The maximum number of germ cells is present during the fetal life in mammals. Follicular atresia results in rapid depletion of germ cells from the cohort of the ovary. At the time of puberty, only a few hundred (<1%) germ cells are either culminated into oocytes or further get eliminated during the reproductive life. Although apoptosis plays a major role, necrosis as well as necroptosis, might also be involved in germ cell elimination from the mammalian ovary. Both necrosis and necroptosis show similar morphological features and are characterized by an increase in cell volume, cell membrane permeabilization, and rupture that lead to cellular demise. Necroptosis is initiated by tumor necrosis factor and operated through receptor interacting protein kinase as well as mixed lineage kinase domain-like protein. The acetylcholinesterase, cytokines, starvation, and oxidative stress play important roles in necroptosis-mediated granulosa cell death. The granulosa cell necroptosis directly or indirectly induces susceptibility toward necroptotic or apoptotic cell death in oocytes. Indeed, prevention of necrosis and necroptosis pathways using their specific inhibitors could enhance growth/differentiation factor-9 expression, improve survivability as well as the meiotic competency of oocytes, and prevent decline of reproductive potential in several mammalian species and early onset of menopause in women. Seven aerobic bacterial strains were isolated from pulp paper mill waste and screened for pentachlorophenol (PCP) tolerance
on PCP containing mineral salt agar medium (MSM). The organism was characterized by 16S rDNA sequencing which showed 99.7%
sequence similarity with Serratia
marcescens. PCP degradation was routinely monitored with spectrophotometric analysis and further confirmed by HPLC analysis. Among seven
strains, ITRC S7 was found to degrade up to 90.33% of 1.127 mM (300 mg/l) of PCP and simultaneous release of chloride ion (2.435 mM) emphasized
the bacterial dechlorination in the medium in presence of glucose as an additional carbon and energy source under optimized
condition within 168 h incubation. In absence of glucose bacterium was unable to utilize PCP indicating the phenomenon of
co-metabolism. Bacterium was identified as S. marcescens (AY927692), was a novel and potential aerobic bacterial strain capable of degrading PCP in axenic condition. Further, this

With whole U87MG cells used as antigenic stimulant, two clones 1A5G6 and 1D3A3 secreted monoclonal antibodies which gave intense
staining in monolayer cultures of the cells as ascertained by indirect immunofluorescence. Antibodies from clone 1A5G6 stained
both the cytoplasm and the processes, and that from clone 1D3A3 stained only the cytoplasm and not the processes. 1A5G6 elicited
no cross-reactivity towards human fetal and adult brain and lungs, liver, kidney or spleen, mouse neuroblastoma and melanoma,
rat C6 glioma, neuroblastoma X glioma hybrid and normal rat kidney cells. It gave 58–60% cross reactivity with the human neuroblastoma
and T-cell leukemia cells. The antigenic comPonent has been identified to be a membrane protein of molecular weight 25–30
kilodaltons by immunoblotting. Using C6 glioma cells as antigenic stimulant 19 clones which were positive for C6 glioma cells, but negative for rat liver cells as inferred by indirect immunofluorescence were selected. Antibodies secreted
by all these gave positive reaction towards normal rat kidney and fetal rat kidney cells in culture. Distinct identity of

Novel 2′-fluoro-6′-methylene-carbocyclic adenosine (FMCA) monophosphate prodrug (FMCAP) was synthesized and evaluated for its in vitro anti-HBV potency against a lamivudine–entecavir resistant clone (L180M + M204V + S202G). FMCA demonstrated significant antiviral activity against wild-type as well as lamivudine–entecavir resistant triple mutant (L180M + M204V + S202G). The monophosphate prodrug (FMCAP) demonstrated greater than 12-fold (12×) increase in anti-HBV activity without increased cellular toxicity. Mitochondrial and cellular toxicity studies of FMCA indicated that there is no significant toxicity up to 100 μM. Mode of action studies by molecular modeling indicate that the 2′-fluoro moiety by hydrogen bond as well as the Van der Waals interaction of the carbocyclic ring with the phenylalanine moiety of the polymerase promote the positive binding, even in the drug-resistant mutants. 相似文献

The study was conducted on human volunteers as controls as well as after administration of vanadyl sulphate on induction
to high altitude (HA) at 3500 m. The plasma vanadium contents were significantly reduced in the control group on abrupt induction
to HA on days 3 and 10, indicating redistribution to other organs/tissues under the stressful situation. In the vanadium salt-treated
group, plasma vanadium contents were similar to those obtained at sea-level. Administration of vanadyl sulphate did not act
as a diuretic. Moreover the vanadium supplemented group drank more water and also excrete less urine than the control group.

Fungicide application is an effective management option to control late blight of potato (caused by Phytophthora infestans). Field experiments were conducted to evaluate the efficacy of recently introduced and previously used fungicides on late blight management and potato yields in the western plains of Nepal in 2015 and 2016 crop seasons. Fungicides and a non-treated control (NTC) were replicated three times in a randomized block design planted with late blight susceptible cultivar Cardinal. Chlorothalonil, copper oxychloride, dimethomorph, fenamidone + mancozeb, mancozeb and metalaxyl were sprayed in 2015. In 2016, carbendazim was used instead of chlorothalonil. The area under disease progress curve (AUDPC) was consistently reduced in years by dimethomorph (90% and 65% in 2015 and 2016, respectively), fenamidone + mancozeb (68% and 62%) and mancozeb (40% and 47%) compared with the NTC. Similarly, tuber yield was increased with the application of dimethomorph (266% and 146% in 2015 and 2016, respectively), fenamidone + mancozeb (211% and 155%) and mancozeb (136% and 116%) compared with the NTC. Chlorothalonil reduced AUDPC by 43% and increased tuber yield by 170% in 2015. Other fungicides either had inconsistent results or did not reduce late blight severity and consequent effects on potato yield. The overall benefit–cost ratio was highest for dimethomorph in both years. These results show efficacy of dimethomorph, fenamidone + mancozeb and mancozeb in reducing late blight severity and increasing potato tuber yield in the plains of Nepal. 相似文献
