The differential expressions of three genes rbcL, salT and rab!6 in response to ABA, NaCl, PEG and heat shock were investigated in seedlings of a salt-tolerant rice mutant 20 (mutant 20) and its parental variety Oryza sativa var. japonica 77-170(170). By Northern blot analysis it was found that ABA induced the expression of all three genes of rbcL, salT and rab16 in shoots and roots of both 170 and mutant 20 with the exceptions of rab16 in shoots of mutant 20 and rbcL in roots of 170. Lower concentrations of NaCl induced rbcL expression in shoots of mutant 20 but not 170. Higher concentrations of NaCl decreased rbcL expression but induced expressions of salT and rab16 in shoots of both 170 and mutant 20. PEG(15%) and 37℃ heat shock showed almost no effects on the expression of the three genes in mutant 20. However, they caused a decrease in rbcL expression and slight induction of the rab16 gene in 170, with salT expression unaffected. The objective of this study was to extend our previous research and to further characterize the humoral immune responses against HIV-1 p24, gp41 and the specific peptides carrying the immunodominant epitopes (IDEs) that react with human serum samples from HIV-1-infected individuals in China. We found that the majority (90.45%, 180/199) of the samples did not react with any of the three HIV-1 p24 peptides carrying IDEs, but did react with the recombinant full-length p24, suggesting that these samples tested in China were primarily directed against the conformational epitopes of HIV-1 p24. In contrast, 84.54% (164/194) of the samples reacted with at least one HIV-1 linear gp41 peptide, in particular the gp41-p1 peptide (amino acids 560–616). Both recently and long-term HIV-1-infected individuals displayed similar humoral immune responses against the recombinant gp41. However, samples from long-term HIV-1-infected subjects but not from recently infected subjects, showed a very strong reaction against the gp41-p1 peptide. The different response patterns observed for the two groups against the gp41 and the peptide gp41-p1 were statistically significant (P<0.01, Chi-square test). These results have direct relevance and importance for design of improved HIV-1 p24 detection assays and the gp41- based immunoassay that can be used to reliably distinguish recent and long-term HIV-1 infection. 相似文献

Stryphnoside A, α-l-rhamnopyranosyl 3β-O-[α-l-arabinopyranosyl-(1→4)-β-d-xylopyranosyl-(1→2)-β-d-glucopyranosyl]-2α-hydroxyolean-12-en-28-oate, has been synthesized in 11 steps in 15% overall yield starting from the naturally abundant oleanolic acid. Condensation of a partially protected glucopyranosyl donor and 2α,3β-dihydroxyolean-12-en-28-oic acid derivative using inverse glycosylation procedure has significantly simplified the target saponin synthesis. Genotype-by-environment interactions (GxE) are commonly observed for quantitative traits. In the present study, a doubled
haploid (DH) population and its genetic linkage map were used to comparatively study QTLs in salt stress and nonstress environments.
A total of 24 QTLs were detected for five agronomic traits, which were distributed on all the chromosomes except 9 and 11.
Under the salt stress, nine (37.5%) QTLs were detected, including one for 1 000-grain weight (GW), two for heading date (HD),
one for plant height (PH), two for grains per panicle (GPP), and three for effective tillers (ET), while in the nonstress
environment, 17 QTLs (70.8%) were detected, including five for GW, six for HD, three for PH, two for GPP, and one for ET.
Two QTLs (8.3%) were consistently detected in both environments. One was identified on chromosome 4 for HD and the other on
Chr.6 for GPP. Furthermore, three regions carrying multiple QTLs were identified on chromosomes 1, 4 and 8 respectively. For
example, on chromosome 8, three QTLs for HD, GW and PH, respectively were identified between RG885-GA408 in nonstress environment,
but not in the stress environment. The comparative study of QTLs detected in extremely different (salt stress and nonstress)
environments revealed that there existed several QTLs for important agronomic traits on chromosome 8 which were affected significantly
