The far-infrared spectroelectrochemistry of linear M/Fe/S (M=Mo, W) complexes was investigated in methylene chloride and dichloroethane. With CsI as spectral windows, bands above 200 cm−1 can be observed in methylene chloride, except for a weak methylene chloride band at 450 cm−1. Substitution of dichloroethane for methylene chloride, solvents of nearly identical electrochemical properties, allows one to observe solute bands in the 450-cm−1 region. The far-infrared spectroelectrochemistry of [MoFe2S4Cl4]2− and its tungsten analogue was investigated. The disappearance of the oxidation bands and the appearance of bands due to the reduced product could be clearly observed. The origin of the vibrational bands could be clearly identified using 34S-substituted complexes. In addition to the far-infrared bands, the resonance Raman spectroelectrochemistry of the oxidized and reduced complex, along with the 34S-substituted complexes was obtained. Far-infrared and resonance Raman spectroelectrochemistry can be combined to understand the electrochemical mechanism of transition metal complexes.  相似文献

Despite much effort over the past decade on the ecological consequences of global warming, ecologists still have little understanding of the importance of interspecific interactions in species responses to environmental change. Models predict that predation should mitigate species responses to environmental change, and that interspecific competition should aggravate species responses to environmental change. To test this prediction, we studied how predation and competition affected the responses of two ciliates, Colpidium striatum and Paramecium tetraurelia , to temperature change in laboratory microcosms. We found that neither predation nor competition altered the responses of Colpidium striatum to temperature change, and that competition but not predation altered the responses of Paramecium tetraurelia to temperature change. Asymmetric interactions and temperature-dependent interactions may have contributed to the disparity between model predictions and experimental results. Our results suggest that models ignoring inherent complexities in ecological communities may be inadequate in forecasting species responses to environmental change.  相似文献

The effect of the diving response on alveolar gas exchange was investigated in 15 subjects. During steady-state exercise (80 W) on a cycle ergometer, the subjects performed 40-s apneas in air and 40-s apneas with face immersion in cold (10 degrees C) water. Heart rate decreased and blood pressure increased during apneas, and the responses were augmented by face immersion. Oxygen uptake from the lungs decreased during apnea in air (-22% compared with eupneic control) and was further reduced during apnea with face immersion (-25% compared with eupneic control). The plasma lactate concentration increased from control (11%) after apnea in air and even more after apnea with face immersion (20%), suggesting an increased anaerobic metabolism during apneas. The lung oxygen store was depleted more slowly during apnea with face immersion because of the augmented diving response, probably including a decrease in cardiac output. Venous oxygen stores were probably reduced by the cardiovascular responses. The turnover times of these gas stores would have been prolonged, reducing their effect on the oxygen uptake in the lungs. Thus the human diving response has an oxygen-conserving effect.  相似文献

In order to explore the relevant molecular genetic mechanisms of photosynthetic rate (PR) and chlorophyll content (CC) in rice ( Oryza sativa L.), we conducted a series of related experiments using a population of recombinant inbred lines (Zhenshan97B × IRAT109). We found a significant correlation between CC and PR ( R = 0.19**) in well-watered conditions, but no significant correlation during water stress ( r = 0.08). We detected 13 main quantitative trait loci (QTLs) located on chromosomes 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 10, which were associated with CC, including six QTLs located on chromosomes 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 during water stress, and seven QTLs located on chromosomes 2, 3, 4, 6, and 10 in well-watered conditions. These QTLs explained 47.39% of phenotypic variation during water stress and 56.19% in well-watered conditions. We detected four main QTLs associated with PR; three of them ( qPR2 , qPR10 , qPR11 ) were located on chromosomes 2, 10, and 11 during water stress, and one ( qPR10 ) was located on chromosome 10 in well-watered conditions. These QTLs explained 34.37% and 18.41% of the phenotypic variation in water stress and well-watered conditions, respectively. In total, CC was largely controlled by main QTLs, and PR was mainly controlled by epistatic QTL pairs.  相似文献

Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is the most common form of dementia and exhibits a considerable level of heritability. Previous association studies gave evidence for the associations of HLA-DRB1/DQB1 alleles with AD. However, how and when the gene variants in HLA-DRB1/DQB1 function in AD pathogenesis has yet to be determined. Here, we firstly investigated the association of gene variants in HLA-DRB1/DQB1 alleles and AD related brain structure on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in a large sample from the Alzheimer’s Disease Neuroimaging Initiative (ADNI). We selected hippocampus, subregion, parahippocampus, posterior cingulate, precuneus, middle temporal, entorhinal cortex, and amygdala as regions of interest (ROIs). Twelve SNPs in HLA-DRB1/DQB1 were identified in the dataset following quality control measures. In the total group hybrid population analysis, our study (rs35445101, rs1130399, and rs28746809) were associated with the smaller baseline volume of the left posterior cingulate and rs2854275 was associated with the larger baseline volume of the left posterior cingulate. Furthermore, we detected the above four associations in mild cognitive impairment (MCI) sub-group analysis, and two risk loci (rs35445101 and rs1130399) were also the smaller baseline volume of the left posterior cingulate in (NC) sub-group analysis. Our study suggested that HLA-DRB1/DQB1 gene variants appeared to modulate the alteration of the left posterior cingulate volume, hence modulating the susceptibility of AD.  相似文献

(?)-Dehydroxymethylepoxyquinomicin ((?)-DHMEQ, 1) is a specific inhibitor of NF-κB. It binds to SH group in the specific cysteine residue of NF-κB components with its epoxide moiety to inhibit DNA binding. In the present research, we have designed and synthesized an epoxide-free analog called (S)-β-salicyloylamino-α-exo-methylene-?-butyrolactone (SEMBL, 3). SEMBL inhibited DNA binding of NF-κB component p65 in vitro. It inhibited LPS-induced NF-κB activation, iNOS expression, and inflammatory cytokine secretions. It also inhibited NF-κB and cellular invasion in ovarian carcinoma ES-2 cells. Moreover, its stability in aqueous solution was greatly enhanced compared with (?)-DHMEQ. Thus, SEMBL has a potential to be a candidate for a new anti-inflammatory and anticancer agent.  相似文献

Regulator of the H+-ATPase of the vacuolar and endosomal membranes (RAVE) is essential for the reversible assembly of H+-ATPase. RAVE primarily consists of three subunits: Rav1p, Rav2p and Skp1p. To characterize these subunits, in this study, four strains derived from Saccharomyces cerevisiae BY4742 were constructed with a FLAG tag on the Rav1p and Rav2p subunits. Then, the corresponding RAVE containing complex was isolated by affinity purification. Western blot and MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry analyses showed that the RAVE complex contains not only the known V1-ATPase subunits (Vma1p and Vma2p) but also a newly found Leu1p that interacts with the RAVE subunit. Furthermore, we constructed rav1?/rav2?/vma2?/leu1-deficient recombinants by fusion PCR and homologous recombination and demonstrated that leu1 is indispensable in adjusting the microbial cell to adverse environments and that the function is similar to that of rav1/rav2 but significantly differs from that of vma2. Leu1p probably plays an important role in RAVE regulation of V-ATPase activity in conjunction with RAVE.  相似文献
