In the process of biooxidation at 39°C in a continuous mode of the gold-arsenic concentrate from the Olympiadinskoe deposit,
which was pretreated by chemical leaching with ferric ions, by a microbial association from the BIO department reactors of
the Polyus gold mining company, a bacterial culture designated as strain HT-4 was isolated. The bacterium was a spore-forming
rod 0.5–0.6 × 1.4–2.0 μm with a flagellum. The optimal temperature for growth and Fe2+ oxidation was 55°C. The strain grew in the pH range from 1.21 to 2.10 with the optimum at pH 1.6. The organism was incapable
of lithotrophic and organotrophic growth. It grew mixotrophically by Fe2+ oxidation in the presence of 0.02% yeast extract. The DNA G+C base content was 48.6 mol %. Based on comparative phylogenetic
analysis of 1472-bp nucleotide sequences of 16S rRNA genes, strain HT-4 was classified as Sulfobacillus thermosulfidooxidans. Analysis by pulse-field gel electrophoresis revealed a unique profile of the NotI fragments of the chromosomal DNA. These results demonstrate the strain and species diversity of sulfobacilli in microbial
associations involved in biooxidation of concentrates in different technological conditions. A computerized system for precise stimulation and analysis of electroencephalographic (EEG) reactions to two simultaneously presented frequencies of sine-wave light (one constant, 13 Hz, and the other varying from 1 to 6 Hz and vice versa) was used to study the mechanisms of human brain reactivity to complex rhythmical stimulation. The frequencies were generated by computer and presented to the subjects by three different ways: as a result of their simple summation (additively), as a product of their multiplication (multiplicatively, amplitude modulation of constant frequency by the varying frequency), or by separate presentation to different eyes. The dynamics of electroencephalograms for different types of stimulation were compared. Under all three experimental conditions, the dynamics of EEG spectra has demonstrated the same general pattern of resonance activation, which was similar to that observed for the presented signals in the case of their amplitude modulation. Significant positive shifts in the functional state of subjects were observed as a result of stimulation. The results obtained show the leading role of the processes of amplitude modulation in the interaction of integrative, adaptive, and trace mechanisms of the brain functioning during human perception of complex rhythmical stimuli. 相似文献

We examined the possibility of initiation of involuntary stepping movements by spinal electromagnetic stimulation (SEMS) during leg suspension. The subject’s legs were supported by a special apparatus in a gravity neutral position that to provide horizontal rotation in the hip, knee and ankle. SEMS (3 Hz and 1.56 Tesla) over the T11–T12 vertebrae induced involuntary locomotor_like movements in the legs. The latency period from the initiation of stimulation to the first EMG burst was 0.68 1.0 s. Increasing the frequency of SEMS from 3 Hz to 20 Hz resulted in shortening of the latency period. We applied different methods to analyze the effects of the recombinant wild-type small heat shock protein with an apparent molecular mass of 27 kD (Hsp27-wt) and its S15,78,82D mutant (Hsp27-3D), which mimics the naturally occurring phosphorylation of this protein, on the thermal denaturation and aggregation of F-actin. It has been shown that, at the weight ratio of Hsp27/actin equal to 1/4, both Hsp27-wt and Hsp27-3D do not affect the thermal unfolding of F-actin but effectively prevent the aggregation of F-actin by forming soluble complexes with denatured actin. The formation of these complexes occurs upon heating and accompanies the F-actin thermal denaturation. It is known that Hsp27-wt forms high-molecular-mass oligomers, whereas Hsp27-3D forms small dimers or tetramers. However, the complexes formed by Hsp27-wt and Hsp27-3D with denatured actin did not differ in their size, as measured by dynamic light scattering, and demonstrated the same hydrodynamic radius of 17-18 nm. On the other hand, the sedimentation coefficients of these complexes were distributed within the range 10-45 S in the case of Hsp27-3D and 18-60 S in the case of Hsp27-wt. Thus, the ability of Hsp27 to form soluble complexes with denatured actin does not significantly depend on the initial oligomeric state of Hsp27. 相似文献

Association of 13 single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) of insulinase (IDE) gene with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2D) in the Moscow population has been examined. Three polymorphic markers (rs7078413, rs7899603, and rs551266) associated with the risk of T2D development have been revealed. Allele and genotype frequency distribution for these three markers differed significantly only in the sample of females between T2D patients and control individuals, while only in case of rs7078413 SNP genotype frequencies varied significantly in the total population. 相似文献

A new way to develop muscular strength using electromagnetic stimulation (ES) of muscles during their voluntary contractions has been described. The experiment involved 18 healthy men divided into the control group (CG) and the experimental group (EG) with equal parameters of muscular strength. In performing training exercises (the foot plantar flexion), the m. gastrocnemius of the subjects of the EG was exposed to ES (1.8 T, 5 Hz). The subjects of the CG performing the same exercises did not receive ES. The power torque of the foot plantar flexion in the EG significantly increased (24%) after 10 days of training. The power torque of the foot plantar flexion in the control subjects did not significantly change. We suppose that the increase in the muscular strength in the subjects of the EG was due to the activation of high-threshold motor units effected by ES. 相似文献
