We produced 102 randomly amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) markersmapped on all 12 chromosomes of rice using DNAs of cultivarsNipponbare (japonica) and Kasalath (indica) and of F2 populationgenerated by a single cross of these parents. Sixty random primers10 nucleotides long were used both singly and in random pairsand about 1,400 primer-pairs were tested. Using both agarosegel and polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis enabled us to detectpolymorphisms appearing in the range from <100 bp to 2 kb.The loci of the RAPD markers were determined onto the frameworkof our RFLP linkage map and some of these markers were mappedto regions with few markers. Out of the 102 RAPD markers, 20STSs (sequence-tagged sites) and STS-specific primer pairs weredetermined by cloning, identifying and sequencing of the mappedpolymorphic fragments.  相似文献

Several simplified differential equations are derived from the Wilson and Cowan model describing the dynamics of excitatory and inhibitory neurons. It is shown, by expansions of the convolution integrals and the input-output functions, that the basic integrodifferential equations can be reduced to two coupled nonlinear partial differential equations of reaction-diffusion type. Further simplification leads to the coupled partial differential equations mathematically equivalent to the FitzHugh-Nagumo equations for the nerve impulse. Through a brief stability analysis in relation to the existing investigations on the bifurcation phenomena, an attempt is made to clarify the consequence due to the approximations introduced in this paper.  相似文献

When Lemna gibba G3 was grown on E medium, a decrease in thephosphate concentration caused a suppression of flowering andlead to a decrease in the phosphorus concentration in the plants.Addition of salicylic acid reversed this inhibition withoutcausing an increase in the phosphorus concentration, while additionof copper or ammonium to Hoagland-type medium inhibited flowering,also without affecting the phosphorus concentration. Plantsgrown under 8 h or 24 h daylengths exhibited a FL% of 0 or about50, respectively, but showed no difference in their phosphorusconcentrations. These results indicate that a high phosphorusconcentration is not always required for flowering in Lemnagibba G3. When plants were grown on a modified E medium in which 1/50strength Hutner’s medium micronutrients were substitutedfor the normal E medium micronutrients, the suppression of floweringcaused by reduced phosphate was completely eliminated. Addingeach micronutrient individually at the normal concentrationto the modified E medium demonstrated that manganese inhibitedflowering in modified E medium with a low phosphate concentration. Physical Mapping of Rice Chromosomes 4 and 7 Using YAC Clones   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
Physical maps of rice chromosomes 4 and 7 were constructed bylanding yeast artificial chromosomes (YACs) along our high-densitymolecular linkage map. Using 114 DNA markers, 258 individualYACs were located on chromosome 4. Sixty-two out of 258 YACscarried two or more DNA marker positions and formed 16 contigswhich covered a total length of 17.1 cM. The other YACs werearranged to 23 positions. On chromosome 7, 203 individual YACswere landed on 109 DNA markers. Sixty-four out of 203 YACs formed15 contigs which covered a total length of 21.8 cM and 139 YACswere localized to 26 positions. Chromosomes 4 and 7 were coveredwith minimum tiling paths of 45 and 48 YACs, respectively. Takingthe average size of YAC insert DNA to be 350 kb and the entiregenome size to be 430 Mb, about 16–18 Mb of each chromosomeor an estimated 50% of their total lengths have been coveredwith YACs. Physical maps of these 2 chromosomes should be ofgreat help in identifying useful trait genes and unravelinggenetic and biological characteristics in rice.  相似文献
