It has been postulated that the building of the Shahid-Rajaei dam on the Tajan River around 1995 has lead to the morphological
divergence of Siah Mahi Capotes capoeta gracilis (Pisces) of up- and downstream populations due to the isolation. A 13-landmark morphometric truss network system was used
to investigate the hypothesis. Univariate analysis of variance showed significant differences between the means of the two
groups for 45 standardized morphometric measurements out of 78 characters studied. In linear discriminant function analysis
(DFA), the overall assignment of individuals into their original groups was 87.6%. The proportion of individuals correctly
classified into their original groups was 90.3% for upstream and 83.7% for downstream population. The principal component
analysis (PCA) scatter plot of individual component scores between PC1 and PC2 showed 121 fish specimens grouped into two
areas but with a relativity high degree of overlap between two populations. Clustering analysis based on Euclidean square
distances among groups of centroids using an UPGMA resulted into two main clusters indicating two populations of C. c. gracilis. The present study indicated the presence of two morphologically different populations of C. c. gracilis in the Tajan River across the Shahid-Rajaei dam, probably due to their limited downstream dispersal and the elimination of

Breast cancer is the most common neoplastic disorder diagnosed in women. The main goal of this study was to explore the effect of melatonin against breast cancer metastasis and compared this with the actions of taxol (a well-known chemotherapeutic drug), and the impact of their combination against breast cancer metastasis. Melatonin showed no cytotoxic effect while taxol showed antiproliferative and cytotoxic effects on MCF-7 and MDA-MB-231 cells. Furthermore, melatonin inhibited the generation of reactive oxygen species. Melatonin and taxol clearly decreased cell migration and invasion at low doses, especially those matching the normal physiological concentration at night. Melatonin and taxol markedly reduced DJ-1 and ID-1 and increased KLF17 messenger RNA and protein expression levels. The present results also showed that melatonin and taxol induced GSK3-β nuclear and Snail cytosolic localization. These changes were accompanied by a concurrent rise in E-cadherin expression. The above data show that normal levels of melatonin may help in preventing breast cancer metastasis through inhibiting DJ-1/KLF17/ID-1 signaling pathway. The combination of melatonin and taxol is a potent candidate against breast cancer metastasis, better than using melatonin or taxol as a single drug. 相似文献

Nanoemulsions are increasingly being investigated for their fascinating capability of loading both hydrophobic and hydrophilic molecules while their stability is still an issue, being affected by various factors. In this study, to evaluate the dominant factors affecting the stability of nanoemulsions, artificial neural networks (ANNs) were implemented. Nanoemulsions of almond oil in water containing oleic acid-coated superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles were prepared using a mixture of Tween 80 and Span 80 as surfactant system and ethanol as a co-surfactant. The ratio of transparency of the samples at 30 min and 7 days after preparation was taken as an indication of the stability of samples. Four independent variables, namely, concentration of nanoparticle, surfactant, oil, and alcohol were investigated to find their relations with the dependent variable (i.e., transparency ratio). Using ANNs modeling, it was concluded that the stability is affected by all variables, with all variables showing reverse effect on the stability beyond an optimum amount.Key words: artificial neural networks, nanoemulsion, optimization, stability, superparamagnetic iron oxide 相似文献

We show that for a k-periodic difference equation, if a periodic orbit of period r is globally asymptotically stable (GAS), then r must be a divisor of k. Moreover, if r divides k we construct a non-autonomous dynamical system having minimum period k and which has a GAS periodic orbit with minimum period r. Our method uses the technique of skew-product dynamical systems. Our methods are then applied to prove two conjectures of Cushing and Henson concerning a non-autonomous Beverton-Holt equation which arises in the study of the response of a population to a periodically fluctuating environmental force such as seasonal fluctuations in carrying capacity or demographic parameters like birth or death rates. We give an equality linking the average population with the growth rates and carrying capacities (in the 2-periodic case) which shows that out-of-phase oscillations in these quantities always have a deleterious effect on the average population. The versatile, hitherto unreported 4-acetyl-5-methyl-1-phenyl-3-phenylcarbamoyl-1H-pyrazole (3) was prepared via the reaction of 2-(2-phenylhydrazono)-2-chloro-N-phenylacetamide with pentan-2,4-dione in the presence of sodium ethoxide. Reaction of 3 with dimethylformamide-dimethylacetal (DMF-DMA) furnished the corresponding 4-[(E)-3-(dimethylamino)acryloyl]-5-methyl-1-phenyl-3-phenylcarbamoyl-1H-pyrazole (5). The latter product underwent regioselective 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition with some nitrilimines to afford the non-isolable dihydropyrazole intermediates which then lose dimethylamine yielding the corresponding pyrazole derivatives. The preliminary screening for the antitumor activity of all newly synthesized compounds was carried out against Ehrlich Ascites Carcinoma tumor cells. 相似文献

