A personal technique for breast reduction utilizing a circular dermal-breast pedicle is presented. After a cutaneous glandular excision in the inferior pole and glandular excision in a discoid shape under the central area, the pedicle is folded on itself to produce a direct elevation of the nipple-areola complex into its new position, to enhance projection, and to act as a central support. A rational economy of scars is obtained by a central convergence of the breast tissue that stretches the breast periphery and by sutures finishing in the inferoareolar area. There the skin excess is removed to avoid scar lengthening in both the caudal and cranial directions. Evaluation of long-term results reveals maintenance of breast projection, preservation of the inframammary fold to inferior areola distance, and minimal residual scarring.  相似文献

Desmosome-gap (D-G) junctions were quantified in relation to germ cell meiosis in the male, specifically to test the hypothesis that the loss of these junctions is related to successful passage of cells through diplotene phase of Meiosis I and the two cytokineses that follow. Such a hypothesis has been proposed as the cause for the resumption of meiosis that occurs prior to ovulation in the female. D-G junctions were quantified in pachytene spermatocytes (stage XII), diplotene spermatocytes (stage XII), secondary spermatocytes (stage XIV) and step 1 spermatids (stage I). These were referred to as the cells of interest as compared with spermatocytes (zygotene spermatocytes, zygotene spermatocytes, pachytene spermatocytes, pachytene spermatocytes) in the same stages, respectively, that served as controls termed control cells. Since gap junctions are not easily recognized in the average sectioned profile of a desmosome-gap junction, only the desmosomal component was quantified. The data were expressed as both numbers and length of junctions per tubule, per cell profile and per unit lineal membrane length to overcome errors inherent in the methodologies utilized. There was no indication that numbers of junctions changed specifically in the cells of interest after passage through diplotene suggesting that these junctions do not have a comparable role in meiotic continuance in the male as proposed for the female. Interestingly, the control cells always showed greater numbers and length of junctions than the cells of interest suggesting that junction may relate more to the period of initiation of meiosis than to its continuance.  相似文献

The role of imazaquin in the absorption, translocation, and distribution of chlormequat chloride in CYCOCEL* CL has been studied in winter wheat. Three treatments were applied to the 5th leaf of the main stem at growth stage 5 (Feekes Large scale): (1)14C-chlormequat chloride, (2) CYCOCEL* CL containing14C-chlormequat chloride, and (3) CYCOCEL* CL containing14C-imazaquin. Tracing of the radioactivity was followed in the treated leaf, main stem, tillers, and roots. Results showed that more than 85% of the radioactivity absorbed remained in the treated leaf. Ten days after the application of chlormequat chloride alone, 94.4% of the14C-chlormequat was found in the treated leaf, 2.9% in the main stem, 1.2% in the tillers, and 1.4% in the root system versus 88.2, 8.2, 2.1, and 1.4%, respectively, for the chlormequat chloride plus imazaquin treatment. It was concluded that imazaquin increases the mobility and the pattern of distribution of chlormequat chloride in the plant.  相似文献

Some causes of infertility can be prevented, as is the case for infertility of infectious origin. Genital infections represent a major source of infertility. Prostato-epididymitis consecutive to an urinary infection can be prevented by identifying and treating prostatic localizations at an early stage of urinary infection. The prevention of sexually transmitted diseases (STD), which cause male and female infertility, is, at the moment, accomplished by the prevention of the sexual transmission of the HIV. Teenagers represent a target of choice for the educational campaigns promoting condom use. The role of physicians, especially when teenagers are asking for a contraception, must be complementary to the public health campaign to decrease the spread of HIV and other STDs.  相似文献

This study identifies the types and quantities of metals retained by Nereis diversicolor and Scrobicularia plana in a predominantly arid estuary environment.Certain abiotic parameters and a number of physiological processes linked to metabolic and reproductive functions play a decisive role in the seasonal influence of metal levels on the tissues of these organisms.Given the deposivoric diet of the organisms, the sedimentary bed would appear to be the principal source of metal accumulation.The following classification illustrates the bioaccumulation of metals: 209-1The possibility that these metals may be carried into the estuary by sewage water from the cities of Rabat and Sále should certainly not be ignored.  相似文献

Immobilized Mucor miehei lipase catalyzes synthesis reactions between glycerol and oleic acid. No organic solvent is necessary to solubilize the substrates, which allows for the use of a reaction medium solely composed of the necessary substrates. Water produced in the reaction evaporates due to the high temperature used for the process. A conversion of 86% of oleic acid into triolein is obtained when using the substrates in stoichiometric amounts. Varying the ratio of glycerol over oleic acid allows for the preferential synthesis of one of the glycerides. Some batch reactors have been set up using different means of removing the water: spontaneous evaporation, molecular sieves, vacuum, and dry air bubbling.  相似文献

Summary Mannose is incorporated in monkey liver chromatin by the means of a nuclear membrane mannosyl-transferase.14C-labelled chromatin is dissociated either by sulfuric acid or 6 M urea and 0.4 M GuCl. The fractions then enriched in non-histone14C-labelled proteins are excluded from Ultro-gel AcA 202, their analysis in SDS-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis shows that radioactivity fits with one major protein band, confirming the presence of at least a non-histone protein labelled with mannose in monkey liver chromatin, with an apparent molecular weight of 13 000.  相似文献

Summary It was previously shown that nuclei of-sheets surrounded by unordered segments are formed in polypeptide chains built up with alternating hydrophobic and hydrophilic residues and containing both L- and D-enantiomers. It was also established that segments of residues having the same configuration tend to segregate in these nuclei when the starting composition of stereomonomers departs from the racemic mixture.Soft acidic hydrolysis of these polymers has been studied. Kinetic measurements show two pseudo first order rate constants, in agreement with the existence of two conformational species. The unordered part of the chains is hydrolyzed more rapidly, allowing the isolation of a-fraction enriched in one enantiomer. Thus, a plausible process of enrichment in enantiomer during prebiotic evolution has been described, which however does not explain the preference of one enantiomer over the other one.  相似文献

Yersinia enterocolitica andY. enterocolitica-like strains were characterized by DNA relatedness. These strains formed four distinct DNA relatedness groups: (i) the 5 classical biotypes ofY. enterocolitica sensu stricto as designated by Wauters; (ii) strains that are rhamnose positive and also positive in tests for melibiose, α-methyl-d-glucoside, raffinose, and Simmons' citrate; (iii) strains that are rhamnose positive but negative in tests for melibiose, α-methyl-d-glucoside, and raffinose; (iv) sucrose-negative, Voges-Proskauer-negative, trehalose-positive strains.  相似文献
