Essential oil extracted from nutmeg seeds (Myristica fragrans Houtt .) by hydrodistillation was subjected to GC/MS and GC analysis. A total of 27 constituents were identified, of which eugenol (19.9%), methylisoeugenol (16.8%), methyleugenol (16.7%), sabinene (11.8%), and terpinen‐4‐ol (8.5%) were the major components. The essential oil was tested against Lasioderma serricorne for insecticidal and repellent activity, the LD50 value at the end of 24 h exposure period was 19.3 μg/adult. Six active compounds were isolated by bioassay‐guided fractionation. They were identified as eugenol ( 1 ), methyleugenol ( 2 ), methylisoeugenol ( 3 ), elemicin ( 4 ), myristicin ( 5 ), and safrole ( 6 ). Among these isolates, 4 showed the strongest contact toxicity against L. serricorne adults with an LD50 value of 9.8 μg/adult. Repellency of crude oil and active compounds were also determined. Compounds 1, 2, 4 , and 5 were strongly repellent against the cigarette beetle and exhibited the same level of repellency compared with the positive control, DEET. The results indicate that the essential oil of M. fragrans and its active constituents have potential for development as natural insecticides and repellents to control L. serricorne. 相似文献

Heart failure preceded by pathological cardiac hypertrophy is a leading cause of death. Long noncoding RNA small nucleolar RNA host gene 1 (SNHG1) was reported to inhibit cardiomyocytes apoptosis, but the role and underlying mechanism of SNHG1 in pathological cardiac hypertrophy have not yet been understood. This study was designed to investigate the role and molecular mechanism of SNHG1 in regulating cardiac hypertrophy. We found that SNHG1 was upregulated during cardiac hypertrophy both in vivo (transverse aortic constriction treatment) and in vitro (phenylephrine [PE] treatment). SNHG1 overexpression attenuated the cardiomyocytes hypertrophy induced by PE, while SNHG1 inhibition promoted hypertrophic response of cardiomyocytes. Furthermore, SNHG1 and high‐mobility group AT‐hook 1 (HMGA1) were confirmed to be targets of miR‐15a‐5p. SNHG1 promoted HMGA1 expression by sponging miR‐15a‐5p, eventually attenuating cardiomyocytes hypertrophy. There data revealed a novel protective mechanism of SNHG1 in cardiomyocytes hypertrophy. Thus, targeting of SNHG1‐related pathway may be therapeutically harnessed to treat cardiac hypertrophy. 相似文献

Sodium ion batteries are now attracting great attention, mainly because of the abundance of sodium resources and their cheap raw materials. 2D materials possess a unique structure for sodium storage. Among them, transition metal chalcogenides exhibit significant potential for rechargeable battery devices due to their tunable composition, remarkable structural stability, fast ion transport, and robust kinetics. Herein, ultrathin TiS2 nanosheets are synthesized by a shear‐mixing method and exhibit outstanding cycling performance (386 mAh g?1 after 200 cycles at 0.2 A g?1). To clarify the variations of galvanostatic curves and superior cycling performance, the mechanism and morphology changes are systematically investigated. This facile synthesis method is expected to shed light on the preparation of ultrathin 2D materials, whose unique morphologies could easily enable their application in rechargeable batteries. 相似文献

