Summary The composition of the root exudates of barley and wheat in the initial growth phases was investigated; amino acids, organic acids, sugars and certain aromatic compounds could be identified. A knowledge of the composition of root exudates is important from the standpoint of the interaction between the plants and the micro-organisms in the rhizosphere. Some aspects of the rhizosphere effect connected with the present work are discussed.  相似文献

Summary A study of enzymatic equipment of enterochromaffine cells (e.c.) in jenual biopsies obtained with a Crosby capsule in normal humans and patients with nontropical sprue was undertaken. The following enzymes were demonstrated: alkaline phosphatase and adenosine triphosphatase (cell membrane), acid phosphatase (corpuscular), non-specific esterase (diffuse and corpuscular, predominantly eserine resistant, in corpuscular localization E 600 resistant), DPN- and TPN-diaphorases and dehydrogenases of lactic acid, malic acid, isocitric acid, glucoso-6-phosphoric acid, succinic acid, -hydroxybutyric acid and -glycerophosphoric acid. Enzyme activities were not equal in all cells suggesting some type of secretory cycle. In most patients with untreated nontropical sprue or with the disease in relapse e.c. were more numerous and hypertrophic with elevated activities of non-specific esterase and acid phosphatase. Summary Lambertz (1954) did not mention Gramineae as plants containing ectodesmata, although he stated that ectodesmata are not bound to special groups of angiosperms but should occur in all families of angiosperms. Schnepe (1959) expressly pointed out that he never succeeded in demonstrating such structures in leaves of Gramineae with his method. In our studies, however, ectodesmata could be shown in leaves of wheat and maize if the fixation mixture contained nitric acid. As in other objects, including species of gymnosperms and pteridophytes, the same distribution of ectodesmata could be observed which was characterized by the formation of rows along the anticlinal walls, crowding in guard-cells and seattering in periclincal walls.  相似文献

The relationship of different soya meal components to gibberellin (GA) production was studied. Fluorometric assay confirmed that under the given fermentation conditions, only gibberellic acid (GA3) was synthesized on medium containing corn steep. On substituting soya flour for corn steep, the same amount of GA3 was produced and in addition gibberellin A (GA1) was formed. The GA3: GA1 ratio was 1∶1. The course of fermentation in media containing the soya meal protein fraction (fraction I), the soya meal amino acid complex, the corn steep amino acid complex and individual amino acids (γ-aminobutyric acid or tryptophane) was the same as in the control medium containing soya meal. The soya meal fraction II, which is characterized by a high cellulose and carbohydrate content, raised GA production by 25% as compared with production in medium containling soya meal; it simultaneously stimulated GA3 production, so that the final GA3: GA1 ratio was 4∶1.  相似文献
