Chili pepper is one of the main crops of economic importance in Mexico, and Fusarium wilting is a disease that limits its production. In addition, the inappropriate use of agrochemicals in farming activities generate environmental and health problems. Therefore, in this study the effectiveness of Streptomyces sp PRIO41 was evaluated as a (1) biocontrol agent of Fusarium spp and (2) plant growth promoter bacteria. Assays of pathogenicity and virulence of Fusarium spp. in jalapeño pepper seeds, and interactions of these pathogens with Streptomyces PRIO41 were evaluated under two nutritional conditions. In the greenhouse, the effectiveness of Streptomyces sp. PRIO41 was determined as a (1) biocontrol of Fusarium, and (2) plant growth promoter of wilt of pepper plants. The results showed that all fungal isolates caused symptoms in pepper seeds and seedlings with different degrees of virulence. Interactions in vitro showed that Streptomyces showed the most effective range of virulence against Fusarium isolates in the poor medium (37.6%-100%), with fungicidal effects in some cases. In the greenhouse, Streptomyces PRIO41 reduced Fusarium wilting up to a 40%, and positively affected all vegetative growth parameters, particularly plant height, leaf area, root length, and leaf and root dry biomasses. This study showed the potential of Streptomyces PRIO41 as a biocontrol agent of Fusarium spp., and as a biofertilizer of pepper plants.  相似文献

Clinical efficacy of rifampicin, a semisynthetic broad spectrum antibiotic was estimated in 247 patients with purulent inflammations. It was shown advisable to use rifampicin intravenously in treatment of severe bronchopulmonary pathology, disorders of the bile excretion system, osteomyelitis, severe wound infections and in prophylaxis of postoperative purulent complications in cardiovascular surgery and other cases. High rifampicin sensitivity of staphylococci and streptococci belonging to various species was revealed. Rifampicin was found to be less active against gramnegative pathogens. The isolation frequency of rifampicin sensitive strains of E. coli, Proteus spp., Klebsiella spp. and P. aeruginosa amounted to 88.4, 52.1, 58.8 and 49.3 per cent respectively.  相似文献

The bimetallic cyclosiloxanolate cluster complexes Na[PhSiO2)6Cu4Ni26-Cl)(PhSiO2)6] (1) and Na[(PhSiO2)6Cu3Ni3(μ6-Cl)(PhSiO2)6] (2) were prepared by Na+ and Ni2+ ion exchange from in situ generated Na2 {[(PhSiO2)6]2Na4Ni4(OH)2}. Complexes 1 and 2 were characterized by analytical, spectroscopic and electrochemical methods as well as complex 2 by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The X-ray structure shows a sandwich-type array comprising two superimposed cyclosiloxanolate rings and an M6Cl unit in between. For the first time the regioselectivity of the metal ion exchange could be deduced from the X-ray structural parameters.  相似文献

Human alpha-fetoprotein (hAFP) is the main human oncofetal protein. Receptor of hAFP is expressed on the surface of different types of cancer cells, but not produced by normal cells of the adult organism. The hAFP interacts with the receptor via its third domain. The conjugates of native hAFP with a variety of natural cytostatic agents inhibit growth of cancer cells in vivo and in vitro. The C-terminal hAFP fragment comprising amino acids from 404 to 595 of the native hAFP was expressed in E. coli BL21 (DE3) strain. The level of the protein expression was no less than 150 mg/l. Highly efficient purification and refolding procedures were developed. The final protein yield was no less than 50% with purity of about 95%. Refolded rAFP3D bound specifically with cancer cells carrying hAFP receptor and was accumulated by them. This rAFP3D can be used as a carrier for the targeted drug delivery to cancer cells.  相似文献

The effect of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) on the dynamics of laccase production by the fungus Pleurotus ostreatus D1 under conditions of submerged cultivation on Kirk's medium has been studied. It has been shown that phenanthrene, fluoranthene, pyrene, and chrysene actively induce this enzyme, whereas fluorene and anthrecene had a smaller effect. Addition of Mn2+ ions to cultivation medium elevates the laccase activity twofold and more in the presence of all the studied PAHs. Electrophoresis under nondenaturing conditions demonstrates induction of additional laccase species by xenobiotics. Ligninolytic peroxidase activities are undetectable under the conditions used.  相似文献

