Visible oscillating chemiluminescence (CL) of luminol–H2O2–KSCN–CuSO4 was studied using the organic base (2‐hydroxyethyl)trimethylammonium hydroxide. The effect of concentrations of luminol, H2O2, KSCN, CuSO4 and the base were investigated in a batch reactor. This report shows how the concentration of components involved in the oscillating CL system influenced the oscillation period, light amplitude and total time of light emission. The oscillating CL with different bases was also investigated. Results indicated that using 2‐HETMAOH causes regular oscillating CL with nearly the same oscillating period. Background:Retinoic acid (RA) plays a key role in naïve T cell differentiation into FOXP3+ Treg cell in the respiratory airways. The present study aims to investigate RA and Treg-related cytokine serum levels, salivary IgA levels, FOXP3 and IL-4 gene expression, and the relationships between RA serum levels and Treg-related cytokines in allergic rhinitis (AR) patients and healthy controls.Methods:Salivary IgA and serum IgE, RA, IL-10, and TGF-β concentrations were measured by ELISA in 37 AR patients and 30 age- and sex-matched healthy controls.Results:IL-10 and TGF-β concentrations were significantly less in AR patients than in healthy controls (p< 0.01 and P< 0.0001, respectively). Salivary IgA was significantly greater in patients than in controls (p< 0.05). RA was not significantly different between patients and controls (p> 0.05); however, a significant positive correlation was found between serum RA and both IL-10 and TGF-β in AR patients.Conclusion:Our data suggest that RA may influence AR risk via affecting the TGF-β and IL-10 production.Key Words: Allergic Rhinitis, Interleukin-10, Obesity, Retinoic Acid, Transforming Growth Factor-β 相似文献

Background
Finasteride is a competitive inhibitor of 5 alpha-reductase enzyme, and is used for treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia and androgenetic alopecia. Animal studies have shown that finasteride might induce behavioral changes. Additionally, some cases of finasteride-induced depression have been reported in humans. Presence of all three ParaHox genes has been described in deuterostomes and lophotrochozoans, but to date one of these three genes, Xlox has not been reported from any ecdysozoan taxa and both Xlox and Gsx are absent in nematodes. There is evidence that the ParaHox genes were ancestrally a single chromosomal cluster. Colinear expression of the ParaHox genes in anterior, middle, and posterior tissues of several species studied so far suggest that these genes may be responsible for axial patterning of the digestive tract. Nickel, a phytotoxic metal, is easily taken up by plant roots. Excessive Ni in soil can induce programmed cell death in root tips. DNA fragmentation was assessed by deoxyuracyl nick end labeling with fluorescein mediated by terminal deoxynucleotide transferase (TUNEL). In control roots, programmed cell death was observed by using TUNEL assay in the root cap and xylem vessels. At moderate Ni2+ concentrations (10–25 µM), cortical cells also showed TUNEL-positive reaction, indicating the Ni-induced cell death. The Ni-induced cell death differs from natural cell death in the appearance of spherical bodies of condensed chromatin and formation of apoptotic bodies.
