Floral syndromes and pollination of three species of Phyllostachys bamboos were studied in Central China in 1999 and 2000. All were protogynous. Stigmas were receptive and had pollen deposited on them 2 days before anther dehiscence. The period of anthesis in the three bamboos was 3 days. Individual pollen grains of the three species were similar in size (30–40 μm in diameter) and had features typical of wind-pollinated plants. The ratios of pollen to ovules (p/o ratio) in P . nidularia , P . heteroclada and P . nuda were 6500, 12 700 and 33 000, respectively. Mean pollen loads on each flower (one ovule) of these three species were 7.3, 8.8 and 9.4 grains, respectively. Pollen transfer in P . heteroclada and P . nuda depended on wind, and no flower visitors were seen in the field. However, in P . nidularia , Apis cerana Fab. was a frequent pollen collector observed from 1200 to 1330 h. The visits undertaken by thousands of honeybees resulted in a large number of pollen grains being released from the anthers in a short time (10–15 min) in one day, which accelerated and synchronized the release of pollen from the anthers that seemed to enhance the chance of pollination. Given that honeybees played an indirect role in pollen transfer this could partly explain the low p/o ratio in P . nidularia . Reviewing the literature, we found insect visits to flowers of bamboos were not infrequent phenomena. The effect of abscisic acid (ABA) on heat and salt resistance of cucumber seedlings exposed (consecutively or simultaneously) to high temperature and chloride was studied. Exogenous ABA proved to additionally increase the heat and salt resistance after both consecutive and simultaneous exposure of cucumber seedlings to 38∞N and NaCl. The involvement of this hormone in the common (nonspecific) mechanisms increasing plant resistance to the studied environmental factors is concluded.  相似文献

The genetic diversity (GD) of the Phylloscopus trochilus acredula subspecies populations was studied in different parts of the breeding area in the European part of Russia using microsatellite analysis. It was detected that the level of GD sufficient for the preservation of population genetic structure of the species with optimal ratio of intra- and interpopulation components of the gene diversity and minimal deviations from panmixia is maintained in the studied populations. The maximal values of GD indices were registered in an ecologically suboptimum zone on the periphery of the breeding range.  相似文献

本文用脑室灌注和Fura2测定细胞内游离钙技术观察了地塞米松(dexamethasone,DEX)对家兔乙二醇双(2氨基乙醚)四乙酸性发热效应和下丘脑细胞内游离钙浓度([Ca2+]i)的影响,借此深入探讨地塞米松解热作用的中枢机制。结果发现:脑室灌注乙二醇双(2氨基乙醚)四乙酸(06nmol)引起家兔结肠温度明显升高,静脉注射地塞米松(5mg/kg)显著抑制家兔乙二醇双(2氨基乙醚)四乙酸性发热,地塞米松(60~120μmol/L)并不影响下丘脑细胞内[Ca2+]i,而事先脑室灌注抑制基因转录的放线菌素D(3nmol)则完全取消了地塞米松对乙二醇双(2氨基乙醚)四乙酸性发热的解热作用。这些结果提示:地塞米松显著抑制家兔乙二醇双(2氨基乙醚)四乙酸性发热,其机制与地塞米松激活脑内某些基因的表达有关,而与下丘脑神经细胞跨膜钙离子流无关。  相似文献

Although the faunal elements of Far East Asian Mesozoic terrestrial biota have attracted much attention in recent years, their palaeoecology remains poorly known. In particular, features of the palaeoclimate are highly controversial. To address this point we used the Mesozoic fossil wood Xenoxylon , a genus recognized as an indicator of wet temperate biotopes and which is common in the area during the Carnian–Maastrichtian interval. We re-appraised bibliographic data and gathered new data for Xenoxylon in the Mesozoic of Far East Asia. This demonstrated that previous taxonomic approaches to the genus have been so far idiosyncratic. We examined the anatomical diversity of morphogenus Xenoxylon in Far East Asia and compared it to that of samples from Europe. This indicates that in an area centred on north-eastern China, Xenoxylon reached a level of anatomical diversity unmatched elsewhere in the world. We hypothesize that this diversity witnesses the persistence of palaeoecological conditions particularly suitable for Xenoxylon and that a wet temperate climate prevailed over most of the area throughout the Carnian–Maastrichtian interval. It is in this setting that the famous Jehol Biota probably evolved.  相似文献

Strain RB1401 contains a plasmid with a fusion between the upper pathway promoter of the TOL plasmid xyl genes and a lux gene cassette. Bioluminescence activity appeared in the early period of biodegradation of m-xylene, and was observed at all tested conditions of temperature (15, 27, 35°C) and pH (5, 7, 9), showing in the range of 300 ~ 6100 RLU. Biokinetics of strain RB1401 in the presence of m-xylene were as follows: Y 0.56 mg/mg, μmax 2.67 day-1, and Ks 19.25 mg/L. A ratio of C:N(KNO3):P(KH2PO4) = 100:8:1.5 and 0.01% (w/v) of H2O2 were chosen for optimum biostimulation conditions of RB1401 with m-xylene in soil system. These results demonstrate the capability of such a genetically engineered bacteria for the development of biomonitoring and bioremediation in soil environments contaminated with specific volatile organic compounds.  相似文献