The orthocladiine Chironomidae genus Stictocladius Edwards was described originally from South America. Although recognised subsequently as present also in Australia and New Zealand, the true diversity in the Neotropics has remained unclear. After more than a decade of collections of both isolated adults and aquatic immature stages, we can recognise several new taxa and associate some immature stages. Thus, we describe Stictocladius prati n. sp. as male, female, pupa and larva; Stictocladius acutus n. sp. and Stictocladius acrilobus n. sp. as male, female and pupa; Stictocladius fimbriatus n. sp. as male and female; Stictocladius fovigus n. sp. and Stictocladius nudiventer n. sp. as male and pupa; and Stictocladius privicalcar n. sp. and Stictocladius prostatus n. sp. each as male imago alone. The male and female of Stictocladius pulchripennis Edwards is redescribed and the pupa described. The male and female of Stictocladius flavozonatus Edwards and the male of Stictocladius calonotum Edwards are described. Five pupal types are described: Stictocladius sp. A (near S. acrilobus), Stictocladius sp. B (possibly S. calonotum), Stictocladius sp. C (near S. calonotum), Stictocladius sp. D (possibly S. flavozonatus) and Stictocladius sp. E with uncertain affinity. A larva from Chile of the Stictocladius ??sofour type?? (Stictocladius sp. F) and an unreared larva from North America (Stictocladius sp. G) possibly belonging to S. acutus are described. Keys to named Neotropical male and female imagines of Stictocladius and to all pupal forms of Neotropical Stictocladius are provided. Some data concerning fourth instars of Stictocladius are presented. Means of differentiation from putative sister taxon Lopescladius are discussed.  相似文献

Aims

Disturbance of mitochondrial function significantly contributes to the myocardial injury that occurs during reperfusion. Increasing evidence suggests a role of intra-mitochondrial cyclic AMP (cAMP) signaling in promoting respiration and ATP synthesis. Mitochondrial levels of cAMP are controlled by type 10 soluble adenylyl cyclase (sAC) and phosphodiesterase 2 (PDE2), however their role in the reperfusion-induced injury remains unknown. Here we aimed to examine whether sAC may support cardiomyocyte survival during reperfusion.

Methods and results

Adult rat cardiomyocytes or rat cardiac H9C2 cells were subjected to metabolic inhibition and recovery as a model of simulated ischemia and reperfusion. Cytosolic Ca2+, pH, mitochondrial cAMP (live-cell imaging), and cell viability were analyzed during a 15-min period of reperfusion. Suppression of sAC activity in cardiomyocytes and H9C2 cells, either by sAC knockdown, by pharmacological inhibition or by withdrawal of bicarbonate, a natural sAC activator, compromised cell viability and recovery of cytosolic Ca2+ homeostasis during reperfusion. Contrariwise, overexpression of mitochondria-targeted sAC in H9C2 cells suppressed reperfusion-induced cell death. Analyzing cAMP concentration in mitochondrial matrix we found that inhibition of PDE2, a predominant mitochondria-localized PDE isoform in mammals, during reperfusion significantly increased cAMP level in mitochondrial matrix, but not in cytosol. Accordingly, PDE2 inhibition attenuated reperfusion-induced cardiomyocyte death and improved recovery of the cytosolic Ca2+ homeostasis.

Conclusion

sAC plays an essential role in supporting cardiomyocytes viability during reperfusion. Elevation of mitochondrial cAMP pool either by sAC overexpression or by PDE2 inhibition beneficially affects cardiomyocyte survival during reperfusion.  相似文献

The paper is concerned with studies in formation of monomeric fibrin (fm) complexes with fragment D (D) of fibrinogen and dimer D (DD) of stabilized fibrin. The complexes are shown to be essentially different. The fm-D complexes are unstable, their composition is a function of D concentration in the mixture, the ultimate molar D/fm ratio is equal to 3. The fm-DD complexes are quite stable, their composition is constant: the molar DD/fm ratio is equal to 1. In mixtures containing fm, DD and different amounts of D complexes of different composition are formed but the total number of D-units in them approaches 3. A model is suggested showing interaction of fm molecules in protofibril formation with allowance for the retention of binding centres which provide the lateral link between protofibrils.  相似文献
