Diplotaxis harra (Forssk.) Boiss, an annual herb in the family of Brassicaceae, is widely distributed in many sandy and gypseous areas in southern Tunisia. Laboratory experiments were carried out to assess the effects of temperature and salinity on seed germination and recovery responses after seed transfer to distilled water. The germination responses of the seeds in complete darkness were determined over a wide range of temperatures (5, 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 °C) and salinities (0, 50, 100, 150 and 200 mM NaCl). Germination was inhibited by either an increase or decrease in temperature from the optimal temperature (15 °C). Highest germination percentages were obtained under non-saline conditions and an increase in NaCl concentrations progressively inhibited seed germination. Rate of germination decreased with an increase in salinity at all temperatures but comparatively higher rates were obtained at 15 °C. Salt stress decreased both the percentage and the rate of germination. An interaction between salinity and temperature yielded no germination at 200 mM NaCl. Seeds were transferred from salt solution to distilled water after 20 days, and those from low salinities recovered at all temperatures. Carbon‐oxide and carbon‐sulfide nanocomposites have attracted tremendous interest as the anode materials for Li and Na ion batteries. Such composites are fascinating as they often show synergistic effect compared to their singular components. Carbon nanomaterials are often used as the matrix due to their high conductivity, tensile strength, and chemical stability under the battery condition. Metal oxides and sulfides are often used as active material fillers because of their large capacity. Numerous works have shown that by taking one step further into fabricating nanocomposites with rational structure design, much better performance can be achieved. The present review aims to present and discuss the development of carbon‐based nanocomposite anodes in both Li ion batteries and Na ion batteries. The authors introduce the individual components in the composites, i.e., carbon matrices (e.g., carbon nanotube, graphene) and metal oxides/sulfides; followed by evaluating how advanced nanostructures benefit from the synergistic effect when put together. Particular attention is placed on strategies employed in fabricating such composites, with examples such as yolk–shell structure, layered‐by‐layered structure, and composite comprising one or more carbon matrices. Lastly, the authors conclude by highlighting challenges that still persist and their perspective on how to further develop the technologies. 相似文献

The decolourization and detoxification of the triarylmethane dye Malachite green (MG) by laccase from Trametes sp. were investigated. The laccase decolorized efficiently the dye down to 97% of 50 mg L?1 initial concentration of MG when only 0.1 U mL?1 of laccase was used in the reaction mixture. The effects of different physicochemical parameters were tested and optimal decolourization rates occurred at pH 6 and at temperatures between 50 and 60 °C. Decolourization of MG occurred in the presence of metal ions which could be found in textile industry effluent. 1-hydroxybenzotriazole (HBT) affected positively the decolourization of MG. The presence of some phenolic compounds namely ferulic, coumaric, gallic, and tannic acids was found to be inhibiting for the decolourization at a concentration of 10 mM.The effect of laccase inhibitors in the decolourization of MG was tested with l-cysteine, and ethylene diamine tetra-acetic acid (EDTA) at concentrations of 0.1, 1 and 10 mM. It was demonstrated that l-cysteine and EDTA inhibited the decolourization starting from 1 mM concentration. However, for NaCl a concentration of 100 mM was needed for the inhibition of laccase. The decolourization of MG resulted in the removal of its toxicity against Phanerochaete chrysosporium.The stability of the laccase toward temperature and HBT free radicals was also assessed during MG decolourization. It was shown that laccase was stable at 50 °C but in the presence of the laccase mediator HBT, the stability of the enzyme was severely affected resulting in a loss of 50% of the activity after 3 h incubation. 相似文献

In this paper, the heat transfer effect on the unsteady boundary layer flow of a Casson fluid past an infinite oscillating vertical plate with Newtonian heating is investigated. The governing equations are transformed to a systems of linear partial differential equations using appropriate non-dimensional variables. The resulting equations are solved analytically by using the Laplace transform method and the expressions for velocity and temperature are obtained. They satisfy all imposed initial and boundary conditions and reduce to some well-known solutions for Newtonian fluids. Numerical results for velocity, temperature, skin friction and Nusselt number are shown in various graphs and discussed for embedded flow parameters. It is found that velocity decreases as Casson parameters increases and thermal boundary layer thickness increases with increasing Newtonian heating parameter. 相似文献

Gibberellins (GAs) are hormones required for several aspects of plant development, including internode elongation and seed development in pea (Pisum sativum L.). The first committed step in the GA biosynthesis pathway is the conversion of geranylgeranyl diphosphate (GGDP) to ent-kaurene via copalyl diphosphate (CDP). These two reactions are catalyzed by the cyclases ent-kaurene synthase A (KSA) and ent-kaurene synthase B (KSB), respectively. Previous genetic and biochemical analysis of the GA-responsive ls-1 mutant of pea suggested that GA levels are reduced in a developmental- and organ-specific manner due to reduced GA biosynthesis. Analysis of cell-free enzyme preparations from WT and ls-1 embryos at contact point reveals that ls-1 reduces the activity of KSA but not KSB. To characterize the ls-1 mutation in more detail, a cDNA coding for a pea KSA was cloned and shown to be encoded by the LS locus. The ls-1 mutation results from an intronic G to A substitution that causes impaired RNA splicing. To determine the activity of the KSAs encoded by the LS and ls-1 alleles, a new in vitro assay for combined KSA and KSB activity has been developed using the KSB gene of pumpkin. Using recombinant WT KSA and KSB fusion proteins, GGDP is converted to ent-kaurene in vitro. Based on the sequence of RT-PCR products, three different truncated KSA proteins are predicted to exist in ls-1 plants. The most abundant mutant KSA protein does not possess detectable activity in vitro. Nevertheless, the ls-1 allele is not null and is able to encode at least a partially functional KSA since a more severe ls allele has been identified. The ls-1 mutation has played a key role in identifying a role for GAs in pea seed development in the first few days after fertilization, but not in older seeds. KSA expression in seeds is developmentally regulated and parallels overall GA biosynthesis, suggesting that KSA expression may play an important role in the regulation of GA biosynthesis and seed development. 相似文献