To gain insight into the molecular epidemiology and possible mechanisms of genetic variation of porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome (PRRS) in Yunnan Province of China, the ORF5 gene of 32 PRRSV isolates from clinical samples collected from 2007 to 2009 were sequenced and analyzed. Nucleotide and amino acid analyses were carried out on 32 isolates and representative strains of the North American genotype, European genotype and two representative Chinese isolates. Results revealed that these isolates share 86.9-99.0% nucleotide and 87.5-98.0% amino acid identity with VR-2332 the prototypical North American PRRSV, 61.7-62.9% and 54.3-57.8% with Lelystad virus (LV) the representative strain of European genotype, 91.2-95.4% and 90.0-94.5% with CH-1a that was isolated in mainland China in 1996, 88.1-99.3% and 85.5-99.0% with JX-A1 the representative strain of High pathogenic PRRSV in China, and 86.2-99.8% and 85.5-100.0% between isolated strains of different years, respectively. Phylogenetic analysis revealed that all 32 PRRSV isolates belonged to the North American genotype and were further divided into two different subgenotypes. Subgenotype 1 comprised twenty two Yunnan isolates which divided into two branches. Subgenotype 2 comprised ten isolates which closely related to the RespPRRS vaccine and its parent strain VR-2332. The functional domains of GP5 such as the signal peptide, ectodomain, transmembrane regions and endodomain were identified and some motifs in GP5 with known functions, such as primary neutralizing epitope (PNE) and decoy epitope were also further analyzed. Although vitamin D has been implicated in cardiovascular protection, few studies have addressed the role of vitamin D receptor (VDR) in atherosclerosis. Here we investigate the effect of inactivation of the VDR signaling on atherogenesis and the antiatherosclerotic mechanism of vitamin D. Low density lipoprotein receptor (LDLR)(-/-)/VDR(-/-) mice exhibited site-specific accelerated atherogenesis, accompanied by increases in adhesion molecules and proinflammatory cytokines in the aorta and cholesterol influx in macrophages. Macrophages showed marked renin up-regulation in the absence of VDR, and inhibition of renin by aliskiren reduced atherosclerosis in LDLR(-/-)/VDR(-/-) mice, suggesting that the renin-angiotensin system (RAS) promotes atherosclerosis in the absence of VDR. LDLR(-/-) mice receiving LDLR(-/-)/VDR(-/-) BMT developed larger lesions than LDLR(-/-) BMT controls. Moreover, LDLR(-/-) mice receiving Rag-1(-/-)/VDR(-/-) BMT, which were unable to generate functional T and B lymphocytes, still had more severe atherosclerosis than Rag-1(-/-) BMT controls, suggesting a critical role of macrophage VDR signaling in atherosclerotic suppression. Aliskiren treatment eliminated the difference in lesions between Rag-1(-/-)/VDR(-/-) BMT and Rag-1(-/-) BMT recipients, indicating that local RAS activation in macrophages contributes to the enhanced atherogenesis seen in Rag-1(-/-)/VDR(-/-) BMT mice. Taken together, these observations provide evidence that macrophage VDR signaling, in part by suppressing the local RAS, inhibits atherosclerosis in mice. 相似文献

The ~350 km2 water level fluctuation zone (WLFZ) in the Three Gorges Reservoir (TGR) of China, situated at the intersection of terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems, experiences a great hydrological change with prolonged winter inundation. Soil samples were collected in 12 sites pre- (September 2008) and post submergence (June 2009) in the WLFZ and analyzed for soil nutrients. Self-organizing map (SOM) and statistical analysis including multi-way ANOVA, paired-T test, and stepwise least squares multiple regression were employed to determine the spatio-temporal variations of soil nutrients in relation to submergence, and their correlations with soil physical characteristics. Results showed significant spatial variability in nutrients along ~600 km long shoreline of the TGR before and after submergence. There were higher contents of organic matter, total nitrogen (TN), and nitrate (NO3-) in the lower reach and total phosphorus (TP) in the upper reach that were primarily due to the spatial variations in soil particle size composition and anthropogenic activities. Submergence enhanced soil available potassium (K), while significantly decreased soil N, possibly due to the alterations of soil particle size composition and increase in soil pH. In addition, SOM analysis determined important roles of soil pH value, bulk density, soil particle size (i.e., silt and sand) and nutrients (TP, TK, and AK) on the spatial and temporal variations in soil quality. Our results suggest that urban sewage and agricultural runoffs are primary pollutants that affect soil nutrients in the WLFZ of TGR. 相似文献
