Motorcyclists who work in some offices sometimes complained of coldness, pain and numbness of upper limbs. We studied how to discriminate between vibration syndrome and local fatigue of the motorcyclists. Subjects are 42 motorcyclists of an office in Aichi prefecture. 25 of them held several letters in their left hand when they delivered the letters. They complained of coldness, pain and numbness in the left upper limbs more than in the right limbs (p less than 0.01). We think that it is the local fatigue rather than the disorder of vibration syndrome that causes such symptoms. So it is very important to recognize the existence of local fatigue in order to know how to discriminate between vibration syndrome and local fatigue of the motorcyclists.  相似文献

The novel diglycosyldiacylglycerol (DGDG), galactosyl(beta 1----6)-galactosyl(beta 1----3')-diacylglycerol (B isomer), present in Adzuki beans was found to be distributed together with the well-known galactosyl(alpha 1----6)-galactosyl(beta 1----3')-diacylglycerol (A isomer), in all (10) of the higher plants examined. The highest levels were found in leguminous seeds were the amounts were always less than 33% of the total DGDG of mature seeds. The highest proportion of the B isomer was found in Adzuki bean seed DGDG (26-33%), with the lowest in pea seed DGDG (2%). The amounts of the B isomer in DGDG of Adzuki and kidney beans cotyledons were almost equal to those in mature seeds. Immature seeds and hypocotyls of three kinds of beans also contained the B isomer in small amounts compared with the mature beans, while only trace amounts of the isomer was found in other organs such as leaves, stems, pods, roots and generative organs of plants, except for root from kidney beans. The molecular species composition of the principal diacylglycerol moieties in the A and B isomers of DGDG were found to be significantly different among several plant seeds, although the component diacylglycerol species were qualitatively similar to each other.  相似文献

A mutant of Saccharomyces cerevisiae highly resistant to 2-amino-4-methyl-5-beta-hydroxyethylthiazole (2-aminohydroxyethylthiazole), an antimetabolite of 4-methyl-5-beta-hydroxyethylthiazole (hydroxyethylthiazole), has been isolated. Its resistance to 2-aminohydroxyethylthiazole was about 10(4) times that of the sensitive parent strain. The amount of thiamin synthesized in the cells of the resistant strain grown in minimal medium was less than half of that of the sensitive strain. The ability to synthesize thiamin from 2-methyl-4-amino-5-hydroxymethylpyrimidine (hydroxymethylpyrimidine) and hydroxyethylthiazole in the resistant strain was low compared with that of the sensitive strain. These results were found to be due to a deficiency of hydroxyethylthiazole kinase in the resistant strain: in sonic extracts of cells the enzyme activity was only 0.67% of that of the sensitive strain. Although the cells of the sensitive strain could accumulate exogenous hydroxyethylthiazole in the form of hydroxyethylthiazole monophosphate, no significant uptake of hydroxyethylthiazole by the cells of the resistant strain was observed. The possibilities that 2-aminohydroxyethylthiazole monophosphate may be the actual inhibitor of the growth of Saccharomyces cerevisiae, and that hydroxyethylthiazole may not be involved in the pathway of de novo synthesis of thiamin via hydroxyethylthiazole monophosphate, are discussed.  相似文献

Cross-linking site in fibrinogen for alpha 2-plasmin inhibitor   总被引:4,自引:0,他引:4  
A plasma proteinase inhibitor, alpha 2-plasmin inhibitor (alpha 2PI), is cross-linked with alpha chain of fibrin(ogen) by activated coagulation Factor XIII (plasma transglutaminase). alpha 2PI serves only as a glutamine substrate (amine acceptor) for activated Factor XIII in the cross-linking reaction, and the cross-linking occurs between Gln-2 of the alpha 2PI molecule and a lysine residue (amine donor) of fibrin(ogen) alpha chain, whose position was investigated. alpha 2PI and fibrinogen were reacted by activated Factor XIII. The resulting alpha 2PI fibrinogen A alpha chain complex was separated and subjected to two cycles of Edman degradation using phenyl isothiocyanate for the first cycle and dimethylaminoazobenzene-isothiocyanate for the second cycle. The aqueous phase after the cleavage stage of the second cycle, containing dimethylaminoazobenzene-thiohydantoin-Gln cross-linked with A alpha chain, was subjected to CNBr fragmentation and tryptic digestion. Only one of the peptides was found to have the peak of absorbance at 420 nm, indicating the presence of dimethylaminoazobenzene-thiohydantoin-Gln in that peptide. The peptide was identified as corresponding to residues Asn-290-Arg-348 of A alpha chain by analyses of the NH2-terminal amino acid sequence and amino acid composition. The peptide contains a single lysine at position 303, indicating that Lys-303 of fibrinogen A alpha chain is the lysine residue that forms a cross-link with Gln-2 of alpha 2PI.  相似文献

