The behavior of radiocesium (137Cs) in aquatic plants (five species) and algae (three genera) grown in either a river (one sampling point) or pond (four sampling points) in the vicinity of the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant was investigated. The 137Cs concentration of <0.45-μm fractions of water taken from the river and ponds was between 5.01 × 10?1 and 2.98 Bq/L, while that of sediment was between 4.85 × 103 and 5.72 × 104 Bq/kg dry weight. The ratio of 137Cs concentration of sediment/water in ponds was ~104. The sediment-to-plant transfer factor (TF) [(137Cs concentration Bq/kg dry weightplant) × (137Cs concentration Bq/kg dry weightsediment)?1] was also measured. For aquatic plants, the highest value was 5.55 for Potamogeton crispus from the river, while the lowest was 3.34 × 10?2 for P. distinctus from a pond. There were significant differences in values between aquatic plants belonging to the same genus. The water-to-plant TF [(137Cs concentration Bq/kg dry weightplant) × (137Cs concentration Bq/Lwater)?1] of filamentous algae (Spirogyra sp.) and cyanobacteria (coexisting Anabaena sp. and Microcystis sp.) were 2.39 × 103 and 1.26 × 103, respectively. The 137Cs concentration of cyanobacteria in pond water was 4.87 × 10?1 Bq/L, which was the same order of magnitude as the 137Cs concentration of pond water. Enrichment of 137Cs in cyanobacteria was not observed.  相似文献

Summary Derivatives of gramicidin S (GS) and its mono- and di-d-cyclohexylalanined-Cha) analogs possessing various protecting groups on Orn side chains were prepared.1H NMR spectra of the unsymmetrically protected analogs [Orn(X)2, Orn(X)2′,d-Cha4]GS were similar to the composites of the spectra of the symmetrical derivatives [Orn(X)2,2′,d-Cha4,4′]GS and [Orn(X)2,2′]Gs, revealing the proximity of the protecting groups of NδH of Orn residues at the 2 and 2 positions to the side chains ofd-Phe (ord-Cha) residues at the 4 and 4 positions, respectively. The results indicated the presence of H-bonds between the N°H of Orn and the carbonyl ofd-Phe residues in the i→i+2 sense and not in i→i-3, which was also supported by the ROESY analysis. The substantially strong H-bonds can explain the observed resistance of the urethane NH of the Orn side chains in the GS derivatives to the N-methylation with CH3I−Ag2O in DMF.  相似文献

Two neutrophil chemotactic factors were isolated from the culture filtrates of Streptococcus sanguis ATCC 10556 and were chemically characterized as N-terminal blocked peptides of low molecular weight. One of the factors consisted of proline, valine, methionine, isoleucine and leucine and the other of methionine, isoleucine, leucine and phenylalanine. In both factors, methionine was detected as the sole N-terminal amino acid, but the amino group was blocked. The removal of N-terminal methionine yielded several N-terminal amino acids, suggesting that S. sanguis produced several N-terminal blocked methionyl peptides, all of which could be chemotactically active.  相似文献

GA3 prevented the bending of branches in the weeping type ofJapanese cherry, Prunus spachiana. Eccentric growth of GA3-treatedbranches was observed. In the xylem on the upper side of suchbranches the presence of gelatin fibers, which stained stronglywith fast green, was demonstrated. Moreover, a less dense distributionof vessels and a steeper angle of cellulose microfibrils inthe secondary walls of fibers were also observed on this side.Similar features were noted in the xylem of the branches ofcherry trees of the upright type, but they were not found inGA3-untreated control branches of trees of the weeping type.These results suggest that GA3 induces tension wood on the upperside of branches of Prunus spachiana of the weeping type, sothat the branches become to grow upwards, resembling branchesof the upright type. ABSTRACT

The objective of this study was to estimate the sulphur amino acid (methionine + cystine) requirements and nitrogen endogenous losses in kittens aged 150 to 240 d. Thirty-six cats were distributed in six treatments (six cats per treatment) consisting of different concentrations of methionine + cystine (M + C): T1, 6.5 g/kg; T2, 8.8 g/kg; T3, 11.3 g/kg; T4, 13.6 g/kg; T5, 16.0 g/kg; and control, 6.5 g/kg. Diets were formulated by serial dilution of T5 (a diet relatively deficient in M + C but containing high protein concentrations) with a minimal nitrogen diet (MND). Thus, crude protein and amino acid concentrations in diets T1–T5 decreased by the same factor. The control diet was the T1 diet supplemented with adequate concentrations of M + C (6.5 g/kg; 8.8 g/kg; 11.3 g/kg; 13.6 g/kg and 16.0 g/kg). All diets were based on ingredients commonly used in extruded cat diets. Digestibility assays were performed for the determination of nitrogen balance. Nitrogen intake (NI) and nitrogen excretion (NEX) results data were fitted with an exponential equation to estimate nitrogen maintenance requirement (NMR), theoretical maximum for daily nitrogen retention (NRmaxT), and protein quality (b). M + C requirements were calculated from the limiting amino acid intake (LAAI) equation assuming a nitrogen retention of 45 to 65% NRmaxT. The NMR of kittens aged 150, 195, and 240 d was estimated at 595, 559, and 455 mg/kg body weight (BW)0.67 per day, respectively, and M + C requirements were estimated at 517, 664, and 301 mg/kg BW0.67 per day, respectively.  相似文献

Abstract Mutational analysis of the poly(3-hydroxybutyrate) (PHB) depolymerase A of Pseudomonas lemoignei and of the poly(3-hydroxybutyrate) depolymerase of Alcaligenes faecalis revealed that S138 ( P. lemoignei ) and S139 ( A. faecalis ) are essential for activity. Both serines are part of a strictly conserved pentapeptide sequence which is present in all poly(3-hydroxybutyrate) depolymerases analyzed so far (G-L-S-S(A)-G) and which resembles the lipase box of lipases and other serine hydrolases (G-X-S-X-G). Mutation of another conserved serine, namely S195 ( P. lemoignei ) and S196 ( A. faecalis ), resulted in mutant proteinswith almost full activity and proved that S195 and S196 are not essential for activity. The results indicate the structural and functional relationship of poly(3-hydroxybutyrate) depolymerases to the family of serine hydrolases.  相似文献
