Significant genetic variation in leaf photosynthetic rate has been reported in grain sorghum [Sorghum biocolor (L.) Moench]. The relationships between leaf photosynthetic rates and total biomass production and grain yield remain to be established and formed the purpose of this experiment. Twenty two grain sorghum parent lines were tested in the field during the 1988 growing season under well-watered and water-limited conditions. Net carbon assimilation rates were measured at mid-day during the 30 day period from panicle initiation to head exertion on upper-most fully expanded leaves using a portable photosynthesis system (LI-6200). Total biomass and grain production were determined at physiological maturity. The lines exhibited significant genetic variation in leaf photosynthetic rate, total biomass production and grain yield. Significant positive correlations existed between leaf photosynthesis and total biomass and grain production under both well-watered and water-limited conditions. The results suggest that leaf photosynthetic rate measured prior to flowering is a good indicator of productivity in grain sorghum.  相似文献

Conclusion To sum up, the character of China's existing system is basically all-embracing totalitarianism formed by the combination of the old tradition of feudal-despotism and the new tradition of Stalinism. This system is the basic source of all the social evils in China.The ultimate aim of the democratic movement is to transform the old, allembracing totalitarian system and to establish a democratic, free, humane, and rational new system. The present ruling group is the beneficiary and defender of the existing system. The contradictions and conflicts between reformers who want to transform the old system and the hardliners who want to protect the old system formed the crux of the struggle of the 1989 democratic movement. Because the democratic movement lacked preparation in theory, organization, tactics and strategy, and because the ruling group controls the means of dictatorship — especially the army —military force was used to suppress the democratic movement with brutal bloodshed. In order to promote the democratic movement, we should sum up some lessons and experiences. First, we should study in depth the existing system and oppose feudaldespotism and Stalinism through effective propaganda and education. The human hepatoma Hep3B cells contain integrated hepatitis B viral genome and continually secret hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg). The production of HBsAg (but not alpha-fetoprotein) was suppressed by addition of low concentrations (0.1-1 nM) of insulin into serum-free medium. In addition, the suppression of HBsAg production by insulin was paralleled with the decrease in HBsAg mRNA abundance. Insulin also cause a rapid rate of disappearance of HBsAg mRNA (t 1/2, 2 h) in Hep3B cells. The Hep3B cells carry specific receptor with high affinity for insulin (Kd = 1.8 nM). The receptor showed an insulin-dependent protein tyrosine kinase activity. The half-maximal insulin concentration for the activation of the receptor kinase was about 5 nM. Only very high concentrations of insulin-like growth factor I and human proinsulin can compete for the insulin receptor binding and suppress HBsAg production, this suggests that insulin may act through its receptor binding to suppress HBsAg expression in human hepatoma Hep3B cells.  相似文献

The study involved 126 patients with cholelithiasis. Set of biochemical, radiological, endoscopic, and ultrasound examinations was carried out in these patients. Potential coincidence of clinical symptoms and causes of so-called postcholecystectomy syndrome was the purpose of a 1-year follow-up studies. The significance of the results are discussed.  相似文献

A novel method of enzyme immobilization using a low molecular weight prepolymer of tri-functional aziridines which can immobilize enzymes both by covalent attachment and entrapment within a gel matrix is described. The enzymes are immobilized on a solid support and exhibit an excellent retention of enzymatic activity. The immobilization procedure is essentially a single step process which can be easily performed at room temperature or 4 degrees C in either aqueous solution or in an inert organic solvent. The polyaziridines used in the immobilization are nontoxic, available in bulk at low cost and completely miscible with water and many organic solvents, thus providing one of the most satisfactory methods of immobilization available.  相似文献

Fluorescent probes located in heterogeneous environments give rise to anomalous time-resolved fluorescence anisotropy. A simple analytical expression of anisotropy has been derived for the case of a small difference in local fluorescence lifetimes. The expression has the diagnostic advantage that the time dependence of the fluorescence anisotropy can be predicted from the differences in fluorescence lifetimes and residual anisotropies of the probes located in different sites. Using this model, the local fluorescence anisotropy parameters and the relative contributions of the lipid probe octadecyl rhodamine B in a lipid environment and in the vicinity of bacteriophage M13 coat protein reconstituted in phospholipid bilayers, composed of 80% 1,2-dimyristoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine and 20% 1,2-dimyristoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphoglycerol have been determined experimentally. 本文用ABC—GDN免疫组织化学方法,研究了γ-氨基丁酸(Gamma—Aminobutyric Acid,GABA)在大鼠胰腺的定位和分布,并用相邻切片法,观察它与胰岛素的共存关系。结果发现GABA免疫反应阳性细胞主要分布于胰腺内分泌部(胰岛)。在外分泌部亦有少许分布。大部分胰岛细胞呈GABA免疫反应阳性,集中位于胰岛的中央部。相邻连续切片免疫染色证实GABA与胰岛素共存于胰岛B细胞中。外分泌部胰腺GABA免疫反应阳性细胞,呈零散分布于腺泡和导管上皮间。本文为进一步探讨GABA在胰腺的生理作用提供了形态学依据。  相似文献

Using cytochemical method,microspectrophotometry and image analysis,effects of va-soactive intestinal peptide(VIP)on activities of succinic dehydrogenase(SDH)and alkalinephosphatase(ALP)in rat hepatoma cells were studied in vitro.The results showed that thehepatoma cell expressed potent positive reactions of SDH and ALP,the positive positionswere located at the cell membranes and/or cytoplasm.Having been treated with VIP,ALPdecreased obviously in activity(P<0. 01,compared with hepatoma cells untreated by VIP).The sites of ALP activty were chiefly located at the cell membranes,particularly at the cell-cell contacts.Cultured rat hepatoma cells had intensive SDH activity in their cytoplasm.Compared with untreated eclls,there was no marked difference in the intensity of SDH activ-ity in VIP-treated hepatoma cells(P>0.05).  相似文献
