This review presents data on diversity, prevalence, and distribution of protistan and metazoan parasites in non‐native populations of the rotan Perccottus glenii. The information was collected using peer reviewed journals, difficult to access grey literature, and original data of the authors. As a whole, 70 literature sources from 1971 to 2012 were analyzed. The data originate from five of the 17 countries already colonized by P. glenii. A total of 97 parasite species/taxa are listed, each with the location in/on the host, geographical localities, countries, and literature sources. Where available, the number of fish examined as well as the prevalence and range of infection intensity are cited from the respective sources. Attention is given to host‐specific parasites because the rotan is a vector of their new geographical distribution. The current state and perspectives for further research are discussed. 相似文献

In the cluster of genes for sucrose biosynthesis and cleavage in Methylomicrobium alcaliphilum 20Z, a gene whose encoded sequence showed high similarity to sugar kinases of the ribokinase family was found. By heterologous
expression of this gene in Escherichia coli cells and following metal chelate affinity chromatography, the electrophoretically homogenous recombinant enzyme with six
histidine residues on the C-end was obtained. The enzyme catalyzes ATP-dependent phosphorylation of fructose into fructose-6-phosphate
but is not active with other sugars as phosphoryl acceptors. The fructokinase of M. alcaliphilum 20Z is most active in the presence of Mn2+ at pH 9.0 and 60°C, being inhibited by ADP (K
i = 2.50 ± 0.03 mM). The apparent K
m values for fructose and ATP are 0.26 and 1.3 mM, respectively; the maximal activity is 141 U/mg protein. The enzyme shows
the highest similarity of translated amino acid sequence with putative fructokinases of methylotrophic and autotrophic proteobacteria
whose fruK gene is located in the gene cluster of sucrose biosynthesis. The involvement of fructokinase in sucrose metabolism in M. alcaliphilum 20Z and other methanotrophs and autotrophs is discussed. 相似文献

The aim of the study was to compare the efficacy of metronidazole and ornidazole in the treatment of urogenital trichomoniasis in men. The drugs were used randomly in usual doses as monotherapy: 210 patients, metronidazole and 217 patients, ornidazole. The clinical efficacy of metronidazole and ornidazole was stated in 57.6 and 94.5% of the patients and the microbiological efficacy was stated in 77.1 and 98.2% of the patients respectively. The side effects were recorded in 59.0 and 3.7% of the patients respectively. Thus, ornidazole proved to be a more efficient and safe agent vs. metronidazole in the treatment of urogenital trichomoniasis. 相似文献

The hippocampus is a crucial part of the limbic system involved both in cognitive processing and in the regulation of responses to stress. Adverse experiences early in life can disrupt hippocampal development and lead to impairment of the hypothalamic‐pituitary‐adrenal axis response to subsequent stressors. In our study, two types of early‐life stress were used: prolonged separation of pups from their mothers (for 3 hours/day, maternal separation, MS) and brief separation (for 15 minutes/day, handling, HD). In the first part of our study, we found that adult female mice (F0) who had experienced MS showed reduced locomotor activity and impairment of long‐term spatial and recognition memory. Analysis of various hippocampal regions showed that MS reduced the number of mature neurons in CA3 of females, which is perhaps a crucial hippocampal region for learning and memory; however, neurogenesis remained unchanged. In the second part, we measured maternal care in female mice with a history of early‐life stress (F0) as well as the behavior of their adult offspring (F1). Our results indicated that MS reduced the level of maternal care in adult females (F0) toward their own progeny and caused sex‐specific changes in the social behavior of adult offspring (F1). In contrast to MS, HD had no influence on female behavior or hippocampal plasticity. Overall, our results suggest that prolonged MS early in life affects the adult behavior of F0 female mice and hippocampal neuronal plasticity, whereas the mothers' previous experience has effects on the behavior of their F1 offspring through disturbances of mother‐infant interactions. 相似文献

Aerobic bacteria utilizing methane as the carbon and energy source do not use sugars as growth substrates but possess the gene coding for glucokinase (Glk), an enzyme converting glucose into glucose 6-phosphate. Here we demonstrate the functionality and properties of Glk from an obligate methanotroph Methylomicrobium alcaliphilum 20Z. The recombinant Glk obtained by heterologous expression in Escherichia coli was found to be close in biochemical properties to other prokaryotic Glks. The homodimeric enzyme (2 × 35 kDa) catalyzed ATP-dependent phosphorylation of glucose and glucosamine with nearly equal activity, being inhibited by ADP (K i = 2.34 mM) but not affected by glucose 6-phosphate. Chromosomal deletion of the glk gene resulted in a loss of Glk activity and retardation of growth as well as in a decrease of intracellular glycogen content. Inactivation of the genes encoding sucrose phosphate synthase or amylosucrase, the enzymes involved in glycogen biosynthesis via sucrose as intermediate, did not prevent glycogen accumulation. In silico analysis revealed glk orthologs predominantly in methanotrophs harboring glycogen synthase genes. The data obtained suggested that Glk is implicated in the regulation of glycogen biosynthesis/degradation in an obligate methanotroph. 相似文献

The phylogenetic relationships among gudgeons that represent most nominal taxa within Gobio gobio sensu lato were examined by mitochondrial and nuclear genome sequencing. The molecular analyses confirmed the separate generic status of Gobio as a monophyletic group and revealed 15 Eurasian lineages divided into two main clades, the Northern European and the Ponto-Caspian. The validity of eleven nominal taxa as distinct species was confirmed, gudgeons from the Volga River basin were described as a new species G. volgensis, and three revealed phylogenetic lineages were submitted for a comprehensive revision as "species-in-waiting". The species G. gobio showed a wide range extending from the British Isles to the Black Sea coast and overlapped the areas of several other species. Four pure lineages were detected in the middle Danube River basin. The Crimean Peninsula was found to be a region with the occurrence of individuals of hybrid origin. This region will require special investigation to define species participating in hybridization events, and to establish further steps for the conservation of endemic native gudgeon species. A simple diagnostic method, based on different lengths of the PCR products, called "S7indel diagnostics" is presented for further taxonomic investigations in the genus Gobio. 相似文献

A representative collection was obtained containing 68 monoclonal antibodies (MAB) to Toxoplasma gondii antigens, which was characterized by the binding with the below fractions of tochizoites in the immune-enzyme assay (IEA) and immunoblotting (IB): membrane (MEM), somatic (water-soluble, SOM) and excretory-secretory (ES). Most of MABs were produced to MEM antigens (43), 6 MABs reacted with the somatic fraction, and 3 MABs reacted with both fractions. Two MABs to ES antigen were detected in the latter group. An analysis of MABs in concurrent IEA and IB revealed the immune-dominant proteins of the MEM and SOM fractions of antibodies to T. gondii tochizoites (p30 and p27, respectively). The presence of 2 non-overlapping antigenic determinants was shown for p30. Further research would detect MABs that could be used in the diagnosis of toxoplasmosis. 相似文献
