolinol and N-methylated compound was identified in the dialysate using HPLC and electrochemical detection with multichanneled electrodes. N-Methylation of (R)-salsolinol was confirmed in three other regions of the brain, the substantia nigra, hypothalamus, and hippocampus. In the substantia nigra, the amount of N-methylated (R)-salsolinol was significantly larger than in the other three regions. These results indicate that around dopaminergic neurons, particularly in the substantia nigra, (R)-salsolinol was methylated into N-methyl-(R)-salsolinol, which has a chemical structure similar to that of 1-methyl-4-phenyl-1,2,3,6-tetrahydropyridine, the selective dopaminergic neurotoxin. N-Methylation of tetrahydroisoquinolines and beta-carbolines have already been proven to increase their toxicity to dopaminergic neurons and N-methylation might be an essential step for these alkaloids to increase their toxicity. On the other hand, after perfusion of (R)-salsolinol, release of dopamine and 5-hydroxytryptamine was observed and inhibition of monoamine oxidase was indicated. (R)-Salsolinol and its derivatives may be candidates for being dopaminergic neurotoxins.  相似文献
