Abstract We present a parallel algorithm for molecular dynamics involving short-range two- and three-body potentials and the pair-correlation function, g(r). The method is based on a spatial decomposition of the simulation box that takes advantage of a linked-cell list, and allows a load balanced partition of the computations of both the forces and g(r) over the processors. The tests of the program is conducted by evaluating the efficiency for both the thermalization phase and the production phase of the simulation. This method is successfully applied to the calculation of the direct correlation function of fluid krypton at small scattering angle along the T = 297 K supercritical isotherm. 相似文献

1. Four enzyme fractions which may be involved in the synthesis and breakdown of glycerate-2,3-P2 have been isolated from extracted skeletal muscle by gel-filtration and ion-exchange chromatography. 2. One of the fractions, corresponding to the glycerate-2,3-P2 dependent phosphoglycerate mutase, has been purified to homogeneity. In addition to the main enzymatic activity, it shows intrinsic glycerate-2,3-P2 synthase activity and glycerate-2,3-P2 phosphatase activity stimulable by glycolate-2-P. Its synthase activity represents about 10% of the total synthase activity of the tissue, and its phosphatase activity corresponds to about 60% of the total phosphatase activity. 3. Two of the fractions have glycerate-2,3-P2 synthase, glycerate-2,3-P2 phosphatase and phosphoglycerate mutase activities in a ratio similar to that of the glycerate-2,3-P2 synthase described in mammalian skeletal muscle. Their synthase activity corresponds to about 90% of the total synthase activity, and their phosphatase activity represents about 1% of the total phosphatase activity of the tissue. 4. The fourth fraction shows only glycerate-2,3-P2 phosphatase activity and represents about 40% of the total activity of the tissue. 5. It is suggested that in chicken skeletal muscle the metabolism of the glycerate-2,3-P2 is regulated in a way similar to that described in mammalian skeletal muscle. 相似文献

CD45 is a protein tyrosine phosphatase expressed on all cells of hematopoietic origin that is known to regulate Src family kinases. In macrophages, the absence of CD45 has been linked to defects in adhesion, however the molecular mechanisms involved remain poorly defined. In this study, we show that bone marrow derived macrophages from CD45-deficient mice exhibit abnormal cell morphology and defective motility. These defects are accompanied by substantially decreased levels of the cytoskeletal-associated protein paxillin, without affecting the levels of other proteins. Degradation of paxillin in CD45-deficient macrophages is calpain-mediated, as treatment with a calpain inhibitor restores paxillin levels in these cells and enhances cell spreading. Inhibition of the tyrosine kinases proline-rich tyrosine kinase (Pyk2) and focal adhesion kinase (FAK), kinases that are capable of mediating tyrosine phosphorylation of paxillin, also restored paxillin levels, indicating a role for these kinases in the CD45-dependent regulation of paxillin. These data demonstrate that CD45 functions to regulate Pyk2/FAK activity, likely through the activity of Src family kinases, which in turn regulates the levels of paxillin to modulate macrophage adhesion and migration. 相似文献

Certain patterns of this development can be defined: the locus niger and the raphe appears fluorescent on the 14th day, the locus coeruleus on the 15th day. These systems differentiate independently in various areas of the neural axis. Their maturation are progressive: first for the DA system, then for the NA and the 5 HT systems. Studying ontogenetic features of fossil tetrapods is of major interest for investigating the adaptive strategies of early tetrapods to their palaeoenvironments. To determine the degree of calcification of skeletal elements, biologists have until now relied on X-ray radiographs of organisms or isolated bones, or on thin sections. An X-ray tomographic scan of Apateon, a Carboniferous – Permian branchiosaurid from the Autun Basin, France, reveals distinct density properties related to different mineralized tissues (calcified cartilage versus bone). The rendering of Apateon as a “test individual” provides a 3D map of the degrees of ossification of the axial and cranial elements. The combination of these anatomical observations with histological information from classical thin sections made in limb bones of several other specimens of the same locality allows the detailed determination of their ontogenetic stage. A comparison with the well-known specimens of the Saar-Nahe Basin, Germany, makes it possible to investigate the influence of different palaeoenvironments on ontogenetic features. 相似文献

The giant clam subfamily Tridacninae (family Cardiidae) is an important group of bivalve molluscs found throughout the Red Sea and Indo-Pacific, from East Africa to the Eastern Pacific biogeographic region. The Tridacna genus is currently revised with numerous cryptic species identified with molecular markers. New Tridacna records from the fringe of the known distribution areas are extremely useful to identify genetically unique species, geographic ranges, and to examine processes associated with species differentiation. While Tridacna maxima is abundant in French Polynesia (Central South Pacific Ocean) the larger fluted giant clam Tridacna squamosa was formerly reported only in the Austral Islands in the south. Following a recent survey that spanned 23 islands and atolls of the Society, Tuamotu and Gambier Archipelagos, the presence of T. squamosa between the Cook Islands and Pitcairn Islands is confirmed using both morphological and molecular information, suggesting a relic distribution across the Central Pacific Ocean. Tridacna squamosa is rare, but present throughout Tuamotu and Gambier. However, it remained undetected from the Society Islands, probably due to historical over-fishing. This species is valued by local inhabitants, and is sought after mainly as gifts and also for a limited local shell trade. The rarity of T. squamosa may call for conservation measures in the near future. 相似文献
