The purpose of this study was to examine the acute effects of maximal concentric vs. eccentric exercise on the isometric strength of the elbow flexor, as well as the biceps brachii muscle electromyographic (EMG) responses in resistance-trained (RT) vs. untrained (UT) men. Thirteen RT men (age: 24 ± 4 years; height: 180.2 ± 7.7 cm; body weight: 92.2 ± 16.9 kg) and twelve UT men (age: 23 ± 4 years; height: 179.2 ± 5.0 cm; body weight: 81.5 ± 8.6 kg) performed six sets of ten maximal concentric isokinetic (CON) or eccentric isokinetic (ECC) elbow flexion exercise in two separate visits. Before and after the exercise interventions, maximal voluntary contractions (MVCs) were performed for testing isometric strength. In addition, bipolar surface EMG signals were detected from the biceps brachii muscle during the strength testing. Both CON and ECC caused isometric strength to decrease, regardless of the training status. However, ECC caused greater isometric strength decline than CON did for the UT group (p = 0.006), but not for the RT group. Both EMG amplitude and mean frequency significantly decreased and increased, respectively, regardless of the training status and exercise intervention. Resistance-trained men are less susceptible to eccentric exercise-induced muscle damage, but this advantage is not likely linked to the chronic resistance training-induced neural adaptations.  相似文献

The effect of unithiol and acetylcysteine on lipid peroxidation, thioldisulfide equilibrium, glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase, glutathione reductase and lactate dehydrogenase activity and on erythrocyte resistance was studied in guinea-pigs during sensitization with C. maltosa. Sensibilized animals receiving thiol antioxidants showed partial restoration of normal biochemical levels.  相似文献

Remote effects in laboratory animals living in conditions of exposure to a mixture of external and internal radiation resulted from the Chernobyl A.P.S. disaster have been investigated. It has been found that the rate of deaths from non-tumor illnesses grows, the incidence of neoplasms increases and their latency time decreases. The redistribution within the spectrum of benign and malignant tumors and the increase in the multiplicity coefficient have been revealed. It is concluded that chronic exposure of animals to low-level radiation from the radionuclides, resulted from the accident, brings about a much larger number of negative stochastic and nonstochastic remote effects as compared to those expected from the extrapolation of the effects produced by high radiation doses.  相似文献

The freshwater ultraoligotrophic Lake Labynkyr is located near the Pole of Cold in the northern hemisphere (Yakutia, Russia). The lake is covered by ice during 240 days a year. We undertook several expeditions to the lake during the ice and open water periods for sampling ice fouling, plankton and periphyton that were then analyzed by means of scanning electron microscopy. As a result, we identified a high biodiversity of diatoms—123 species and intraspecific taxa from 53 genera, among them 3 species were new for Russia and 26 taxa were new for the algal flora of Yakutia. The oligo- and xenosaprobionts and their variations dominate—71 taxa. 18 Species were evaluated as tolerant to cold oligotrophic waters, 12 occurred on the ice bottom, and 62 in the water column under ice (0–25 m). 104 taxa were found during the open water period, 70 taxa were identified in the periphyton. We showed the diatom flora of Lake Labynkyr to be unique compared with other lakes of Yakutia and to share taxa with the diatom flora of Lake Baikal. The diatoms being indicators of the global climate changes and ecological status of lakes, our data can be used as an evidence of such changes as well as to be useful studies of biogeography and history of formation of flora in Arctic and Subarctic waters.

The products of transglycosylation formed as a result of action of beta-xylosidase from Aspergillus niger 15 on p-nitrophenyl-beta-D-glucopyranoside and p-nitrophenyl-beta-D-xylopyranoside were studied by means of chromatography on sephadexes. They are formed at the substrate concentration of 10--100 mM with the amount 7--10 times less than that of hydrolysis products. Peculiarities of chromatography of substrates, products of transglycosylation and p-nitrophenol on Sephadexes G-15 and G-25 were analysed.  相似文献

The nucleotide sequences of three DNA fragments (total size 30574 bp) of the plasmid p19 from the Bacillus subtilis 19 soil strain have been determined. Thirty open reading frames (ORFs) have been identified in these fragments. oriT of the plasmid has also been identified. As shown by the search for homologs of hypothetical protein products of these ORFs in databases, such homology exists for 18 ORFs. The protein products of nine ORFs can be assumed to have specific functions. Several ORFs were inactivated via insertional mutagenesis, and the conjugation capacity of the mutant plasmids was estimated. According to the data on homology of protein products and the results of ORF inactivation, regions of a total size of about 20 kb from the DNA fragments sequenced by us were inferred to belong to the tra region of p19. As follows from the analysis of the identified ORFs of the p19 tra region, it differs from the earlier described tra regions of other plasmids, irrespective of a certain similarity with the corresponding regions of plasmids of gram-positive bacteria from the genera Bacillus, Clostridium, and Listeria.  相似文献

Results are presented from investigations of the possibility of heating a hydrogen plasma at the fundamental harmonic of the ion cyclotron frequency in the T-11M tokamak. The fluxes of charge-exchange atoms that escape from the plasma in the radial direction and across the toroidal magnetic field (transverse neutrals) were recorded by a Lakmus neutral particle analyzer. Measurements by the analyzer show that, during an RF pulse, the ion temperature increases by approximately 50–100 eV. Such plasma parameters as the ion temperature, rotation velocity, and isotopic composition were measured by a high-resolution spectrometer. According to the data from high-resolution spectroscopy, the ion temperature increases by approximately 150 eV. Results from numerical simulations of the ion cyclotron resonance heating of a hydrogen plasma in the T-11M tokamak are also given.  相似文献

A highly purified TUL4-CBD chimeric protein was obtained by one stage purification method. TUL4-CBD protein consists of TUL4 Francisella tularensis mature peptide sequence, Gly-Ser spacer and cellulose binding domain (CBD) of Anaerocellum thermophilum. The TUL4-CBD protein was shown to induce production of specific antibodies to TUL4 protein in laboratory animals.  相似文献
