Heavy metal contaminations in the environment of mining area have become a global problem. The vicinity of an iron ore mine was investigated to estimate the concentrations of As, Pb, Cd, Mn, Ni, Zn, and Cr in the soil and the feasibility of using native plants for phytoremediation. For this, concentrations of elements in soil samples collected and were analyzed by inductivity coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry. The concentrations of heavy metals and arsenic in the roots and aerial parts of Dactylis glomerata L. and Scleranthus orientalis Rössler were analyzed by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer too. As concentrations in the samples surpassed the soil toxicity threshold. Cd concentration in soil samples was considerably high next to mine pit. Neither species was identified as a hyperaccumulator, but both species could be considered as excluder plants for As. 相似文献

Bunch wilting, a disorder of date palm (Phoenix dactylifera L.) and caused by climatic factors (low relative humidity along with high temperatures), critically damages its production in Iran. In this study, the effects of 5-aminolevulinic acid (5-ALA) as precursor of chlorophyll and elicitor of antioxidants applied to be involve directly or indirectly in stress tolerance mechanisms, bunch wilting severity, and other physiological aspects on 10–12 years old date palm in two locations. 5-ALA concentrations included 0 (control), 200, 240 and 280 ppm, applied as aqueous solution at biweekly intervals from fruit set until the beginning of fruit Kimri stage on leaves around the fruit bunches (for three times). Results showed that the yield of trees and bunch weight increased; hydrolytic enzymes activities in stalk and fruit decreased and activities of peroxidase, superoxide dismutase, and catalase, important enzymes of the antioxidative system were increased. The plants’ redox state changed as identified by decrease in H2O2 and proline of fruits. Microelement concentrations of leaves were changed at damage stage. Perhaps, due to mild environmental conditions in location A, lower bunch wilting and better physiological conditions of fruits recorded compared to location B. Foliar application of 5-ALA resulted to a coordinated action of the antioxidative system, affecting the defense-related enzymes. The treatment caused biosynthesis of chlorophyll and adjustments in H2O2 and proline compositions in leaf, stalk, and fruit. Bunch wilting was alleviated by 240 ppm 5-ALA, moderating the response of tree load to environmental stress conditions. 相似文献

Gastric and esophageal cancers are as main cancers of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract, which are associated with poor diagnosis and survival. Several efforts were made in the past few decades to finding effective therapeutic approaches, but these approaches had several problems. Finding new biomarkers is a critical step in finding new approaches for the treatment of these cancers. Finding new biomarkers that cover various aspects of the diseases could provide a choice of suitable therapies and better monitoring of patients with these cancers. Among several biomarkers tissue specific and circulating microRNAs (miRNAs) have emerged as powerful candidates in the diagnosis of gastric and esophageal cancers. MiRNAs are small noncoding single‐stranded RNA molecules that are found in the blood and regulate gene expression. These have numerous characteristics that make them suitable for being used as ideal biomarkers in cancer diagnosis. Research has indicated that the level and profile of miRNA in serum and plasma are very high. They are potentially noninvasive and sensitive enough to detect tumors in their primary stages of infection. Multiple lines of evidence indicate that the presence, absence, or deregulation of several circulating miRNAs (i.e., let‐7a, miR‐21, miR‐93, miR‐192a, miR‐18a, and miR‐10b for gastric cancer, and miR‐21, miR‐375, miR‐25‐3p, miR‐151a‐3p, and miR‐100‐3p for esophageal cancer) are associated with initiation and progression of gastric and esophageal cancers. The aim of this review is to highlight the recent advances in the roles of miRNAs in diagnosis and treatment of gastric and esophageal cancers. 相似文献

Background:
Neisseria meningitidis, a life-threatening human pathogen with the potential to cause large epidemics, can be isolated from the nasopharynx of 5–15% of adults. The aim of the current study was to evaluate biophysical and biochemical properties and immunological aspects of chimeric acyl-carrier protein-macrophage infectivity potentiator protein-type IV pilus biogenesis protein antigen (ACP-MIP-PilQ) from N. meningitidis serogroup B strain. Methods:
Biochemical properties and multiple alignments were predicted by appropriate web servers. Secondary molecular structures were predicted based on Chou and Fasman, Garnier-Osguthorpe-Robson, and Neural Network methods. Tertiary modeling elucidated conformational properties of the chimeric protein. Proteasome cleavage and transporter associated with antigen processing (TAP) binding sites, and T- and B-cell antigenic epitopes, were predicted using bioinformatic web servers. Results:
Based on our in silico and immunoinformatics analyses, the ACP-MIP-PilQ protein (AMP) can induce high-level cross-strain bactericidal activity. In addition, several immune proteasomal cleavage sites were detected. The 22 epitopes associated with MHC class I and class II (DR) alleles were confirmed in the AMP. Thirty linear B-cell epitopes as antigenic regions were predicted from the full-length protein. Conclusion:
All predicted properties of the AMP indicate it could be a good candidate for further immunological in vitro and in vivo studies.Key Words: Chimeric protein, In silico, Neisseria meningitides, serogroup B, Vaccine 相似文献130.

Listeriosis is considered as an important public health issue. Sortase A (srtA) is an enzyme with catalytic role in L. monocytogenes
that breaks the junction between threonine and glycine in the LPXTG motif (a key motif in internalin A (InlA) that plays an
important role in listeriosis). Inactivation of srtA was shown to inhibit anchoring of the invasion protein InIA. This is in addition to
inhibiting peptidoglycan-associated LPXTG proteins. Therefore, it is of interest to inhibit strA using potential molecules. Here, we
describe the design of an inhibitor with high binding affinity to srtA with the ability to prevent the attachment of srtA to the
LPXTG proteins such as InIJ. A homology model of Listeria monocytogenes Sortase A was developed using MODELLER (version
9.12). We screened StrA to 100,000 drug-like ligands from the Zinc database using Molecular docking and virtual screening tool
PyRX). Pharmacokinetic analysis using the FAFDrugs3 web server along with ADME and toxicity analysis based on Lipinski rule of
five were adopted for the screening exercise followed by oral toxicity check using PROTOX (a server) for every 10 successive hits.
The results from PROTOX server indicated that Lig #1 (with LD50 of 2000mg/kg) and Lig #7 (with LD50 of 2000mg/kg) have
toxicity class 4 and Lig #3 (with LD50 of 14430mg/kg) has toxicity class 6. Subsequent modifications of these structures followed
by FAFDrugs3 analysis for high bioavailability value selected Lig #7 according to Lipinski rules of five. Thus, Lig #7 with IUPAC
name ((R)-4-{(S)-1-[(S)-2-Amino-4-methylvaleryl]-2-pyrrolidinyl}-1-[(S)-1-(ethylamino) carbonyl-propylamino] -2-propyl-1, 4-
butanedione) is suggested as a potential candidate for srtA inhibition for further consideration. 相似文献
