To fully characterize the mechanisms of defibrillation, it is necessary to understand the response, within the three-dimensional (3D) volume of the ventricles, to shocks given in diastole. Studies that have examined diastolic responses conducted measurements on the epicardium or on a transmural surface of the left ventricular (LV) wall only. The goal of this study was to use optical imaging experiments and 3D bidomain simulations, including a model of optical mapping, to ascertain the shock-induced virtual electrode and activation patterns throughout the rabbit ventricles following diastolic shocks. We tested the hypothesis that the locations of shock-induced regions of hyperpolarization govern the different diastolic activation patterns for shocks of reversed polarity. In model and experiment, uniform-field monophasic shocks of reversed polarities (cathode over the right ventricle is RV-, reverse polarity is LV-) were applied to the ventricles in diastole. Experiments and simulations revealed that RV- shocks resulted in longer activation times compared with LV- shocks of the same strength. 3D simulations demonstrated that RV- shocks induced a greater volume of hyperpolarization at shock end compared with LV- shocks; most of these hyperpolarized regions were located in the LV. The results of this study indicate that ventricular geometry plays an important role in both the location and size of the shock-induced virtual anodes that determine activation delay during the shock and subsequently affect shock-induced propagation. If regions of hyperpolarization that develop during the shock are sufficiently large, activation delay may persist until shock end. 相似文献

We studied biochemical features of the lipid and phospholipid composition and patter of fatty acid spectra in lenses of one and two year old salmons bearing cataracts. The lipid complex of lenses of diseased fish underwent significant changes. Cataractogenesis was accompanied by enhanced free radical oxidation and accumulation of malone dialdehyde in lenses of salmons of various age. The intensification of oxidative processes was synchronized with the decreased level of antioxidant protection (reduced glutathione, vitamins A and E). We describe the spectral properties of an amine-reactive, pH-sensitive, long-wavelength ratiometric fluorescent label having a pKa in the physiological pH range. The label exhibits its main absorption and emission in the near-infrared (NIR) region. On deprotonation, a blue shift of the excitation maximum is observed. Importantly, both the protonated and deprotonated forms of the label are fluorescent, with the deprotonated form having an extremely large Stokes shift of more than 100 nm. The spectral and photophysical properties of this pH label are compared with the properties of the protein-conjugated forms. Due to the observed pKa shift to the acidic pH range upon conjugation to proteins, such labels are ideal for studying phagocytic events and their regulation by drugs and/or environmental factors. 相似文献

Kinematic parameters of cats local manipulating movements have been studied in the process of formation and stabilization of precise habit of moving and holding the lever in the zone of "working" space signalled by sound. It is shown that change of activity of the motor control system in the course of training is connected with the transfer from current correction of performed reaction to optimization of controlled parameters of pre-paired movements. It has been established that the formed precise coordination is realized owing to rapid movements with monomodal asymmetric profile of speed. During habit stabilization time to peak velocity significantly dropped from 274.6 +/- 84.7 to 211.0 +/- 22.9 ms and its value increased from 119.5 +/- 27.8 to 182.2 +/- 44.4 degrees/s. The stabilized habit is provided by uniform movements of ballistic type and characterized by independence from sound indication of final position, its reaching time becoming a function of amplitude-temporal values of speed maximum. It has been found that in the process of motor learning the relation of the duration of acceleration growth to the beginning of movement inhibition becomes an invariant parameter of the central program of precise reactions. 相似文献

In 56 dogs 86 microsurgical operations on transplantation of free dermal-facial autografts from the internal knee surface have been performed on the hidden vascular-nervous bundle. The animals have been observed for 1 day up to 1 year. The implanted grafts (63) have been studied, using a complex of anatomical, histological and roentgenological methods. During early time (up to 7 days) after the operation in the flap signs of edema, dystrophy and inflammatory infiltration of tissues predominate. The graft gets blood at the expense of the restored main artery and has no vascular connections with the surrounding tissues. Its nervous conductors are fragmented. During 2 weeks--1 month epidermis completely regenerates along the line of the dermal suture. In the flap bed mature granulations result in vascular connections with its surrounding tissues. These connections become stable by the end of the first month, this means that the graft has implanted. Its nervous fibers are also restored. Long-term observations demonstrate that the adaptive changes of the flap and its vascular bed are near to completion. By the end of the 1st year restoration of the main innervational connections of the graft takes place. According to the data obtained, the nervous conductors grow into it along the sewed hidden nerve and along the course of paravasal nerve plexuses. Intestinal function was studied in 26 patients with seven types of acute and chronic liver disease, documented by liver biopsy. Steatorrhea, defined by a stool fat higher than 6 g. per day, was present in 18 of 23 consecutive patients studied, an incidence of 78.3%. Two patients with infectious hepatitis associated with steatorrhea studied previously were added and the 20 cases were analyzed. The malabsorption found was confined to fat and fat-soluble vitamins; stool excretion varied from 6.1 to 22 g. per day in the seven groups studied. No histological abnormality was seen on jejunal biopsy, serum vitamin B12, D-xylose and Schilling tests were normal, and no radiological findings associated with malabsorption were detected in the small bowel. It is concluded that steatorrhea is a common finding in a wide variety of acute and chronic liver diseases and cannot be attributed to a primary defect of the small bowel. 相似文献
