Transmembrane potentials at the cell membrane and mitochondrial membranes of rat thymocytes at the early stage of developing a stress reaction using potential-sensitive fluorescent probes]

4-(p-dimethylaminostyryl)-1-methylpyridinium (DSM) and 3,3-dipropyl-2,2'-thiodicarbocyanin(diS-C3-(5] were used in the investigation of cytoplasmic and mitochondrial transmembrane potentials at an early stage of the stress reaction of rats. It was shown that 60 minutes after the beginning of the stress action the mitochondrial transmembrane potential was substantially decreased. The transmembrane potential of the cytoplasmic membrane did not change. It may be deduced from the obtained data that the morphological changes of the thymus induced by the strong stress impact are preceded by a change of the mitochondria functional state manifesting itself by a decrease of the mitochondrial membrane potential.     

Quantitative determination of the soluble antigens of intestinal bacteria using a method of immunoenzyme analysis. I. Processing of the parameters of the method

The parameters of the assay based on the quantitative evaluation of the neutralization of specific antibodies by the antigen under study and the subsequent detection of free antibodies on the fixed reference antigen with the aim of the quantitative determination of the specific O-antigens of Salmonella, groups D, B, C1, as well as those of Shigella sonnei and Shigella flexneri, have been developed. The proposed method makes it possible to detect the O-antigen of the causative agent at concentrations of 0.001 micrograms/ml to 100 micrograms/ml.     

Creation of a clone panel of fox x Chinese hamster somatic cell hybrids and chromosome mapping of genes for LDHA, LDHB, GPI, ESD, G6PD, HPRT, alpha-GALA in the silver fox

A clone panel of fox-hamster somatic cell hybrids which can be used for fox gene mapping was set up. Analysis of patterns of chromosome-enzyme segregation made it possible to assign gene GPI to chromosome 1, LDHA to chromosome 11, LDHB to chromosome 8, ESD to chromosome 6 and G6PD, HPRT, alpha-GALA to chromosome X.
