Characterization of bovine parainfluenza virus type 3.   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2  
Bovine parainfluenza virus type 3 (PIV-3) has a buoyant density of 1.197. The RNA of PIV-3, like that of Sendai virus, is a single continuous chain which lacks polyadenylic acid sequences and tends to self-anneal to a marked extent. It has a sedimentation coefficient of 42S and a molecular weight of 4.5 X 10(6), being slightly smaller than Sendai virus RNA (47S, 5.3 X 10(6)). PIV-3 has 5 main structural proteins, of which 2 are glycoproteins. The molecular weights of protein 1, protein 2, protein 3, glycoprotein 1, and glycoprotein 2 were estimated to be 79,000, 68,000, 35,000, 69,000, and 55,000, respectively. Protein 2 was suggested to be nucleocapsid protein.  相似文献

Three kinds of models for ionic selectivity and size of the filter in sodium channel have been treated by using ab initio molecular orbital (MO) calculations with MINI-3 and MIDI-3* basis sets. A three-components system, HCO2M-H2O (M = Li+, Na+ or K+), is acceptable for describing experimental facts well. Thermochemical parameters obtained from harmonic vibrational analysis with MINI-3 basis sets, for the translocation of the permeant metal cations in the HCO2M-H2O system, are that the activation enthalpies for Li+, Na+ and K+ are 7.0, 6.4 and 23.4 kJ/mol, and also the free energies of activation are 10.6, 1.5 and 19.0 kJ/mol, respectively. These results are qualitatively in good correspondence with experimental facts of the ion selectivity of the channel. One of water molecule was found to have a key role in the translocation of the permeant cations.  相似文献

A polysaccharide-rich particulate fraction was isolated from cytoplasmic extracts of Candida albicans by a procedure using differential centrifugation. The polysaccharide particles obtained after purification with deoxycholate treatment were essentially free of nitrogen and were identified chemically as polyglucosan, in which the glucosidic links were of alpha type. Both the response to amylolytic enzymes and the spectral characteristics of the iodine complexes of the polysaccharide particles were similar to those of rabbit liver glycogen. They also precipitated with concanavalin A, the glycogen value being assessed at 1.04. These data strongly indicated that the polysaccharide particles have the macromolecular structure characteristic of glycogen. The sedimentation analysis revealed that they were polydisperse, with a weight average sedimentation coefficient of 340S. In negatively stained specimens, the glycogen particles were seen to form rosette-like structures consisting of a complex unit 40 to 150 nm in diameter. Such complex particles were composed of smaller globules that were fairly uniform in size with an average diameter of 32 nm.  相似文献

The effect of various growth regulators including epidermal growth factor and transforming growth factor-beta on the alkaline phosphatase activity of rabbit renal cortical tubular cells has been investigated in a serum-free culture. As a result, it was found that transforming growth factor-beta, known to be a growth inhibitor of renal tubular cells, increased the alkaline phosphatase activity of the tubular cells dose-dependently and that cycloheximide blocked any increase in the activity of this factor. In contrast, epidermal growth factor decreased the alkaline phosphatase activity in the tubular cells.  相似文献

Bacillus thuringiensis serovar israelensis , an entomopathogen for mosquito larvae, was demonstrated to be lysogenized by temperate phage SU-11 whose genome was located extrachromosomally in the cell. The prophage SU-11 was cured at high frequency from the parental strain by continuous sub-culture at high temperature, but the ability to produce δ-endotoxin remained in the prophage cured strain. Moreover, phage induction was found to occur after mating of serovar israelensis with its prophage cured strain, as well as with B. thuringiensis serovar thuringiensis , B. cereus and B. subtilis .  相似文献

Incorporation of 1-oleoyl-2-acetylglycerol (OAG) into multilamellar liposomes composed of egg phosphatidylethanolamine (PE) and arachidonic acid (AA) resulted in a significant enhancement of superoxide release by guinea pig neutrophils when compared to free OAG. OAG incorporated into liposomes containing phosphatidylcholine and arachidonic acid were generally less effective than free OAG. The potency of the liposomes correlates well with the ability of the liposomes to undergo lipid mixing at acidic pH. The enhanced effect of liposome-associated OAG could be related to exposure to an acidic environment in the endosomes/lysosomes once liposomes are endocytosed by neutrophils.  相似文献
