Background: Parkinson's disease (PD) is a common progressive neurodegenerative and the prevailing treatments are ineffective in the early stages of the disease. Therefore, other strategies must be devised to halt the steady decrease of dopaminergic neurons in the brain. In Parkinson's disease, a dysregulated ACE/Ang II/AT1R axis in the brain causes free radical damage, apoptosis, and neuronal destruction. Current PD treatments only alleviate symptoms and do not reverse the degradation mechanism of dopaminergic neurons. As a result, it is critical to discover alternate, dependable medicines for the treatment of Parkinson's disease. Method : In the present study, homology modelling of MAS receptor, in silico docking and molecular dynamic studies (MDS) were employed to determine the efficacy of flavonoids as MASR activators. Result : The flavonoids Pterosupin and Amentoflavone exhibited best binding and therefore, the stability of these complexes were evaluated with MDS studies. The Pterosupin-MASR complex demonstrated better stability, stronger interactions and minimal fluctuation than the Amentoflavone-MASR complex. Conclusion : The data from the present study indicated that the flavonoid Pterosupin possesses better binding, favourable pharmacokinetic properties and stability. However, subsequent in vitro and in vivo assessments are necessary to validate its efficacy. 相似文献

Plant growth-promoting bacteria (PGPB) expressing 1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylic acid (ACC) deaminase activity are widely acknowledged to have a role in mitigation of abiotic stress caused by extreme environmental conditions. Consequently, several studies have focused on the isolation of ACC deaminase positive PGPBs. However, the application of such strains in drought-prone arid regions has remained grossly under-exploited. In order to be used in arid agroecosystems, PGPBs need to have the dual capability: to express ACC deaminase and to have the ability to tolerate increased temperature and salt concentration. Conspicuously, to date, very few studies have reported about isolation and characterization of PGPBs with this kind of dual capability. Here we report the isolation of bacterial strains from rhizosphere(s) of Cyamopsis tetragonoloba, a commercial crop from arid regions of Rajasthan, India, and their characterization for ACC deaminase activity and thermohalotolerance. Isolates found positive for desired traits were subsequently assessed for plant growth promotion under simulated drought conditions. Our finding showed that although the bacterial diversity within the rhizosphere of C. tetragonoloba grown in the arid region is quite poor, multiple isolates are ACC deaminase positive. Four isolates were found to be ACC deaminase positive, thermohalotolerant, and successfully enhanced drought tolerance. These isolates were identified as strains belonging to genera Pseudomonas, Enterobacter, and Stenotrophomonas based on 16S rRNA sequence homology. 相似文献

This study investigated sphincter-body differences in neuronal density and morphometry between the esophageal sphincter and body with a view to determining whether previously reported differences are authentic. The anatomical limits of the opossum lower esophageal sphincter were correlated with its physiological behavior by manometric demarcation. Following this, peeled whole mounts and paraffin and cryosections were used to study the morphology and morphometry of the esophageal myenteric plexus. Thirty animals were used and seven quantitated. The plexus of the esophageal body was located as usual in a plane between the longitudinal and circular muscle, which coincided with the plane of cleavage when these muscle layers were peeled apart for studying the plexus in whole mounts. In contrast, the plexus was located in several planes in the lower esophageal sphincter, which had no cleavage plane. Therefore, peeling the sphincter removes neurons and yields falsely low counts, making peel preparations of this region unsuitable for neuronal quantitation. In paraffin sections, the neuron density in the esophageal body 7 cm above the sphincter was 6,353 +/- 850/cm2, but decreased significantly to 2,254 +/- 353/cm2 at the 1-cm segment. In the lower esophageal sphincter, the neuronal count increased again to 8,530 +/- 1,606/cm2. Flash-frozen cryosections, which produced neuronal morphology similar to the in vivo condition, showed that there was no difference in neuronal size between esophageal body and sphincter. These studies show that atypical myenteric plexus localization causes spuriously low neuronal counts reported in the lower esophageal sphincter and that reported neuronal size differences are technique-dependent. 相似文献

The experimental data on the absorption of a plane polarised light by a solution of cattle rhodopsin at −196‡ C have been
theoretically analysed to model the directional absorption properties of rhodopsin and its photoproducts. It is seen that
these molecules behave like planar absorbers having a ratio of about 100∶7 between the extinction coefficients along the long
axis and perpendicular to it. Using this result and the experimental observations on absorption and dichroism in the retina
in situ, a model for the configuration of chromophores in the disc membranes has been derived. In this model the plane of
the chromophore is perpendicular to that of the disc and the long axis of the chromophore makes an angle of 6.6‡ with the
plane of the disc. The solution of the problem depends on the assumption that the absorption axes are the same for the rhodopsin,
prelumirhodopsin and isorhodopsin.

Notch receptor regulates differentiation of almost all tissues and organs during animal development. Many mechanisms function at the protein level to finely regulate Notch activity. Here we provide evidence for Notch regulation at an earlier step - mRNA 3′ processing. Processing at the Notch consensus polyadenylation site appears by default to be suppressed in Drosophila embryos. Interference with this suppression, by a mutation, results in increased levels of polyadenylated Notch mRNA, excess Notch signaling, and severe developmental defects. We propose that Notch mRNA 3′ processing is negatively regulated to limit the production of Notch protein and render it a controlling factor in the generation of Notch signaling. 相似文献

A simple method for concentration and detection of rotavirus and enteroviruses in the blue crab is described. Virus was separated from tissue homogenates at pH 9.5, concentrated by adsorption to protein precipitates at pH 3.5, and recovered by elution of precipitates at pH 9.2. Test samples of 12 to 15 ml were produced from an initial 100 g of crab tissues. Cat-floc precipitation was used to remove sample toxicity for cell cultures. Recovery effectiveness averaged 52% with poliovirus 1, echovirus 7, and coxsackievirus B5 and 23% with rotavirus SA11. 相似文献

In nutraceutical science, the ingestible live microbes ‘probiotics’ are regarded for their ability to confer multiplicity of health benefits on the consumers. Wide spectrum impact of these friendly microbes on the host health has been proved very frequently. They have been confirmed to boost immunity, aid in digestion, eliminate pathogens, curb inflammatory bowel diseases, moderate side effects of antibiotic therapy, lower cholesterol and blood glycemic index and produce vitamins. This review, however, focuses on the incipient, but promising area of probiotic diet-based prevention and remedy of cancer. Researchers are in universal agreement with the critical role of probiotics in getting rid of mutagens, delaying the onset of tumors, alleviating the side effects, pepping up chemotherapy, easing the postoperative complications, foiling remission and lifting the spirit of survivors. The key findings in the emerging roles of probiotics in onco-care have been summarized; the biological pathways discussed and anticipated developments in coming times are presented. 相似文献
