A dc plane glow discharge in a nitrogen-hydrogen (N2-H2) gas mixture has been operated at discharge currents of 10 and 20 mA. The electron energy distribution function (EEDF) at different hydrogen concentrations is measured. A Maxwellian EEDF is found in the positive column region, while in both cathode fall and negative glow regions, a non-Maxwellian one is observed. Langmuir electric probes are used at different axial positions, gas pressures, and hydrogen concentrations to measure the electron temperature and plasma density. The electron temperature is found to increase with increasing H2 concentration and decrease with increasing both the axial distance from the cathode and the mixture pressure. At first, with increasing distance from the cathode, the ion density decreases, while the electron density increases; then, as the anode is further approached, they remain nearly constant. At different H2 concentrations, the electron and ion densities decrease with increasing the mixture pressure. Both the electron and ion densities slightly decrease with increasing H2 concentration.  相似文献

Four major areas of the urogenital system of Echinopardalis atrata are examined: (1) capsular protonephridial system, (2) uterine bell complex, (3) uterus, (4) vagina. Photomicrographs of cross sections from wax preparations depict morphological changes along the length of this system. Diagrammatic illustrations show relationships between excretory ducts and oviducts in the uterine bell complex. Relative positions of dorsal and ventral ligament accessory cells, median wall cells, and sheathing syncytium are also shown in this complex. The common oviduct and excretory canal join to form a ciliated urogenital canal that empties into the lumen of the uterus along the latter's anterior mid-dorsal surface. The excretory bladder is located on the inside mid-dorsal surface of the bell wall and is serviced by 2 nephridial canals--1 from each of 2 capsular protonephridia. The vagina affixes the posterior terminus of the uterus to the tegument and consists of an internal and external sphincter surrounding a hypodermal lining.  相似文献

Acetaminophen, an analgesic and antipyretic, is toxic in overdose to liver and kidney. The effects on mitochondrial respiration of acetaminophen, its less toxic analog, 3-hydroxyacetanilide, and metabolites which arise from these compounds have been investigated. The parent compounds inhibited NADH-linked respiration reversibly, whereas the metabolites inhibit all mitochondrial respiration, apparently in the Complex III region of the respiratory chain. The quinone derivatives, 4-acetamido-o-benzoquinone and 2-acetamido-p-benzoquinone, are the best inhibitors, with the onset of inhibition dependent on active respiration, suggesting interaction of these compounds with oxidized components of the electron transport chain.  相似文献

3-Deoxy-4-O-β-D-galactopyranosyl-D-erythro-hexos-2-ulose (1) was obtained from lactose by reaction with benzoylhydrazine in the presence of a slightly acidic solution of p-toluidine, followed by hydrazinolysis of the product, 3-deoxy-4-O-β-D-galactopyranosyl-D-erythro-hexos-2-ulose bis(benzoylhydrazone) (3), with benzaldehyde. A variety of derivatives of 1 and 3 was prepared. Lactose aroylhydrazones were also prepared. Quantitative determination of the oxidant during the periodate oxidation of 3 was studied. Periodate oxidation of monosaccharide arylhydrazones gave glyoxal mono(arylhydrazones) which afforded the corresponding, mixed bis(hydrazones).  相似文献

An homogenate from cortical tissue of mare adrenals was incubated in the presence of tritiated pregnenolone. The (3H) androstenedione and the (3H) testosterone synthesized during the incubation were extracted, purified, and co-crystallized to constant specific activity in the presence of unlabeled carriers. The rate of conversion of pregnenolone to androstenedione and testosterone was of the order of 5 and 0.15 per cent respectively. The high ratio of (3H) androstenedione to (3H) testosterone observed in this study suggests that androstenedione is the main androgen produced by mare adrenals. It is concluded that adrenals could contribute to the production of blood androgens in normal as well as hyperandrogenic mares.  相似文献