The ultrastructure of neurofibrillary tangles (NFT) was examined by electron microscopy. The fibrils of NFT seemed to consists of about eight protofilaments consisting of globular subunits; these protofilaments were helically wound in a longitudinal direction. The fibrils of NFT had hollow structures at their centers surrounded by the eight globular subunits. The subunits were tightly connected in the narrow parts of the fibril, but more loosely connected in the wider parts. From these findings, it seemed that the fibrils of NFT consist of a twisted tubule having periodical constrictions and is made up of eight helically wound protofilaments, forming globular subunits.  相似文献

We have determined the complete nucleotide sequence of a 2.4 kb chromosomal EcoT22I-NspV fragment, containing the Bacillus cereus glnA gene (structural gene of glutamine synthetase). The deduced amino acid sequence indicates that the glutamine synthetase subunit consists of 444 amino acid residues (50,063 Da). Comparisons are made with reported amino acid sequences of glutamine synthetases from other bacteria. Upstrem of glnA we found an open reading frame of 129 codons (ORF129) preceded by the consensus sequence for a typical promoter. Maxicell experiments showed two polypeptide bands, with molecular weights in good agreement with that of glutamine synthetase and that of ORF129, in addition to vector-coded protein. It is possible that the product of this open reading frame upstream of glnA has a regulatory role in glutamine synthetase expression.  相似文献

Laboratory animal allergy is a serious occupational diseases of many workers and scientists engaged in animal experimentation. Control measures depend upon characterization of allergens including airborne particles. This study measured the particle size of crude mouse urine and pelt aeroallergens generated in mouse housing rooms and compared them with mouse serum albumin, a defined major allergen. Allergens were detected by specific immunological methods. Most crude and defined allergens (74.5-86.4%) concentrated on a filter with a retention size greater than 7 microns. In distrubed air, allergen concentration increased 1.4 (albumin) to 5 (crude) fold and the proportion of small particles increased from 1.4% in calm air to 4.5% in distrubed air. This information on the generation and size distribution of aeroallergens will be important in the development of effective counter measures.  相似文献

Abstract: The effects of various protein kinase inhibitors on acetylcholine release from the rat hippocampus induced by the local application of NS-3 (montirelin hydrate, CG-3703), a thyrotropin-releasing hormone analogue, into the medial septum-diagonal band were examined using in vivo microdialysis. Perfusion of NS-3 (1 µ M ) into the medial septum-diagonal band for 20 min produced a pronounced and prolonged increase in the hippocampal acetylcholine efflux. Pretreatment of the medial septum-diagonal band with either K-252a, a nonselective protein kinase inhibitor, or selective protein kinase A inhibitor H-89 almost completely blocked the acetylcholine efflux evoked by NS-3, and selective protein kinase C inhibitor calphostin C inhibited the action of NS-3. On the other hand, NS-3 (0.1–10 µ M ) or TRH (1–100 µ M ) increased the cyclic AMP efflux from the medial septum-diagonal band in a concentration-dependent manner, as measured by microdialysis. These findings suggest that protein kinases A and C in the neurons of the medial septum-diagonal band are involved in the mechanism of the prolonged stimulation of acetylcholine release from the hippocampus induced by thyrotropin-releasing hormone and its analogue, NS-3.  相似文献
