This article reports simple, green and efficient synthesis of γ-Fe2O3 nanoparticles (NPs) (maghemite) through single-source precursor approach for colorimetric estimation of human glucose level. The γ-Fe2O3 NPs, having cubic morphology with an average particle size of 30 nm, exhibited effective peroxidase-like activity through the catalytic oxidation of peroxidase substrate 3,3′,5,5′-tetramethylbenzidine (TMB) in the presence of H2O2 producing a blue-colored solution. On the basis of this colored-reaction, we have developed a simple, cheap, highly sensitive and selective colorimetric method for estimation of glucose using γ-Fe2O3/TMB/glucose–glucose oxidase (GOx) system in the linear range from 1 to 80 μM with detection limit of 0.21 μM. The proposed glucose sensor displays faster response, good stability, reproducibility and anti-interference ability. Exploitation of biological resources and the harvest of population species are commonly practiced in fisheries, forestry and
wild life management. Estimation of maximum harvesting effort has a great impact on the economics of fisheries and other bio-resources.
The present paper deals with the problem of a bioeconomic fishery model under environmental variability. A technique for finding
the maximum harvesting effort in fluctuating environment has been developed in a two-species competitive system, which shows
that under realistic environmental variability the maximum harvesting effort is less than what is estimated in the deterministic
model. This method also enables us to find out the safe regions in the parametric space for which the chance of extinction
of the species is minimized. A real life fishery problem has been considered to obtain the inaccessible parameters of the

The present study was conducted to see the in vivo developmental potency of caprine parthenogenetic embryos generated in a modified way. The good quality caprine oocytes were matured in presence of cytochalasin B (CCB) and then activated by 7% ethanol followed by 2 mM 6-dimethyl amino purine (6-DMAP) and embryo development was recorded. Early stage parthenogenetic embryos (two to four cells) were surgically transferred in recipients (10). The pregnancy diagnosis was done by nonreturn to oestrus, ultrasonography (USG), and progesterone estimation. The levels of progesterone were above normal values (1 ng/ml) of pregnancy and fall below the level of pregnancy just before retuned to oestrus. Progesterone profile revealed that out of ten recipients (G1–G10), four goats (G1, G2, G3, and G5) returned to oestrus after 43?±?7.29 (Mean?±?SE) d of embryo transfer and six goats (G4, G6, G7, G8, G9, and G10) did not return to cycle even after 70 d of embryo transfer. In three recipients (G4, G5, and G6), the USG on day 40 revealed that there was fluid filled uterine body with solid fetus-like structure. These might be dead fetus and had started resorption. The progesterone profile also corroborated the assumption of pregnancy in these animals. Analysis of the CTX prophage and RS1 element in hybrid and altered Vibrio cholera O1 strains showed two classifiable groups. Group I strains contain a tandem repeat of classical CTX prophage on the small chromosome. Strains in this group either contain no element(s) or an additional CTX prophage or RS1 element(s) on the large chromosome. Androgen-dependent synthesis of alpha 2u globulin in the rat liver has been used in our laboratory as a model for studying the effect of sex hormones on hepatic gene expression. alpha 2u Globulin is a group of low molecular weight (Mr approximately 18,000) male specific urinary proteins synthesized and secreted by hepatocytes. In the male rat hepatic synthesis of alpha 2u globulin begins at puberty (approximately 40 days), reaches a peak level (approximately 20 mg/day) at about 75 days and declines during old age. Androgens can induce alpha 2u globulin in ovariectomized female rats in vivo and in the liver perfusion system in vitro. However, both prepubertal and senescent (greater than 800 days) male rats not only do not produce alpha 2u globulin but are also refractory to androgen administration. alpha 2u Globulin is coded by a multigene family comprising about 20-30 gene copies per haploid genome. All of these gene copies seem to express translationally active mRNAs giving rise to individual isoforms of alpha 2u globulin. Appearance and disappearance of the cytoplasmic androgen-binding protein (CAB) correlates with the androgen responsiveness of hepatocytes. Photoaffinity labeling of the hepatic cytosol shows that the biologically active binding protein, found in the cytosol of the mature male rat liver, has a molecular weight of 31 kDa. A molecular transition of the 31-kDa CAB to a biologically inactive 29-kDa form may be the basis of hepatic androgen insensitivity during prepuberty and senescence. 相似文献

Crude hemolysin from four KP+ strains of Vibrio parahaemolyticus belonging to serotype 02:K3 exhibited a major protein band (molecular weight, 65 kilodaltons (kDa] in addition to a previously known thermostable direct hemolysin band (molecular weight, 21 kDa) in SDS - polyacrylamide slab gel electrophoresis. These strains showed maximum virulence leading to 100% mouse lethality within 2-6 h. Differentiation between bloodstream and tsetse midgut procyclic forms during the life cycle of the African trypanosome is an attractive model for the analysis of stage-regulated events. In particular, this transformation occurs synchronously, there are well-defined markers for stage-regulated processes and cell lines with specific defects in differentiation have been identified. This combination of tools, combined with the developing Trypanosoma brucei genome database is allowing its underlying controls to be investigated at the molecular and cytological levels.