The versatile synthons 4-(2-bromoacetyl)-5-methyl-1-phenyl-3-phenylcarbamoyl-1H-pyrazole (3) and 4-[(E)-3-(dimethylamino)acryloyl]-5-methyl-1-phenyl-3-phenylcarbamoyl-1H-pyrazole (2) were used as precursors for the synthesis of a series of phenylpyrazoles with different aromatic ring systems at position 4. The antimicrobiological evaluation of the newly synthesized compounds was carried out in vitro assays for antifungal and antibacterial activities. Amongst the tested compounds, 4-acetyl-5-methyl-1-phenyl-3-phenylcarbamoyl-1H-pyrazole (1), 4-[(E)-3-(dimethylamino)acryloyl]-5-methyl-1-phenyl-3-phenylcarbamoyl-1H-pyrazole (2), 4-(2-bromoacetyl)-5-methyl-1-phenyl-3-phenylcarbamoyl-1H-pyrazole (3) and 4-(2-aminothiazol-4-yl)-5-methyl-1-phenyl-3-phenylcarbamoyl-1H-pyrazole (17) showed interesting antimicrobial properties. In particular, all tested compounds produced inhibitory effects against pathogenic yeast (Candida albicans) similar or superior to those of reference drug. In addition, compound 3 showed excellent activity against pathogenic mould (Aspergillus). From structure-activity relationship (SAR) point of view, the attachment of bromoacetyl moiety to pyrazole ring can be considered as a breakthrough in developing a new therapeutic antifungal agent related to phenylpyrazole system. 相似文献

The initial interaction of a pathogenic fungus with its host is complex and involves numerous metabolic pathways and regulatory proteins. Considerable attention has been devoted to proteins that play a crucial role in these interactions, with an emphasis on so‐called effector molecules that are secreted by the invading microbe to establish the symbiosis. However, the contribution of other types of molecules, such as glycans, is less well appreciated. Here, we present a random genetic screen that enabled us to identify 58 novel candidate genes that are involved in the pathogenic potential of the fungal pathogen Verticillium dahliae, which causes vascular wilt diseases in over 200 dicotyledonous plant species, including economically important crops. One of the candidate genes that was identified concerns a putative biosynthetic gene involved in nucleotide sugar precursor formation, as it encodes a putative nucleotide‐rhamnose synthase/epimerase‐reductase (NRS/ER). This enzyme has homology to bacterial enzymes involved in the biosynthesis of the nucleotide sugar deoxy‐thymidine diphosphate (dTDP)‐rhamnose, a precursor of L‐rhamnose, which has been shown to be required for virulence in several human pathogenic bacteria. Rhamnose is known to be a minor cell wall glycan in fungi and has therefore not been suspected as a crucial molecule in fungal–host interactions. Nevertheless, our study shows that deletion of the VdNRS/ER gene from the V. dahliae genome results in complete loss of pathogenicity on tomato and Nicotiana benthamiana plants, whereas vegetative growth and sporulation are not affected. We demonstrate that VdNRS/ER is a functional enzyme in the biosynthesis of uridine diphosphate (UDP)‐rhamnose, and further analysis has revealed that VdNRS/ER deletion strains are impaired in the colonization of tomato roots. Collectively, our results demonstrate that rhamnose, although only a minor cell wall component, is essential for the pathogenicity of V. dahliae. 相似文献
