Chickpea is one of the most important leguminous cool season food crops, cultivated prevalently in South Asia and Middle East. The main objective of this study was to identify quantitative trait loci (QTLs) associated with seven agronomic and yield traits in two recombinant inbred line populations of chickpea derived from the crosses JG62 × Vijay (JV population) and Vijay × ICC4958 (VI population) from at least three environments. Single locus QTL analysis involved composite interval mapping (CIM) for individual traits and multiple-trait composite interval mapping (MCIM) for correlated traits to detect pleiotropic QTLs. Two-locus analysis was conducted to identify the main effect QTLs (M-QTLs), epistatic QTLs (E-QTLs) and QTL × environment interactions. Through CIM analysis, a total of 106 significant QTLs (41 in JV and 65 in VI populations) were identified for the seven traits, of which one QTL each for plant height and days to maturity was common in both the populations. Six pleiotropic QTLs that were consistent over the environments were also identified. LG2 in JV and LG1a in VI contained at least one QTL for each trait. Hence, concentrating on these LGs in molecular breeding programs is most likely to bring simultaneous improvement in these traits.  相似文献

OBJECTIVE: To compare cervicovaginal smears obtained by a cotton-tipped swab with those obtained by cervix brush and modified Ayre spatula. STUDY DESIGN: A combined cervicovaginal smear was collected from 100 women using 3 different collection devices: cotton-tipped swab, cervix brush, and modified Ayre spatula. In each patient a set of 3 smears was collected by the same cytotechnologist using all 3 devices in random order. Smears were evaluated using parameters mandatory for an optimal smear: evenly dispersed, well-preserved, adequate cells from the transformation zone. The cost and availability of the collection devices were also considered. RESULTS: The swab was the most effective device in obtaining thin, evenly spread, adequate, well-preserved smears as against the cervix brush and Ayre spatula. The pickup of abnormal cells was similar with the cotton-tipped swab and cervix brush, while the Ayre spatula failed to yield high grade squamous intraepithelial lesions, atypical glandular cells of undetermined significance and adenocarcinoma cells. The cotton-tipped swab proved to be the most cost effective. CONCLUSION: A properly prepared cotton-tipped swab is an inexpensive, readily available, nontraumatic collection device that yields smear of optimal quality.  相似文献

The mTOR (mammalian or mechanistic Target of Rapamycin) is linked with oral cancer. Therefore, it is of interest to study the molecular docking-based binding of paclitaxel (a FDA approved drug for oral cancer) and its analogues with mTOR. Hence, we report the binding features of 10-Deacetyltaxol, 7-Epi-10-deacetyltaxol, 7-Epi-Taxol and 6alpha-Hydroxypaclitaxel with mTOR for further consideration.  相似文献

We previously showed that activation of the small GTPase Cdc42 promotes breast cell migration on a collagen matrix. Here we further define the signaling pathways that drive this response and show that Cdc42-mediated migration relies on the adaptor molecule p130(Cas). Activated Cdc42 enhanced p130(Cas) phosphorylation and its binding to Crk. Cdc42-driven migration and p130(Cas) phosphorylation were dependent on the Cdc42 effector Ack1 (activated Cdc42-associated kinase). Ack1 formed a signaling complex that also included Cdc42, p130(Cas), and Crk, formation of which was regulated by collagen stimulation. The interaction between Ack1 and p130(Cas) occurred through their respective SH3 domains, while the substrate domain of p130(Cas) was the major site of Ack1-dependent phosphorylation. Signaling through this complex is functionally relevant, because treatment with either p130(Cas) or Ack1 siRNA blocked Cdc42-induced migration. These results suggest that Cdc42 exerts its effects on cell migration in part through its effector Ack1, which regulates p130(Cas) signaling.  相似文献

? The ability of plants to adapt to multiple stresses imposed by the natural environment requires cross-talk and fine-tuning of stress signalling pathways. The hybrid histidine kinase Arabidopsis histidine kinase 5 (AHK5) is known to mediate stomatal responses to exogenous and endogenous signals in Arabidopsis thaliana. The purpose of this study was to determine whether the function of AHK5 in stress signalling extends beyond stomatal responses. ? Plant growth responses to abiotic stresses, tissue susceptibility to bacterial and fungal pathogens, and hormone production and metabolism of reactive oxygen species were monitored in a T-DNA insertion mutant of AHK5. ? The findings of this study indicate that AHK5 positively regulates salt sensitivity and contributes to resistance to the bacterium Pseudomonas syringae pv. tomato DC3000 and the fungal pathogen Botrytis cinerea. ? This is the first report of a role for AHK5 in the regulation of survival following challenge by a hemi-biotrophic bacterium and a necrotrophic fungus, as well as in the growth response to salt stress. The function of AHK5 in regulating the production of hormones and redox homeostasis is discussed.  相似文献
