Identification of storage-protein messenger RNA of the fleshfly Sarcophaga peregrina. 总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
Storage-protein mRNA was found to be abundant in poly(A)-containing RNA extracted from the fat-body of third-instar larvae of Sarcophaga peregrina (fleshfly). This RNA sedimented at the position of 19S on sucrose-density-gradient centrifugation and the product of its translation in vitro was 75K protein (protein of mol.wt. 75 000), which was precipitated specifically with antibody against storage protein. This product was suggested to contain a signal sequence that is missing in mature storage protein. The poly(A)-containing RNA was also found to contain much of another mRNA coding for 25K protein (protein of mol.wt. 25 000), but the function of this protein is unknown. 相似文献

Recombinant human leukocyte interferon synthesized by Escherichia coli possesses antiproliferative activity in addition to antiviral activity. The nail was extracted with heated ethanol, and the extract was analyzed with and without trimethylsilylation. Two isopropylidene acetals in which the reducing D-glucose residue had the furanoid form were obtained from laminarabiose, and two, in which the reducing D-glucose residue formed the acyclic dimethyl acetal, from cellobiose. The physiochemical properties of pyocin F1 were studied. Pyocin F1 consists of flexuous rod-like particles homogenous in size. Each particle was composed of rod and fiber parts. The rod part was 105.5 +/- 9.5 nm long and 10.0 +/- 1.4 nm wide, and showed regular striations amounting to 23 layers. The fiber part was composed of several filaments; the length of the longest filament was 43.0 +/- 12.0 nm. The amino acid composition, the partial specific volume (0.720 ml/g), the sedimentation coefficient (S020,W = 35.1S), and the translational diffusion constant (0.94 +/- 0.01 x 10(-7) cm2/s) were determined. A synaptosomal plasma membrane fraction and its junctional and nonjunctional subfractions were isolated and analyzed for glycoprotein galactosyltransferase activity. The nonjunctional components fraction had the highest specific activity in the presence of exogenous acceptor, suggesting an enrichment of enzyme in this fraction.
