Triton X－100对紫膜蛋白的效应

本文采用同步辐射小角Ｘ射线散射方法研究了用非离子表面活性剂ＴｒｉｔｏｎＸ—１００处理后的嗜盐菌紫膜及其视紫红质蛋白结构的变化。实验结果表明,用不同浓度的ＴｒｉｔｏｎＸ—１００处理紫膜碎片时,紫膜及其蛋白所处的状态有着很大变化。     

宜昌大老岭种子植物区系研究

大老岭有野生种子植物１２２科４３５属８５６种。对本区科、属和种进行了统计与分析,结果表明,该地区的植物区系性质明显是温带性,且以北温带成分为主,地理成分复杂,仅属就有１３个分布区类型和１７个变型,地理联系广泛,具有古老性强和特有现象不很突出的特点。     

An autoclavable glucose biosensor for microbial fermentation monitoring and control

The design, construction, and characterization of a prototype-regenerable glucose biosensor based on the reversible immobilization of glucose oxidase (GOx) using cellulose binding domain (CBD) technology is described. GOx, chemically linked to CBD, is immobilized by binding to a cellulose matrix on the sensor-indicating electode. Enzyme immobilization can be reversed by perfusing the cellulose matrix with a suitable eluting solution. An autocavable sensor membrane system is employed which is shown to be practical for use in real microbial fermentations. The prototype glucose biosensor was used without failure or deterioration during fed-batch fermentations of Escherichia coli reaching a maximum cell density of 85 g (dry weight)/L. Medium glucose concentration based on sensor output correlated closely with off-line glucose analysis and was controlled manually at 0.44 +/- 0.2 g/L for 2 h based on glucose sensor output. The sensor enzyme component could be eluted and replaced without interrupting the fermentation. To our knowledge, no other in situ biosensor has been used for such an extended period of time in such a high-cell-density fermentation. (c) 1995 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.

Control of galactosyl diglycerides in wheat endosperm by group 5 chromosomes

Lower levels of monogalactosyl diglyceride (MGDG) and digalactosyl diglyceride (DGDG) have been found in tetraploid wheats as compared with those in hexaploid wheats. The same difference has been found between hexaploid cultivars and tetraploid lines derived from them by D genome extraction. A lower level of MGDG and DGDG is also present in Triticum carthlicum (AABB) as compared with Aegilops squarrosa (DD) or with the synthetic T. spelta (AABBDD) obtained from them. Analysis of the appropriate nullitetrasomic and ditelosomic lines indicates that a gene or genes located in the short arm of chromosome 5D are responsible for the observed difference and that group 5 chromosomes can be ranked as to their influence on the MGDG and DGDG levels in the order 5B > 5D > 5A and 5D > 5B > 5A, respectively. These results further support our previous identification of DGDG as the lipid factor responsible for petroleum ether solubility of lipopurothionins. Since DGDG contributes to baking quality by improving the retention of fermentation gases, the present observations imply that the difference in bread-making quality between the two types of wheat is not due only to proteins contributed by the D genome.     

Complex of Virus-Like Particles Containing Double-Stranded RNA from Thielaviopsis basicola

Six randomly selected isolates of Thielaviopsis basicola were found to contain spherical virus-like particles (VLPs) approximately 40 nm in diameter. One isolate, ATCC 34114, selected for further analysis contained a complex of VLPs that sedimented as eight or more bands in sucrose density gradients and contained five size classes of double-stranded RNA. Five discrete precipitation lines were obtained in immunoelectrophoresis, which indicated that this isolate of T. basicola contains five distinct species of VLPs.

广西阳朔漓江河道及其沿岸水生植物群落与环境关系的观察

<正> 漓江两岸水秀山青,是我国著名的风景区,素有“桂林山水甲天下,阳朔山水甲桂林”之称。但是,现今,漓江已遭到严重污染!1979年2月人民日报发出了“救救桂林风景区”的强烈呼吁。笔者近年来多次到漓江,进行了调查访问和对比观察。所见所闻确实使人感到,当年青山翠峦倒映在澄澈碧水中的清秀景色,却为如今江面上浮着串串白色泡沫、江水混浊发黑的景象所代替。漓江鱼的产量至今仅为六十年代的10％,用于江上捕鱼的鸬鹚,或因中毒死亡或因慢性中毒不能繁育,而今很难见到了。就是过去为鱼、猪、牛提供大量饲料和为农田提供大量绿肥的江中水草也大大减少了。更为严重的是,污染已危及沿江两岸居民及牲畜的健康和生存。因此,治理漓江污染的事已迫在眉睫。
