In recent years, the concept of nutrition in patients with tumour diseases has been changing very significantly. The article discusses the pathogenesis of tumour cachexia and sarcopenia, which have been intensively studied, particularly in the last ten years. The possibilities and modern approaches in nutritional support in oncology are reviewed with a special emphasis on the group of elderly patients. Also, a detailed list of the most frequently used pharmaconutrients in oncology is presented. The recommendations for nutritional care of elderly oncological patients are given and discussed. 相似文献

The biotransformation course of S-(–)-limonene by Solanum aviculare and Dioscorea deltoidea plant cells was studied using 5 different immobilization methods (entrapment into alginate, carrageenan and pectate gels, binding to polyphenyleneoxide and permeation into polyurethane foam). All techniques, with exception of permeation into pre-formed matrix, affected the product ratio. The main products were cis- and trans-carveol and carvone. 相似文献

Injections of large amounts (around 20 μg) of ecdysterone and of Cecropia C17-juvenile hormone or its bio-analogue 6,7-epoxygeranyl 3,4-methylendioxyphenyl ether into a pupa of Tenebrio molitor may inhibit the apolysis and cuticle secretion. Some of the treated insects secrete a new cuticle only locally, others do not even undergo apolysis although they survive until the controls ecdyse as adults. The development of internal organs is also hindered. These results are tentatively explained in terms of a mutually antagonistic action of the two hormones on nucleic acid synthesis. 相似文献

The functional relationship between the two subcellular compartments involved in catabolism of triglycerides, i.e. lysosomes and lipid-containing cytoplasmic vacuoles, has been investigated using cultured fibroblasts from patients affected with two different genetic lipid (triacylglycerol) storage disorders: Wolman disease and multisystemic lipid storage myopathy. As shown by metabolic studies in intact cultured cells, lysosomal degradation of exogenous labelled triacylglycerols (incorporated into lipoproteins and internalized via the apo B/E receptor pathway) was blocked in Wolman cells, whereas catabolism of endogenously biosynthesized triacylglycerols was in the normal range. In contrast, in fibroblasts from multisystemic lipid storage myopathy, the degradation of endogenous triacylglycerols was blocked, whereas that of exogenous triacylglycerols (i.e. from lipoproteins) was normal. This comparative study demonstrates that the lysosomal and cytoplasmic compartments are functionally independent. Enzymatic studies allows one to discriminate clearly between 3 lipases and 2 carboxylesterases the role of which is discussed. 相似文献

The elongation of primary roots of pedunculated oak (Quercus robur L.), which is associated with nutation oscillations, was registered by a time lapse cinematography. The following characteristics were expressed graphically: relative growth rate [mm h-1], frequency [rev. h-1] and amplitudes [mm] of nutation oscillations, their direction and location of nutation curvatures. The growth-oscillation mechanism is interpreted as a part of the geocontrol system of the root and was evaluated on the basis of its physiological efficiency. Comparison of nutation periods showed that the control system of pedunculated oak is three times more and two times less efficient than that of pea and maize, respectively. Comparison of the oscillation amplitudes of growing roots gives similar results. 相似文献
